Started Day 1. I pray that Angel, Gayle, Ashley, Kristen and Nicole will come out of the darkness in their lives.

As Jules said, let us pray for a miracle.

AMEN

I asked my mother and queen, Mary, to help you. Hail Mary.
Thank you Stove.

Day 2 everyone: I pray that these who we are praying for will go for themselves and see that Jesus is Risen and wants them. If only they knew he loves them and wants them to love him and know him so that they can serve him.

Day Four for me…still praying. Hope things are changing for the better.

All is kept in prayer with Our Lady of Good Counsel and of Good Remedy and also St. Joseph and St. Rita, patron of difficult causes.

Nana, Please let us know that the children arrive home safely.
The children arrived at school an hour and a half late. My sister called the school and than she called her ex, who did not take her call or returned her call.

The school called my sister around 10 am that Luis was angry and disturbing the class. He is to be with the principal when she gets there. She is afraid of losing her new job, for this is the second time she has to go to the school to get him due to his behavior. I think she should get a note from the school showing that his behavior is unacceptable to show the judge on October 1st. He has to see that these kids are this way after their visit with their dad. I don’t know yet what happened over the weekend to make Luis so angry again. Norma will call me tonight or my other siste could find out if Luis talks while he stays with her. I offered for her to bring him here, but because he is so angry she thought he would fight with my dd.

So the kids are back in school and Luis is going to be picked up by Norma soon for the school wants him out for the day due to his anger. I hope they don’t get tired of this and kick him out. I do understand though that he does prevent the teacher from teaching if he continues to be angry.

I will update you later if something did happen over the weekend at their dads.

Thanks to all for your prayers and concern. I just hope that this nightmare will end soon and the judge will give my sister full and sole custody for the kids’ sake.

Luis has an appointment this afternoon with his psychologist. If something did happen over the weekend, I pray that he opens up and tells this to the counselor.

I think you should get something from the school about Luis and his anger problems. I also think you should get something from a doctor about Marissa and her stomach problems. Maybe once the schools are involved and a doctor the judge will see whats going on.

STILL PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE!!

I agree totally. The school will not get involved in that way for Norma has asked many time. They said they would if they were subpoened. I will ask Norma to mention this to her attorney.

I just talked with Norma and she picked up Luis and she asked him what happened, referring to school. He was tapping his pencil in class and the teacher over reacted. Norma got a call from the school counselor and that is what she told her that the teachers should not have called her and taken Luis home for the day for just tapping on the desk. She apologized to Norma who lost 2 hours of work. Luis did immediately started to cry to Norma and said that his dad and Gayle sat Luis and Marissa down over this weekend and told him to say that he does not remember how he got the belt mark. They also showed them all their bills, the electric and etc and one of the bills was Norma’s name. They showed how much they will have to pay their mother and how they will never be able to go on vacation. This stressed out Luis and I am sure this will bother Marissa.

I can’t believe these people. They told the kids that since they keep talking to the counselor that they have chosen to put themselves in the middle of everything and cause problems. Talk about mental abuse here. I am so angry at these two. I really pray that the judge will do something to protect these kids from any more verbal and mental abuse.

The school counselor will pull Marissa out of class today and Luis sees his counselor also, but not the school one.

Something is really wrong with Luis and he is getting worse. My dad had to take him to his appt. with the counselor. Luis behaved terribly for my dad. According to dad, Luis was upset and angry from thetime he picked him up at my other sister’s house, but was calm on the way to the school to pick up Marissa. On the way to the counseling office from the school, he was kicking and screaming in the car and refused to buckle up his seat belt. He kicked my dad’s stereo system and he said he was refusing to listen at all. When he got to counselors’ office, Luis ran upstairs where he is not allowed to go and refused to come down and was kicking and punching the stairway. He was making noise and kicking the handrail. On of the psychologist was up in her office, which is upstairs, came out of her office and tried to calm him down and got him only half way down the stairway. Seconds later he went up again the stairs and the same psychologist had to get him down again. But Luis ran again upstairs for the third time and this time his regular psychologist tried to get him down for sometime before he finally did and went to her office. After the appointment, he was worse in the car, according to my dad. He was sitting in the back and Marissa was in the front. He was kicking Marissa’s seat over and over again and did not wear his seatbelt. He has a lot anger toward Marissa. He was messing around also with the air conditioning controls that are in the back seat area. When we arrived home, he changed his mood instantly and hugged my dad and Marissa and was sorry for his behavior. He talked a lot in the car when he was so angry. He would ask Marissa if she loved him and Marissa said yes, but Luis said that she was lying. My dad said he mentioned all three of his stepsister’s and his dad and Gayle, but he was screaming things and my dad was nervous driving in the traffic and didn’t pay to much attention to what he said the counselor.

