I cannot believe this. Do you have Mandatory Notification there?
Here in Australia, teachers and anyone dealing with children are required by law to inform Child Services about any abuse or suspected abuse. They can be prosecuted if they don’t.
None of this, ‘they’ll do it if they have to’. Don’t they care about what that poor little boy is going through? Does anyone care there? The law is failing these children dismally. I am sure they’d have a case in years to come about the lack of help they received from the departments that were put in place to protect them. This is absolutely disgusting. Shame on those teachers.
My husband’s a teacher and I know that he would NEVER sit back knowing what was going on here and do nothing.
Nana, if this is all documented, his outbursts, his trouble at school, his NOT wanting to go to his dads, Marrissa’s sicknesses, I think I would write a long letter to whoever you think would listen, make dot points of every incident and send it. I do not know who to there, but here, I think we could go to Politicians, Government Ministers and the like. And maybe video tape one of his outbursts (if that is possible without ridiculing him… just to show how bad things are.) We are much smaller here and with far less people, but we have a couple of tv stations that have current affair shows, that love a good story like this and actually bring about change where nothing else does. Show up the lack of concern, the dismissiveness of the Child Protection Services and they may stand up and listen. Sometimes showing their incompetance embarrases them and THEN they will act. I am outraged that noone cares about these poor innocent children.
What more has to happen before someone will help?
