Prayers of protection for Church Millitant…

Most Precious Blood of Christ surround and protect him and all those in the path of the hurricane.

Lisa, God must love you dearly!

May He keep CM and all His folk and all who aren’t His folk close in His Most Sacred Heart.

Our prayers are with you, CM. Lisa, Thanks for being sensitive to the Spirit’s direction. Mike.

I live just outside of Miami (or “Miama” as the real old-timers call it) and it appears that we’ll be getting tropical storm force winds. Lots of rain is expected, two to four inches. The wind is gaining strength outside right now and the heat index was 110 degrees Fahrenheit this afternoon.

We need to remember Church Militant as well as other members in florida like Liberian. Dont forget those Catholic countries down there as well.

The path of this hurricane could be anywhere from Louisiana to Florida, so we need to remember all of the South in the path of this nightmare!

For the sake of His Sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

My prayers go out to Church Militant, his family member, my family members, and all residents of all states that will soon be effected by this Hurricane.

Wow Lisa…all you guys… I am really touched. 🙂 We need all your prayers. We have not been ordered to evac though people less than a mile south of us have. Just keep us in your prayers and all those who have been battered already. There are a lot of Catholics down island in Jamaica and Cuba, the D.R. and Haiti, (which is still a mess from last year!) and there are a lot of people who are not gonna leave here for this storm.

I and my family have ridden out a few before, but no Cat 4’s. We are in a good spot though that doesn’t flood, and far enough from the beach to probably be alright.

There will probably be no Masses around here this weekend, so please remember all the parishes that can’t come together while you are at Mass. Especially Our Lady of the Assumption out on Pensacola Beach since they are almost ready to reopen after being wrecked (over 2 million dollars worth) by Ivan.

Thank you all for your prayers. You guys are the best!
God, I LOVE being a Catholic!
Glory Be To God!

Michael,
I bet you could use one of these right about now.http://www.army-technology.com/projects/olifant/images/olifant_tank5.jpg
It’s probably watertight and wind resistant. If trees are in the way, go over them or blow them up.
You be safe and let us know what’s going on, if you can.

I pray that we all have the fortitude to not stay on the forums 24/7
aren’t we supposed to stay on 24/7?😃

glad to hear from you, church militant–we’re still praying for you all!

Update: 1:30 CDT First rain, but not heavy, a few gusts. Curfew begins at 6pm til noon Sunday. Most places closing in the next 30 minutes. We await our youngest son who gets off work at 2. Traffic fairly light. Not all that many seem to be leaving, though some are boarded up and gone or hunkered down. We are in the latter group. All Masses in our area are cancelled.

Dennis currently down to a cat 2 which is good if it comes ashore as such because most all of us have sat out 2s w/o too much hassle where we are. Those of us on relatively high ground and fairly distant from the water should be okay. We ran into some close n-c friends at Walmart earlier who live accross hwy 98 from us and are staying. We told them to run to us (3/4 mile) if it gets hairy. Anyone who is along the water is in for a rough time.

“For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

CM you are in my prayers as well, neighbor. Seems as though our area will be spared most of the intensity of the storm once again. We will get some of the usual East side of the storm Tornadic activity and flooding, but nothing compared to you all on the Western part of the panhandle which is where it sounds like you are located. I was just perusing some online interactive storm tracks from last season and this season so far. You all have had more than your share of this type of hardship. I pray that you will be spared from future storms as well as for your safety from “Dennis”

God Bless

8pm pm update. Now up to a cat 3 and expected to come ashore as a cat 4 (though probably minimal 4). Hurricane force winds expected by 6 am Sunday.Youngest son is at a friends where they plan to remain and should be safe. We are using small handheld radios to stay in touch in case the phones go out. He’s only about a mile away. We are safe and secure and we are gonna stay put.

Jim Cantori from the Weather Channel interviewed a guy who’s going to ride it out in his well constructed (and rebuilt) business which is located right on Pensacola Beach. It looks good…I hope the guy is right.

Quiet outside right now.
Ora pro nobis.