My dad was a wreck and said that Luis looked like he had evil in his eyes. That is how I felt the day he went off on me at the dentist. The counselors don’t know what to do anymore.

I was thinking that Luis should have a exocist priest we have in our area pray for him. It can’t hurt. What do you think?

Hi Nana,

I think he needs to see counselors who will be more proactive in helping him cope. What type of counselors is he seeing? Are they psychologists? I think he needs to see someone who specializes in situations like his.

It would not hurt to have the priest pray for him if your parish priest recommends it. Luis`s anger is justified though, and he needs to be taught appropriate methods to deal with it. Otherwise, this will plague him all of his life.

Does he get a lot of outdoor exercise? That might help him relieve some of his stress. I know the gym helps me!

Sincerely,

Maria1212

I cannot believe this. Do you have Mandatory Notification there?
Here in Australia, teachers and anyone dealing with children are required by law to inform Child Services about any abuse or suspected abuse. They can be prosecuted if they don’t.
None of this, ‘they’ll do it if they have to’. Don’t they care about what that poor little boy is going through? Does anyone care there? The law is failing these children dismally. I am sure they’d have a case in years to come about the lack of help they received from the departments that were put in place to protect them. This is absolutely disgusting. Shame on those teachers.
My husband’s a teacher and I know that he would NEVER sit back knowing what was going on here and do nothing.

Nana, if this is all documented, his outbursts, his trouble at school, his NOT wanting to go to his dads, Marrissa’s sicknesses, I think I would write a long letter to whoever you think would listen, make dot points of every incident and send it. I do not know who to there, but here, I think we could go to Politicians, Government Ministers and the like. And maybe video tape one of his outbursts (if that is possible without ridiculing him… just to show how bad things are.) We are much smaller here and with far less people, but we have a couple of tv stations that have current affair shows, that love a good story like this and actually bring about change where nothing else does. Show up the lack of concern, the dismissiveness of the Child Protection Services and they may stand up and listen. Sometimes showing their incompetance embarrases them and THEN they will act. I am outraged that noone cares about these poor innocent children.
What more has to happen before someone will help?

My sister had him in Karate and this helped with getting out his frustrations, but he uses what he learned on Marissa. The dad would refuse to take him to his karate lessons when he picked them up and that too was a problem. My sister has him again this year in karate and the instructors are working with her to teach him that he is not to misuse what he learns. She would put him in other sports, but in the past that was a big problem for she would pay for it and the dad would not take them to their games on his weekends. She said she won’t do it this year.

The psychologist that they are seeing are forensic psychologist. I think she is changing her methods to help him cope with the anger. The psychologist is working also with the school counselor who takes the kids out three times a week for counseling while at school. Marissa is very depressed. Luis almost hates his sister now, but I think Marissa joins in with the dad’s sick family when they make fun of Luis. At least that is what he says, but she denies. Like I said before, both kids lie sometimes to defend themselves.

I understand totally your frustration for that is how we feel. I have thought of going to the media to problem solvers, an investigative team on one of our local news stations.

The school they go to is Catholic, but have always in the past and now said that unless they get a court order, they will not get involved except to help with counseling. The principal would have by now expelled Luis, like he did once in the past, but since there is a new counselor and she is compassionate and sees a problem in Luis that needs attention, she won’t allow the principal to kick him out. She talks him out of it when he mentions it. This principal has been know to run away from problems instead of try to fix it or improve it. The pastor is also informed of all this and won’t allow the kids to be treated this way.

The school is obligated to report abuse, but his anger outburst is hard to pin on the dad, even though they know that. They need to prove it for that is what DCF has told them. The counselor will if the kids reveal something to her, report the dad to DCF with no problems. The kids are very scared now and both are acting bad. Luis has anger and Marissa depression.

Yes, I think it is sick that the government does nothing to protect these kids. We hope that on October 1st the judge will finally do something and the kids won’t have to go back to their dads. He doesn’t get them now again until next weekend, which is after the 1st. The dad will have to explain why he has not made an appointment with the children’s psychologist, but he has lied on the stand saying they never contacted him. The DCF administrator suggested to Norma that she tell the office to send him a certified letter asking for him to come in for an appointment for he can’t lie about that then.

This whole situation has me sick to my stomach at times. It is terrible that Luis and Marissa have to go to a dad like theres. I don’t understand the law for in the Florida laws it does state that shared parenting is in the best interest of the child/children unless they are being affected emotionally or physically and they are. In a case like theirs the judge should do what is in the best interest of the kids and give one parent sole and full custody. I don’t know what they don’t or haven’t as of yet.🤷 We are all so angry about this situation.

