He will regret saying that, especially with the debate on monday
Exactly.Maybe a Constitutional Convention every 20 years might not have been such a bad idea. Now, we just rely on 9 Jusices to change it whenever they take a notion to!
I do not understand the uproar over that term. Guess those who find it offensive are too young to remember when that was a commonly used word for a file. But they have to have something to carp about.Obama visits the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, says four Americans getting killed is - ho-hum- not optimal.
“Here is what I will say, if four Americans get killed it is not optimal,”

With the latest gallup poll results showing Romney with a 7 point lead, its clear that more and more Americans view a 2nd Obama term as “not optimal.”
Wonder if this will replace the outrage over Romney’s “binders of women” comment?

The death of four Americans is never, I repeat never, acceptable. “Optimal” does not convey the same meaning when referring to the deaths of innocent Americans. Rather cold, don’t you think?I do not understand the uproar over that term. Guess those who find it offensive are too young to remember when that was a commonly used word for a file. Of all things, Mark Levin sent Rush Limbaugh an email yesterday.Obama visits the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, says four Americans getting killed is - ho-hum- not optimal.

From ABC 27:
Poll: Romney takes lead over Obama in Pa.
Mitt Romney has taken the lead over Barack Obama in Pennsylvania and now leads the President by a four-point margin, according to a new statewide poll.
The poll conducted by Susquehanna Polling and Research on behalf of the Republican State Committee of Pennsylvania found that 49 percent of likely voters now support Romney while 45 percent plan to vote for Obama.
Obama led Romney 50-46 percent in an SP&R survey conducted October 12-14. The latest poll was conducted 11-13, prior to Tuesday’s debate.
That is a really nice development. If accurate.
“Bumps in the road”? Or how about his “Just words speech”?The death of four Americans is never, I repeat never, acceptable. “Optimal” does not convey the same meaning when referring to the deaths of innocent Americans. Rather cold, don’t you think?
And even if we cut all of those funds to $0 (and let our vets starve), we’d still be operating at a big defecit.
If you eliminate every federal department and every federal employee (including the militiary) and shut down the entire federal government, you still can’t balance the budget!Cut all social welfare as well. Cut the military, cut welfare. That’s about 75% of your budget.
Our form of government requires an informed, engaged and empowered citizenry. It’s “we the people” – not politicians – who are the leaders. The threshold for exercising our leadership starts, but doesn’t end, with the hiring of public servants through the electoral process. We are not supposed to elect folks and forget about them; we have to be actively engaged. So whether you vote early, or on Election Day, your vote matters. Mattering even more is your commitment to being consistently engaged in public policy after Election Day!I still hope that you will vote for Romney, and then hold his feet to the fire from Day One.
Very good points! Yet anyone who proposes any signifigant cuts is accused of wanting to euthanize big bird, have women die of cancer, and throwing grandma over a cliff, while still in her wheelchair. If you eliminate every federal department and every federal employee (including the militiary) and shut down the entire federal government, you still can’t balance the budget!
Just look at the president’s budged for fiscal year 2013. In particular, look at page 212 in the “Summary Tables” section, which shows spending and outlays by fiscal year. Spending in fiscal 2012 is $3.796 trillion while tax receipts are only $2.469 trillion, resulting in a deficit of $1.327 trillion. Now take a closer look at the outlays. There are three categories: interest on the national debt, “mandatory” programs (including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and TARP), and “discretionary” programs (security-related expenditures for the military, FBI, CIA, etc; and non-security-related expenditures for everything else that the federal government spends money on).
Aside from the fact that the President’s budget considers TARP mandatory and security discretionary, if you simply cross out the line item for the entire federal government (i.e. all of the “discretionary” programs), the remaining cost ($2.477 trillion) exceeds all tax revenues.
Washington is uncontrollably addicted to borrowing.

Completely agree. The city and North County will go Obama. The rest of St. Louis County (West and South) will absolutely go Romney. MO went McCain in 2008.Boy, I don’t know about this map. It shows my state (Mo) “leaning” Romney. I think I know my state, and Obama is going to get mashed here this time around. He will get St. Louis City, Jackson County and Boone County more likely than not. Maybe one more in the old “lead belt”. Everywhere else, he will get crushed, including in the metropolitan counties of St. Louis which have a bigger population by far than the City.
What say you, qui est-ce and Scipio? (if you’re here) You live in the St. Louis metro area. Do you agree?
I think Mary was talking about binders. The death of four Americans is never, I repeat never, acceptable. “Optimal” does not convey the same meaning when referring to the deaths of innocent Americans. Rather cold, don’t you think?
twitter.com/ppppolls/status/259327551330197504Mitt Romney leads our new New Hampshire poll 49-48. Obama had led by 6-8 pts in our polling before the first debate
Yes, he has some explaining to do.He will regret saying that, especially with the debate on monday
Many things do not make sense, Obama needs to answer many questionsYes, he has some explaining to do.
Either:
1. He knew it was really a terrorist attack with military hardware and not a runaway demonstration over an obscure youtube video (somehow mysteriously targeted from among piles and piles of garbage on youtube). In which case, he lied to us, and sent out his people to lie to us for nearly two weeks. Why??? And does he think he can get away with that???
OR
2. He didn’t know and therefore who the heck is running our foreign policy if he doesn’t know these things? How can it be that a militaristic attack on an American Embassy takes place, complete with Rocket Powered Grenade Launchers, and he doesn’t catch on for 2 whole weeks???
I keep seeing that Romney is over 50% in the Galllup poll, but then every projection I see state-by-state still shows Obama in the lead with electoral votes.Just heard…
Romney has the biggest lead of any candidate back to and including 1976. Only Bush II was at 50% at this point in Gallup.*
- yes, I realize that you really can’t count 1980, 1992 and 1996 because of strong third party candidates
