Let’s join our brothers and sisters in Christ and call to God to heal the nation.

No, but thanks. Franklin Graham has become politicized to the extent now that he is referred to as a Trump apologist. He excuses Trump’s misdeeds but refused to accept that Obama was a Christian. I want no part of that.

If Farrakhan put people off about the Million Man March, we can expect the same reaction as to Franklin Graham.

I would like to see Trump put more emphasis on unifying America and healing some of the terrible divides in this nation. From where I sit Trump has not been a unifying force.

Trump has not been a unifying force.
The polarizing of the nation is exactly what we needed to see. What was hidden was brought out into the light.

This is an opportunity to pray together and be one voice crying to God, even if it should be in a Catholic church, with a rosary in your hand. You say Trump has not been a unifying force. Your answer with your disgruntled opinion about Franklin Graham is also not a unifying response. He refused to accept Obama was a Christian? You refuse the invitation to pray with Christians.

Franklin Graham doesn’t measure up to your standard. Good to know.

You refuse the invitation to pray with Christians.
Franklin Graham is not the last Christian in the US nor is his march the last (or only) opportunity I will have to pray with Christians. He is putting on a political spectacle during part of an electoral campaign. I don’t need to be part of that.

I would be very very careful if we are on this board and saying derisive things about public figures that may not be true, I found this on Franklin Graham from ABC:
“I think the president’s problem is that he was born a Muslim, his father was a Muslim. The seed of Islam is passed through the father like the seed of Judaism is passed through the mother. He was born a Muslim, his father gave him an Islamic name,” Graham told CNN’s John King in a televised interview that aired Thursday night.

“Now it’s obvious that the president has renounced the prophet Mohammed, and he has renounced Islam, and he has accepted Jesus Christ. That’s what he says he has done. I cannot say that he hasn’t. So I just have to believe that the president is what he has said,” Graham continued, adding that “the Islamic world sees the president as one of theirs.”

The president himself has written that his father, Barack Obama Sr., was already a confirmed atheist by the time he was born. His father divorced his mother when Obama was 2 years old, and he had little contact with his father during his childhood.

And though Franklin may have said something else, let’s not forget Obama in all of this, he is accused of supporting infanticide which has be much worse.

And now, to an extent, it seems this is the norm with the Democratic party. Very depraved beliefs.

So, it’s accusing someone of something that may not be so versus the demonstrated record of Obama.

And, I’m not sure if what Graham says fits into what is said earlier in this thread. He may have been answering a simple interviewer’s question.

The post above seems misleading or is a distortion of the truth in my view, per what I found from ABC. Perhaps, there is more but I thought the assertion sounded weak to begin with. Such accusations should be backed up or should be labeled as false.

I see not one single word on Franklin Graham asserting Barak Obama is a Muslim. So, not really on topic. We can find negative news articles on anyone. At least, anyone famous.

I believe in personal freedoms, if one wants to put down someone like Franklin Graham who feeds probably thousands of hungry souls a day, one has that right. I have a right to defend him as well.

The polarizing of the nation is exactly what we needed to see.
Do we really need to see families unable to celebrate Thanksgiving together without verbal abuse being thrown around? Do we really need to see neighborhoods thrown into chaos with people defacing each other’s property because of the political lawn sign used? Do we really need to see the Catholic Church membership torn apart into pro-Trump Catholics and pro-Biden Catholics? The United States was founded on the ideal that people of different political views can come together to work out their differences in a civilized public forum, with each side respecting the dignity of the other, even when they disagree with their views. As Lincoln asked, can such a nation long endure? I sincerely hope so.

As Lincoln asked, can such a nation long endure?
Do we really need to see it? It was already there, but hidden and smoldering.
If you had cancer growing in your body, would you prefer to keep it hidden or to have the doctor find it and tell you it’s there? Once you know, there’s plan a course of action.

No one wants to have cancer. Once you know, deal with it.

And that is right, such a nation will not endure but collapse. And here we are. If we don’t unite and call out to God to heal the nation, who will?

Civil discourse is the best way to bring to light these differences. It does not hide them. But civil discourse is less destructive. In keeping with your cancer theme, it is the difference between a carefully planned regiment of chemo treatments, versus blasting the cancer away with dynamite.

Are you thinking that I support rioting, burning and looting? I do not. It’s terrible and heart breaking. Months of this and no condemnation from mayors and governors, who could publically call for an end to this is very revealing of who they are. You have domestic terrorists on US soil.

I wanted people to join with other Christians to pray for your nation. Does that sound like I’m asking for dynamite? Holy spirit of God dynamite, yes!

You said you were in favor of the growing polarization in the US. I assumed you meant the vitriol that is being hurled by both Democrats and Republicans (the people, more so than the politicians, but they do it too), each side demonizing the other. Were you speaking of some other kind of polarization? Perhaps you should define what you meant by polarization, if it is not what I just described.

We need to speak up; I won’t go off topic too much but this isn’t your grand dad’s Democratic party, cities are burning and the values for me, are way out of whack. Sometimes, people have to separate themselves. History teaches us that.

Take one example that should not be too offensive, the police are somewhat being vilified in our society. I think that is wrong and people need to stand up for what is right. That does not mean that our system should not be adjusted some, it should be.

Christian prayers are fine. But I suspect that the call in this march is for a thinly disguised right-wing campaign “prayer” for a Trump victory. I would have to see more evidence of the intentions of this march before I would voice my support for it.

The cities were burning much more in 1967, and that may have been one of the factors that caused LBJ not to seek a second term. But somehow, this President has convinced everyone that he is not to blame. Trump says it’s the fault of the Democratic governors. But one of the worst riots in 1967 was in Michigan, while Republican George Romney was governor. If something is out of whack, why is it never Trump’s fault?

I think we don’t need the thread hijacked off on a tangent.
