Again, if that were true, there would be shootouts on every major street in the country, daily. Of COURSE societies force citizens to live the way of life the society thinks appropriate. And societies have multiple ways of doing it.

when I joined the Catholic Church I didn’t think that I was supposed to leave my brain at the doorstep and conform to absolutely every single doctrine and vote however someone else wants me to vote but I guess that’s what Catholicism is…

but as it is I don’t have a brain anymore my brain is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says forget about what the Constitution says lets just burn the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and all of our freedoms and let’s put the Bible and the catechism inside of the government because that is what we should do right?

Happens every election year. I am sure we will also get the usual “its OK to vote for pro-abortion candidates because the GOP is evil and I don’t personally support abortion anyway” posts

You have ask yourself a very simple question. “Does my faith form my politics or does my politics form my faith”?

The idea that we have to check our brains at the door to be Catholic is specious. And yes, we should put the teachings of the church ahead of the Constitution and Bill of rights-however I personally see no conflict between them
