Okay. Maybe he didn’t know what he was talking about. I honestly don’t know. However, when we prayed in his office, we did pray sitting in chairs. He just simply told me that when I was at home alone to pray kneeling. If I recall correctly, he basically made this a requirement.

By the way, please do not accuse me of lying anymore. I really do not appreciate that.

I’m unsure if you actually read what you quoted, but my response had nothing to do with defining Mormons out of Christianity. Read it again and the post that I was responding to.

My apologies. I thought I was responding to the post immediately above yours.

Which was, incidentally, a failed attempt to define Mormons out of Christianity. Etc, and so forth.

That’s his title. No scare quotes required.

imposed on me is he basically made them as requirements for me. In fact, I think he even stated that I was required to do these things. I knew that this was wrong and to me, this was a red flag that the Mormon church is not what it claims to be.

Anything the Bishop said to you about praying in your own home would be counsel, not a requirement. He could only make requirements for what happens in the Church meetings under his jurisdiction.

And if he told you to pray while standing on one foot and patting your head with one hand and rubbing your stomach with the other, then that would really be weird – but it would have nothing whatever to do with whether or not the Church of Jesus Christ is what it claims to be.