Day 6 for me… How is everything Nana?
Day 6 for me too. The kid’s dad did not call today to pick up the kids as he does on Wednesdays, but last night Norma asked Marissa if her dad told her if he would be picking them up from school on Wednesday. Marissa told her that Angel told them both that he would never be seeing them again since the hearing is on October 1st.

We don’t know if DCF told him something that he is keeping to himself. I hope that it does come true, but even still he would see the kids supervised at a supervision center, so I don’t know what he meant by saying that he would never be seeing them again. Unless he was just saying that to get the kids to cry at their mother, which they have not. Marissa cared less. I don’t know about Luis, but he was getting tired of being hit.

Marissa also told Norma that her dad said he may lose his daycare business. He blames my sister and he also blamed her for the hearing. He blames everyone but himself. He even talked to the kids again about he night he left my sister, when he walked out. He told the kids that he was watching TV and Norma got angry and told him to get out of their lives. What a lie!!! I was there. He told them also that he did not want a divorce but to work on things but Norma did not. Again a lie. I remember calling him up when he first left telling him and begging him to try to work things out. I asked him to go to a marriage counselor, but he said everything is too late and he wanted out for good.

Someday, the kids will know the entire truth. He has lied so much that it is habitual for him now. It is sad to see for this man was like a brother to me. He was always kind to me and helped me a lot in many things. He has changed so much. I actually feel sorry for him. He really thought that by a divorce and leaving my sister, he was going to get rich and be happier. He is not and in fact worse off than when he was married to my sister. He was unhappy than and is unhappy now and it is because he needs our Lord in his life. I pray he sees that one day and turns to God for help and forgiveness.

Please post an update tonight about what happens after school! I hope he is out of their lives. I know that children need a father, but they need a good one. As I have told you many times, I pray daily for these kids! They hold a special place in my heart.

The kids are fine and went with my dad after school today. Something very interesting happened though today. Norma received a call from Gayle’s, the stepmom, sister. She had my sister’s cell phone number because she allowed Marissa to call her mom from her cell phone one time in the summer when she was visiting. We don’t know if this lady can be trusted, but she has wanted to talk to Norma since the summer.

The first thing this woman said to Norma was that she was nothing like her sister. She described her sister as mean and nasty and very selfish. Anyway, she even said that the kids at the daycare are not treated right and are shown no compassion. They punish the kids too if they had a accident. She said they do this to those just being potty trained. They punish them by putting them in the corner. This part is true for Luis has said so also. Anyway, this woman said that when she was there in the summer for a short time, she saw that the kids were not fed properly or at all sometimes. She said it was horrible. She said that Angel and Gayle would talk about Norma in a horrible way and in front of the kids, my niece and nephew. She had to correct them several times. My sister asked her to ask her daughter who was there at the time of Luis beating, the one the dad denies happened, if she remembers Luis screaming. She told Norma that she would ask her dd in the morning and if she said she heard Luis screaming and crying that she was going down to their local sheriff’s office and do a deposition and mail it to Norma for her lawyer. She also said that if it would help to have a witness, she would testify against Angel and her sister.

The only part that bothers me is that she left back home to Virginia and left her dd there at Angel’s for one more week. If things were that bad, why would she leave her dd with them? I know I would not. I don’t know why she left her dd with them for a week more. She said she came down to visit at her mother’s request and her sisters because they need a director for their daycare. She told Norma that the daycare was funded by her mother. She did say that they drink a lot also. She said they fight a lot also. All this Marissa has said from the beginning.

I don’t know what to think. I guess if she wants to do a deposition that could not hurt, but I told my sister not to confide in her about the case because she could be working for her ex and her sister.

Anyway, that is what is new today. Luis did well in school today. Marissa is very depressed though. She keeps thinking about this whole “nightmare” as she calls it. Poor thing, she will be happy when this is all done and over with.

I really hope and pray that the judge will give my sister full and sole custody. Her lawyer said that it just doesn’t happen in Florida, but I pray that God will allow it and make it possible.

ANYTHING is possible when God is there! I am praying for a miracle. I won’t stop until these kids are safe.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. Tomorrow morning is the BIG day. The court hearing is at 10:30 am EST. We still do not know for sure if the dad has an attorney.

Please pray for Norma too for she almost lost it mentally today. Luis has been terrible and his anger outburst are just too much and too frequent. He took her contact lens and opened the little case and put water on them to put down the drain. Thank God, the lens stuck to the led and she did not lose them. He is being defiant. Her mental health now is very weak too. Please pray that she will be strong for her kids and whatever may happen tomorrow. I just pray for something to help these kids cope better with abusive parents every other weekend.

Tomorrows hearing will discuss suspension of visitation for the dad, appointment of Guardian ad litem for the kids, contempt charges for not bringing the kids to counseling, contempt charges for not paying half of medical bills of the kids and revision of visitation schedule.
