It was a question, not a statement, and yes, I do think it helps. It’s easy to talk about refugees in the abstract, but these people aren’t abstractions. They’re real people with real customs and real ideals and real values, many of which are incompatible with our own. Do you want to import polygamy, female genital mutilation, and some of the other cultural pathologies of the Muslim world? These are relevant questions when we talk of accepting refugees.
Racism personified.
Keep talking. You’re a great example of your cause.

The movement you talk about needs to be pro livelife, pro life, until so many are trying to change the meaning, simply means “I am against killing the most innocent” and not “how do I help people live a safer/better life.”
Anyway.
I want to address the second half of your post.
I don’t feel the pro-life movement needs to change the meaning, just change tactics. Be more in line with what the Catholic Church regards as being pro-life.
Let me give you an example. In ancient Rome it was common to leave unwanted children on roads to die of exposure or wild animals. The early Church would take these children and raise them as their own, some of them grew up to be Saints. They didn’t look to Rome for answers to stop this atrocity, they simply took matters into their own hands. And there was no greater anti-life government than ancient Rome.
Perhaps we need to look to the early Church to see how they handled a similar situation.

The person in the article seems to have thought that at one time. Perhaps fake news then? Or maybe a poor characterization of the pro-life movement which is clearly not a ‘stop at the water’s edge movement’ nor has it ever been for a vast majority of it’s adherents?
It’s fake news, to portray all Christians should be against Trump’s temp ban, and that unlimited migration is the ‘Christian thing’ to do.

The UN Agreement on Refugees signed in the 1950’s clearly lays out how the developed world should humanely respond to such crisis. (Hint - shipping people half way around the world is not the answer)

Were some of you not paying attention to last Sundays first Mass reading from the Prophet Isaiah…

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 73

** Reading 1 Is 58:7-10**

*Thus says the LORD:
Share your bread with the hungry,
shelter the oppressed and the homeless;
clothe the naked when you see them,
and do not turn your back on your own.
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn,
and your wound shall quickly be healed;
your vindication shall go before you,
and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer,
you shall cry for help, and he will say: Here I am!
If you remove from your midst
oppression, false accusation and malicious speech;
if you bestow your bread on the hungry
and satisfy the afflicted;
then light shall rise for you in the darkness,
and the gloom shall become for you like midday. *
Yup, I cooked and served dinner at the local homeless mothers shelter on Tuesday. FOR FREE.

I admit, I don’t love polygamy, or female genital mutilation, or the death penalty for homosexuals and I’d prefer not to import them.
If you replaced this with stereotypes for Jews, what would you have?
And ya’ll wonder why we bring up the Nazis.

Indeed! Looks like they have been taking lessons for a 20th century fascist tyrant…see below…

Goody for you…none of our business and irrelevant to this discussion. Just another deflection…

Is Muslim a race now? When did that happen?

I don’t wonder why you bring up Nazis at all. Nazi is just a word you use for “things I dislike”. You’re also apparently ignorant of the cultural differences between the Middle East and Europe.

Has anybody else noticed that 3 or 4 posters have recently shown up to blow up the forums with name calling?

We can be both pro-refugee AND support Donald Trump’s current policies! :yup: 👍

Accusing people of being Nazis, who definitely are not, comes from the lips of the Devil, the accuser of the brethren.
