I’m against abortion and I’m against same-sex marriage inside of the church like I’ve said many many times and the atheists who are against same-sex marriage are slim.

It doesn’t matter how few they are, the point is that holding that position is totally separable from religion. Unlike, say, requiring that all married couples in the US go through pre-Cana.

yes but its still wrong to discriminate against a certain group no matter who they are.

if you abolish all marriage laws then all marriage benefits go away and only religious officials will be able to marry people.
 
I can’t believe this thread hasn’t been closed yet. Its just going around in circles.
 
Again, if the Constitution is what is relied on then leave it to the States, they have long regulated marriage, “Cousins Marriages” are much different between States.

Washington might vote to legalize Marijuana, Utah keeps it illegal.

At the least barring a Constitutional Amendment, this is the way it should be, if Hawaii wants Same Sex Marriage and Alaska does not, the Federal Government again, should not force this on all people.

So what I’m seeing here in this thread, appears to be an argument for Same Sex Marriage.

No it’s not. Those with Same Sex Attraction have the Same Rights to Marriage as anyone else.

What you are talking about is Redefining Marriage for all people.

Would you agree that the law then does make certain rules that determine what a marriage is or isn’t and that it is necessary that the state make these rules?

Would you say a law that prevents same sex sibling from marrying is unjust discrimination? Why or why not? Don’t give me me the “yuck” factor. Gay marriage was a “yuck” factor just a few years ago. It still is for many of us.
