Pro-Israel at any cost?

I’ve always believed Israel having a right to their promised land and Jerusalem their Capital, but at what cost?

With the recent Israeli Defense Forces setting up snipers killing anybody trying to cross the Gaza border is just inhumane, immoral, and wrong.

Its sad seeing the oppressed now being the oppressor.

Exodus 23:9
9 You shall not oppress a resident alien; you know the heart of an alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

Thanks for the prayers. I think I moved it to Social Justice.
 
Since it is in the Social Justice forum now, I believe discussion can be had. Please refrain from making rash, sweeping judgement of Israel; I trust we all remember the latest brouhaha about the 62 “innocent civilians” shot by the IDF, 50 od which then turned out to be Hamas terrorists.

That said, prayers are needed and I will say some tonight for this intention.

Now that is extremist hate against Israel. Lets not go there. They are God’s Chosen people that have gone astray.

We need to pray for Israel’s leaders, and US leaders who back them unconditionally to stop the violence.
 
I think the problem is Netanyahu. He is a bloody man who
always reaches for the sword at the least trouble. I hope for
his downfall along with Assad & Putin & the Ayatollah

I think there should be two states , one for the Palestinians and one for the Israelis .

As for Jerusalem , considering the religious character of the city for Jews , Muslims and Christians , it needs an internationally guaranteed special status .

As for the recent killings of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers , well it was simply murder .

Catholics uphold the sovereignty of nations but the Church hasn’t historically given Israel a free pass simply because it’s Israel or because of the book of Exodus or Joshua.

I certainly don’t subscribe to “Pro-Israel” at any cost, however, I think making broad brush statements is not a good thing either.

I’ve been to Israel. I visited the port city of Haifa, which has a relatively large % of Muslims (like 20% of total). Very peaceful…no issues…no violence. What is different between those Muslims and the ones in Gaza? If Israel is the “oppressor”, why no violence against Israeli Muslims?

I agree that there certainly appeared in the news to be disproportionate force against in the Gaza uprising…if so, I don’t condone it. I’m specifically commenting about what I felt was an overly broad comment.
