If only you could know how your prayers have helped my family and I through this. The Lord has heard you and responded with kindness. We are grateful for your sacrificial prayers.
I had another chemo session yesterday and I am trying to find something this morning that is appealing to eat. The few pounds I have gained gives me a little cushion in this regard. Useful fat. Who’da thunk? I am beginning to drink real coffee(!) again, since I am groggy from taking muscle relaxants in order to sleep. It seems that one of the chemicals causes some nervous system symptoms that are similar to restless leg syndrome. It produce a sensation which I can only descrobe as a “nerve itch”. Let it go and it borders on pain, so I must exercise my left leg and arm to calm it. Then, it comes back in about 10 seconds. The blessing is that it does not occur every night.
Due to the infection in my ankles, I must also sleep with my feet elevated. This sees to provoke the nerve symptoms. Thus, sleeping is rather difficult and I’m getting about two hours at a time. My body has a constant need to eliminate the toxins, so I’m getting up several times during the night. I was sleeping on the floor next to a heater, but that roasts one side and chills the other! Plus, it wakes Elsa when she realizes I’m not in bed. She worries a lot and I pray for her peace.
Again, this is a journey - someone has suggested that it is one of purgation, but I have consistently received the strength that I need from our Gracious God. It has come through your blessed intercession in great part, I must add.
May the Lord continue to bless you all for your faithfulness and regular dialog with Him. May each of you be lead to a more profound faith. Amen!
