My prayers constantly with everyone on this thread :gopray2:

Please pray for an urgent special intention of mine, and for my sister’s health and happiness during the remainder of her pregnancy.
…in prayer…Barb

For Tom and Betty…marriage problems
Praying to my confirmation saint St Helena - she’s patroness of difficult marriages dont’cha know 😉

For my mother who’s a little unwell (nothing too dreadful though) and for an urgent and important special intention of mine.

I have a site in my signature that has public and anonymous prayer requests if anyone is interested. I think its nice to pray for others as well as offer you own!

I have a prayer request of special urgency. My future in-laws have set themselves up in opposition to my future wife and I and are trying every tactic in the book to block our wedding. It sounds like a similar enough plot, but I have personally encountered something diabolical that I’ve only encountered in the pro-choice escorts at the abortion clinics. My future bride and I live a holy and chaste relationship and are committed to frequent reception of the sacraments, including Daily Mass. We go to adoration frequently. She is 25, I am 26. Her mother has said that she must obey and not marry me. I am worn out spiritually, but we continue to fight for our future life together. I will respond with greater detail when I have more time. I am desparate for your prayers. Please, please, please pray for us that we may withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.

Prayers for you Sweetchuck and for all. Sweetchuck, why don’t you say the St Michael’s prayer everyday?

Please pray for my spiritual director who will be giving a retreat on the week-end of the 15-16th…he is giving 5 talks.

I will pray for you. Please pray for a friend of mine who is in a nasty situation with her Mother in law and husband who called the police and had her arrested for child abuse, the children were taken by DOCS kicking and screaming from their mother. A very sad situation and this friend of mine is the most loving mother I know (I have know her since my childhood). SHe was cleared of all charges, DOCS realised it was a hoax, but the children still had to endure the heartache of being probed. Her in laws are still plotting and trying anything to get the children away from her, one family member even threatened to cut her up into pieces  Please pray for her and her children.

I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with a blood clot in my left leg that is over 12 inches long. My doctors (primary, GI, and hemotologist) are all working together to find the appropriate treatment as I bleed out on certain blood thinners. Please pray that it works and that the swelling and pain will diminish in time.

I will pray for all prayer intentions listed.

Thank you and God bless.

Oh Lord! Please place your healing hand on this horrendous clot that must be causing so much pain for your beloved. May your Precious Blood run through her circulatory system to cleanse all that is not helathy. Surround her with your Light and hold her hand as only You can restore her according to Your will. I plead mercy dear Lord for her and for all that need Your comfort and restoration. Amen!

**In The Name Of The Father, The Son And The Holy Spirit

Hail Mary Full Of Grace The Lord Is With Thee

Blessed Art Thou Amongst Women And

Blessed Is The Fruit Of Thy Womb Jesus

Holy Mary Mother Of God Pray For Our Sinners Now

And At The Hour Of Our Death Amen

Oh most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, people honor and invoke you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for Us, for We are so helpless and alone. Please help to bring us visible and speedy assistance. Come to our assistance in this great need that We may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all our necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly all the needs posted and prayed for in this forum and that We may praise God with you always. We promise, Oh blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as our special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you by publishing this request. Amen**

Lord have mercy! I will definitely pray for them. Stories like that cause me to shudder.

Here is a more detailed account of what my fiancee and I have gone through.

It is with great joy that I pass onto you the news of my engagement to a woman of great faith and integrity, your sister in the Church and mine. We will be married on January 1 of this coming year on the feast of Mary the Mother of God.

I met her at orientation last year at graduate school. We became fast friends in faith. We both wish to devote our lives to the service of the Church and to pro-life work. We have regularly prayed outside abortion clinics together. Not long after I met her, I knew of my calling to protect her and show her a new love. By September of last year, I knew that my days of searching for my future wife had come to an end. I was either going to marry this one, or not be married at all. I had asked her out unsuccessfully several times. But this time, before our first date, I asked her heavenly Father for her hand. This time, she accepted the date. We began dating in February, after much prayer and discernment. We have pursued a relationship of holiness and chastity, devoted to prayer, daily Mass, and adoration, consecrated to the Blessed Mother on the feast day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. We became formally engaged on July 14, but have been informally engaged since April. I proposed to her in her home parish before the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the Eucharistic Adoration chapel. Immediately before I spoke, as she looked at the icon, she heard Our Lady say to her, “this is my son.”

