We make choices everyday, not to murder, not to rape, not to have an abortion.
Some choices are good, and others are evil. So while it is fair to say that Mary indeed express choice, it is even fairer to say that accepting God’s invitation as handmaid to the Lord was a great, wonderful choice, but to then decide to kill Jesus in the womb would be a downright evil one.

One can only wish that the nun may have expressed herself as such.

But who knows what kind of people are in the orders these days? Maybe the nun would feel better if Mary had aborted.

If you start down the slippery sloap it becomes easier and easier to deny church teaching , the 10 commanments and the authority of the Pope

She is not anyone I consider to be a Catholic in communion with Rome…I think she is a heretic

I agree with this woman, (ok, don’t get mad read on) Mary did excercise choice! She said yes to god rather than no to his will.

What did she say? “I am your handmaiden”. Yes a woman has a choice she can say yes to what god has created or she can say no and deal out death. What if Mary had said no? She had that right of free will. We could all still be lost in dispare knowing we could never attain heaven but she said yes I will do your will and she has said yes ever since!

Yes, I will lead you home. Yes when you are down I will show you the promise of the lord! Yes, when you feel so soiled with sin you fear to approach the lord I will make it alright. I will be the one to comfurt you and hand you over to him because with out him no yes would have ever been worth it. yes I understand your hurt. Yes I love you as a woman loves their child. I do not deal out death but rather a Yes to life eternal. Yes, Yes, yes.

This “person” has taken it to mean Mary would have ever said “no”. No I will not give you hope, No I will not comfurt you my life is to important my problems to big you will just add to them. I wonder has she ever felt the love of our lord? ever heard his voice in the pitts of dispare? Has she ever felt so soiled she could not call on him the one so perfect that was because of just one yes? Has she ever thought about the No’s she helped? Has she ever thought of God as the one who grants us life, a soul from the moment that there is “Matter?” Has she ever thought about the passage where it is said “choose LIFE so you and your DECENDANCE may live!”

A fundamental belief in the Catholic Church is that the Pope has infallibility. SO many popes have used this and have condemned abortion. Does she doubt the Pope’s infallibility? If so, I’m going to have to recommend she be stripped of her title as a nun. Where’s all the Mother Teresa’s and Mother Angelica’s when you need them?
