Our prayers are with you.

I tell you God does answer prayers regarding hurricanes. When I lived in South Texas (the tip) a Category V hurricane was heading our way. Some strong Catholics on both sides of the river were praying rosaries and praying to the Saints and going to mass when not fixing up their homes. Guess what? That hurricane hit neither side. It went straight up the river with minimal damage to life and property.

St. Michael the Archangel, please protect Church Militant from the storm. :gopray2:

***As of 1am(EST), Hurricane Dennis has winds of 135mph, making it a Category 4 hurricane. It has the potential to grow stonger before it hits land this afternoon or evening. ***

Keep praying for all who are in the path of this hurricane!

***Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of death. Amen. ***

Good luck and Godspeed to all of you in the Florida panhandle, and coastal Alabama and Mississippi.

This one’s hitting close to home…I went to grad school in Tallahassee, and have lots of friends in the FL panhandle. And, I’m supposed to be moving to Mobile, AL next week…the moving truck comes on Tuesday, and I hope they’ll have somewhere to go. 😦

For a look at what these nasty storms can do take a look at the Pensacola-Tallahassee Diocese web site: www.ptdiocese.org.

I currently go to college in Alabama (but I’m not there right now, lucky me) and my Grandparents escaped out of Mobile today. They drove up to TN and said all the cars in the hotel parking lots had Alabama license plates on them. I pray that nobody loses a home to this storm.

Glad to hear your grandparents got out Sanctus. I heard all of Mobile County had mandatory evacuation, as well as Baldwin south of I-10.

Yeah, they are actually in Baldwin County…they said that I-65 was only Northbound to Montgomery.

Dear Lord,

Hear our plee to keep so many of your dear children safe. We have an extra special plea for our members to be looked over, especially Church Militant and his family. Hear this plee. In your holy name, dear Jesus Christ.

Amen

Heavenly Father, watch over and protect your servant Church Militant and his family during this storm and always.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give is this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Blessed mother, please intercede and pray for your Son’s servant Church Militant and his family during this storm and always.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with the. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
All of our thoughts and prayers are with you my friend. And as you already know, and have reminded me personally before, God has all things under control and set for his purpose.
Matthew 6:26-34
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith?
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat?' or What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.
Hang in there my friend (or on safer ground, whatever the case may be), and God be with you!
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end. Amen.
Peace in Christ,

DustinsDad

8:00 am Update: Beach Cam

Rain bands moving through. Gentle wind mostly and some rain, but not really bad. We’re as ready as we can be and it seems that there are many others who are staying as well. Curfew begins at 6pm through noon Monday. Land fall could be here or East of us (which is better for us) as early as noon.

Has made a slight jog North which, if it continues, will spare us the worst of of it all, but forecast says no way to tell yet.

We went for a short drive to get a couple of small missions accomplished that I had forgotten. Many houses boarded up but most (like us) are not. very little traffic, though that was about an hour ago.

One of the great concerns on the beaches around here is that there are still big piles of debris in places and houses that have not been repaired which will become flying/floating damaging debris for other places around them.

A bouy 115 miles out in the Gulf is reporting waves of 30-35 feet every 13 seconds.

We are far enough inland that the flooding won’t be a problem. We are in a constant state of prayer within our hearts.

Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. 🙂
Pax vobiscum,

I am getting ready to attend Mass. I will pray for all those in the Hurricane path who cannot attend Mass.

Winds now up to 145. Let’s not forget our friends in La., brotherhrolf and dumspirospero, and any others I missed. This thing is starting to look real wicked. Keep praying, y’all.

I am praying for all members in the Gulf Panhandle areas that will be effected by Dennis. May the Lord Bless You & Keep You Safe. We are having alot of rain on and off over in my area. Windy and stormy last night and it looks like the wind is picking up again. We are not in the danger area but for the people in the Hurricane vacinity, Tornadoes are a problem too so that’s a double whammy.:gopray2: :gopray2:

My prayers are with you, Church Militant. Another hurricane Dennis threatened our marriage plans in Aug. 1999. I got married on Hilton Head Island, SC on Aug. 28 of that year. We woke up that morning not knowing if we were getting married or getting evacuated. Thankfully, we were married! We have a picture of us holding the newspaper with the headline “Dennis Menaces the Coast”. May God keep the menace of the new Dennis from Church Militant. I’m praying for you and your family.

I live in the same metro area as you do, just further east. We may see some flooding due to the still saturated ground from the extreme volume of rainfall we experienced last week and tornadoes are always a possibility, but we will once again be spared the worst. For as many hurricanes that have hit our state in the past several months, we have definetly been fortunate in not having experienced a direct hit to our area. This storm has 145 mph winds with time to intensify before making landfall. May God keep CA forum members and their loved ones, and all others who are in the path of the storm safe.

Dear Lisa

MEMORARE

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

This little prayer I am offering for all those in the path of this hurricane as well as our forum member, Church Militant, may God keep them safe from every danger and evil in the palm of His Hand.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

You know, I think that we should all be thanking God. That hurricane decreased in strength very shortly before it hit Florida. It went from 135mph winds(Category 3) to 120mph winds(Category 2). That is a major difference in the amount of damage!!!

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers!