Our engagement, however, has been difficult. We have suffered immensely for the sake of God’s will revealed to us. God’s faithful people, including several priests with whom we have spoken, have been immensely supportive of us, offering their consolations and prayers, for which we are truly grateful. I come to you, too, in need of your fervent prayer.

In late June of this summer, we traveled to meet her parents. In the midst of a generally pleasant trip, after taking time to get to know them, I spoke with her stepfather, a deacon of the Church, seeking his blessing for our engagement. Though concerned about the timing of our engagement, he told me that he neither supported nor opposed our engagement, because he had not spoken to his daughter about this, but not opposed because his daughter seemed happy. Additionally, during this conversation, he asked me many probing questions about my past life. As a man of sincerity, I trusted that my future father-in-law and a deacon of the Church was worthy of my trust; so I answered all of his questions truthfully. After speaking with my beloved that night, he supported us initially, as did my beloved’s brother, whom I had met several weeks before traveling.

However, her mother has turned the tide of opinion against us, to whomever’s ear she could bend. This includes not only my beloved’s father and brother, but her grandmother, and many of her friends in her home state. To them, my future mother-in-law has borne false witness against our relationship, alleging that we are cohabiting. The deacon himself disclosed the entire conversation to her, which was spoken under presumed confidence, divulging the sins of my past (none of which involved his daughter, mind you, as our relationship has been most chaste), which have been further divulged to others. These sins are far from me, as east is from west, separated by the passing of time and the deliverance of Jesus Christ himself. I now realize that I spoke with imprudence, putting too much trust in a man I did not know. Despite this untimely realization, this broken confidence has been wielded against us. And the unchastity of my past has been used to unjustly and most maliciously call into question the chastity of our current relationship. Additionally, she has sought to turn my beloved against me with repeated false witness, refusal to address any of her concerns directly to me, and repeated manipulative phone messages and letters, desperately trying to plant seeds of doubt and fear. Her devices do not end there. In her belief that she is doing God’s will, she, along with my future father-in-law and brother-in-law met with my beloved’s manipulative ex-boyfriend from high school in an attempt to send him to the rescue. Meanwhile, she has tried to control my beloved’s every relationship, from her selection of a future spouse to her choice of friends, to the closeness of her relationship with family members, to her very relationship with God Himself. As self-appointed prophet, she has sought to communicate to my beloved what she perceives to be God’s will, forgetting that God has made a New Covenant with His people, and he has made himself known to my beloved’s own heart (Jer.31:34).

…cont’d…

…cont’d…

This madness has gone on in an escalating fashion for the past nine weeks, either behind our backs or before our faces, and has manifested itself to us in a multiplicity of forms of opposition. But this is no mere nine-week phenomenon, but a lifetime of control and emotional abuse. In years past, she discouraged my beloved from her desire to attend daily Mass, frequent confession, and pray the rosary regularly. She manipulatively discouraged her from discerning a vocation to religious life and firmly resisted our desire to pray about our wedding date. The betrayal and abandonment felt by my beloved has been excruciating for both of us. While it has been agonizing for me to (sometimes helplessly) behold something like to befall someone I love so intensely, I know it has been profoundly more painful for your sister in Christ. While I cannot help but thank God that he has drawn us immeasurably closer together and immeasurably closer to Him because of all of this, I cannot help but feel this encroaching dark presence every time her phone rings or a new package or letter arrives at her door.

Needless to say, we have come upon a severe personal persecution for the sake of our faith in God’s plan for us and for our faith in the goodness of the Sacrament of Matrimony. I write to you to entreat you for your support, for this brother in need, fighting for the life of his future family. I long to forgive them all for the wretched things that have been done and take them in as my own family as well. However, profound violence has been done to a great many relationships because of these things, and much reparation awaits them when they realize what they have done.

Our situation is difficult. I ask you for your intercession: Please storm heaven with prayers, fasts, rosaries, whatever you can do, for us and our situation, especially that the love of the Church, her ever-faithful Mother, may sustain my beloved through this trial. We do not have much time left to finish our wedding planning, and the drama detailed above in too brief of a fashion to do it justice has consumed much time and peace. Please pray for us also that our financial resources will sustain us through the wedding, which we are paying for ourselves, and through the remaining years of our education.

I thank you and I offer up my sufferings for you.

May God bless you all.

Prayers and thoughts for the repose of of Peter Brock’s soul and for his family and friends.
