EPAN…I am on to you,You like playing the devil’s advocate, don’t you? This has to be the reason why all your posts, intended to denigrate Romney, actually more aptly apply to Obama. The Emperor has no clothes indeed!
A potential president’s analytical abilities has nothing to do with the topic?I didn’t say that. This thread is “Presidential Debate #2.” epan asked about believing in the Book of Mormon, magical thinking and failure of analytical abilities.
That has nothing to do with the topic.
Ad Hominem much?I’m sure that Romney must know that his plan won’t work. He is just trying to sell his tax cut with “voodoo economics”. Cutting tax rates has never netted an increase in revenues through increased economic activity. We know this from history. So, either he is telling us something which he knows to be false, or he actually believes what he says, even though he should know better. Take your pick.
But regardless of his failure there, one must worry about his immaturity and impulsivity. The President can call a missile strike. He can commit our forces almost instantly, with little accountability. We have seen how dangerous a president who lacks a sense of history and world affairs can be. We have even seen that combined with this same sort of childish narcissism. That cost us many lives and more than a trillion dollars.
Every religion has its “world view” in some sense. From what I have seen and heard, I think that the Mormon view comes across as childish in many ways. This is not just disagreeing with their paganism. There is a childish element to their world view. And it is striking how unsophisticated Mr Romney is for a man of his position and wealth. A female friend of mine is appalled by what his wife wears. I hadn’t really noticed, but it is part of a larger picture. He is not up to the job. Worse than that, he could be as dangerous as the last president. There are a number of similarities.
Could you cite that history?I’m sure that Romney must know that his plan won’t work. He is just trying to sell his tax cut with “voodoo economics”. Cutting tax rates has never netted an increase in revenues through increased economic activity. We know this from history.
It does have to do with the topic. But epan is accusing Romney of not being analytical because he is a Mormon, not because of anything he said in the debate.A potential president’s analytical abilities has nothing to do with the topic?![]()
Sam, you are just a child-like narcissist prone to magical thinking!Could you cite that history?
Not sure why I am bothering, TBH, but this is most certainly not history. RR’s tax cuts resulted in an explosion of revenue to the government, as did Bush’s. The problem wasn’t too little revenue, it was (and is) too much spending. No credible person disputes this.Cutting tax rates has never netted an increase in revenues through increased economic activity. We know this from history…
Kind of agree with you.Not sure why I am bothering, TBH,
More people working brings in more tax revenue.but this is most certainly not history. RR’s tax cuts resulted in an explosion of revenue to the government, as did Bush’s. The problem wasn’t too little revenue, it was (and is) too much spending. No credible person disputes this.
Please read through the thread and see the many non debate discussions on Obama, that no one has ‘complained’ about, or suggested moving. It does have to do with the topic. But epan is accusing Romney of not being analytical because he is a Mormon, not because of anything he said in the debate.
We should stick to what was said in the debate.
That’s a pretty key statement. No credible person disputes this.
It really is as simple as that.More people working brings in more tax revenue.![]()

There are Obama supporters in here too. Are you saying nobody here should say anything positive about Romney, or that if they do, they should also say something positive about Obama even if they don’t think there is anything positive to say about him? Please read through the thread and see the many non debate discussions on Obama, that no one has ‘complained’ about, or suggested moving.
The topic needs to be changed to ‘Come Campaign for Romney’.
Or already areThere are Obama supporters in here too. Are you saying nobody here should say anything positive about Romney, or that if they do, they should also say something positive about Obama even if they don’t think there is anything positive to say about him?
But never fear, the “seminar posters” will be here a little closer to the election just as they were in 2008, and you’ll get to hear plenty of Obama support.
No, there was a poster referring someone to another forum for questioning the analytical abilities of Romney because it is non debate related in their opinion; however, there are multiple posts, positive for Romney and negative for Obama that are non debate related. Is there as clear a double standard on this thread as it appears to be? Where were those invites in those cases? There are Obama supporters in here too. Ease up. I did not say you support Obama. You are complaining because you feel people in here are supporting/campaigning for Romney. If the balance is what you want to see, I merely tried to assure you that it’s likely to happen pretty soon, just as it did in 2008.No, there was a poster referring someone to another forum for questioning the analytical abilities of Romney because it is non debate related in their opinion; however, there are multiple posts, positive for Romney and negative for Obama that are non debate related. And again you make a false insinuation about me supporting Obama. That’s typical, or so it seems from these type forums. No one wants an objective approach to these discussions. That’s why I say it’s a clear cut campaign for Romney, but then the rules say campaigning is not allowed.![]()
I am complaining because when anyone asks a question about Romney there is a rush to hush it up, and in the instance I mentioned an invite to go to another forum.Ease up. I said nothing about anybody’s analytical abilities. I suppose such an analysis would relate to the debates since, presumably, one’s analytical abilities might be displayed in them, or perhaps not.
But I am not sure why there is a “double standard” in any of this. If more people think better of Romney than they do of Obama, why isn’t that just a matter of what they think?
It is stereotyping and it is racist to believe you know all kinds of things about a person based on their color or ethnic background or gender.I am complaining because when anyone asks a question about Romney there is a rush to hush it up, and in the instance I mentioned an invite to go to another forum.
Someone posted that people think Obama is poor because he looks black, and called it stereotyping and racist. There appears to be a racial stereotyping in that type post. ‘Because he looks black…?’ He is bi-racial and his race, one way or the other, has nothing to do with the debate whatsover. Of course when clarification was asked for, there was no response.
I came real close to talking myself into voting for Romney, but when I see his supporters acting the way they do in these forums, I think, ‘no, it’s better to not vote, or write in Ron Paul’, because I am not going to be associated with people that place partisanship above all things, in a most uncharitable way. There’s more behind the campaigning for Romney than meets the eye. It’s not about intrinsic evils. If some want to measure it, it’s the ‘little evil’ support of his that scares me.
