po18guy, my heart goes out to you. As a survivor of cancer surgery, chemo and radiation, I have an idea of what you are going through, though each case is different.

I haven’t read every post in this thread, but I see you have lost weight - that’s usual - and nothing seems to taste right. Again…usual. Have you tried drinking Ensure? I found that helped to keep my strength up somewhat, and the vanilla was the ‘least offensive’ on the worst days when anything seemed terrible.

From someone else’s post mentioning your mouth and stomach. If you have the mouth sores, the mouthwash, Biotene is a blessing from God.

You will be in my prayers more than usual. I wish I’d known what you are going through. I haven’t been here much, and I do pray for everyone, but you will have an extra ‘dose’ of prayer from me to God. Your prayers for me in the past have lifted my heart and spirit. May God bless you abundantly, po18guy, and may He give you more good days than bad during the rest of this chemo. :console:

Jim, you’re in my heart, and most definitely in my prayers.

I am so heartened by the grace with which the Lord works in you.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.

You live this daily in such a profound way.

Take care, my friend. May He offer you His strength and quench your thirst on this journey, and may He continue to work His love through You.

Hi po18 , you’re having my prayers together with all praying intensely for you .
I hope that you’re recovering after chemo and everything is well with you and your family .
Heavenly Father , nothing is impossible with You , come into po18 aid and bring restoration of his health soon .
In Jesus Holy Name , Amen

Hail Mary
full of grace
the Lord is with thee
blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary
mother of God
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death
AMEN

DW just brought some home. It’s uh…OK…!! I was gaining weight until just recently! Since I am officially in remission, I likely no longer have cancer, but something even worse: chemo.

I had sores for about 2 weeks, then they “mysteriously” went away. Praise God for prayer warriors! As to my stomach, well…

God bless all of you for your prayers!

You continue to be in my prayers po18guy! I find much inspiration from you and thank you for your continued prayers for me. May the Lord continue to bless you and your loving family!

Hi Po18guy!
I’ve been sitting here reading up on how things have been going for you. You have really been through some pretty rough treatments. My prayers have remained with you even though I haven’t had time to visit the site lately.

I’m so proud of your success! GOD IS SO GOOD! I will continue to pray for you and for your family. You are such a blessing to me and all the “Prayer Warriors” here on this site.

Love Ya,
Pam

I am honored, your Honor! God bless you for your continued prayers. Only the Lord could turn cancer into a blessing, but He has! Praise His Holy Name!

Hi Pol18guy,

Glad to hear you’re doing well. I am going to continue to pray for your recovery and for your family during my rosary. I know how hard this must have been on your family as well.

244Rocket, Gwyn, wina St Gabriel, pyropam and cassie89,

Bless you all, as you deepen your faith lives on my behalf. You all continue to store up treasure i Heaven for yourselves! I benefit from the strength that your prayers bring. I will need it for more chemo tomorrow.

Christ’s peace.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 137 (138)
Thanksgiving

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart, for you have heard the words of my mouth.
In the presence of the angels I will make music to you, worship before your holy temple.
I will praise your name because of your mercy and faithfulness: high above all other names is the greatness of your word.

Each day that I call on you, Lord, listen to me, strengthen my spirit.
All the kings of the earth will proclaim your glory, Lord, when they hear your word.
They will sing of the paths of the Lord, so great is his glory.
For the Lord is on high but he cares for the humble; and he knows the proud from afar.

If I walk in the midst of troubles, you will give me life. If my enemies rise up against me, your right hand will keep me safe.
The Lord does all that I need. Lord, your kindness lasts for ever: do not forsake the work of your hands.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Again, thanks to all of you for your continuing prayers. At chemo today, I shared a room with a man in his 60s who was receiving a blood transfusion. He was coughing throughout. At first I was annoyed, fearing that I would catch cold. We were separated only by a curtain.

However, his wife later called for help, saying that he was coughing up blood. The facility went full code and the result was that he died, his lungs (lung cancer) filling with blood. I said prayers for him and his wife while I was there, and will do so again at bed time. Unfortunately, I do not know his or her name.

Christ’s peace to all.
