By the way, I really don’t get the anger aimed at Megan Markle from a number of people on this thread.

Even Princess Grace? As far as British royal titles, Meghan is the first person who is not a British citizen to receive a title so it’s not like you are even given the opportunity.the “royalty” thing bugs me; americans shouldn’t take "TITLES’;
It depends a lot on whether that person is a princess royal, princess consort, dowager princess, and the country.exactly what is a “princess”, anyway?
Did someone have a wee on your Cheerios?dumb; UK better clean up their dole; little american catholic meg is about to be receiving your handouts
Not true. The C of E didn’t allow divorce and remarriage until the 21st centuryWell since the original purpose of the C of E was to facilitate divorce, I don’t see what the problem is. At least from their perspective.
Diana was never a princess ether. She was HRH The Princess Charles, Princess of Wales, but never Princess Diana (though the American media often called her that). She was Lady Diana by birth and had titles due to Charles.Not exactly. Her title will probably be HRH The Princess Henry, like Kate is HRH The Princess William. I don’t know about Diana, just that she lost the designation of HRH when she divorced.
Hmm…like I said…to facilitate a divorce.Not true. The C of E didn’t allow divorce and remarriage until the 21st century
The famous reason Henry VIII left the Catholic Church was to have his marriage annulled. The Pope said no, the Archbishop of Canterberry said yes.
Since Harry has a title, she probably has to have one, too. Oh, she has a “job.” Endless rounds of personal appearances, charity dinners, walkabouts, etc., and most of them sans Harry! Did you notice all the work Diana was doing for the Queen, even after her divorce from Charles? Sure, it’s nice to never have to worry about money, but I can’t understand why anyone would want the boring job of a “royal.”“meagahn” needs a job in UK; is she even visa eligible for one there?
Although Diana was allowed to keep the title, technically, Camilla is the Princess of Wales and has been since she married the Prince. And though she says she will not use the title of queen, technically, when Charles ascends the throne, Camilla will be Queen of England and Kate will be the new Princess of Wales to William’s Prince.Just to tie a knot on this: Meghan will most definitely be a princess — by marriage — as is the Duchess of Cambridge and as was the late Princess of Wales.

I find the whole “royalty” thing a bit outlandish, too. Most of the British have a hard time scraping by, but don’t care if their hard-earned tax money is used to keep these people in all their elegance and finery, catering to their every whim. Didn’t the US fight a revolution, and win, to free people from such silliness?the “royalty” thing bugs me; americans shouldn’t take "TITLES’; especialy ones we
