Problem with movies always have naked women

I am not insecure at all. I think of myself as a very strong and secure women. But I have problem when excessive female nudity in movies that are placed only to pleasure men.

My problem is that movies show the “privates” of a women in front of my SO. No story requires that for the plot.

The scene was pointless, unnecessary, and unexpected. It is immoral to film this trash and showed it to kids and men.
I feel bad for the girls who are paid to be broadcast to kids and men everywhere. This content should not be shown in family entertainment where viewers did not sign up to see that.

My issue is that is disrespectful of women to show exposed women purley to shock the audience. While some scenes are acceptable, most are not.

I agree with you that this content should not be shown in family entertainment. Unfortunately, sex sells, so unless we turn off our televisions when those shows come up I don’t see how things will change.

It also gives men the wrong thought of how most women look. It sets up unrealistic images of women and objectifies women.

I agree with you and look forward to the thoughts of others.
 
I agree with you that naked women, including topless, are often not necessary to the movie plot and it’s annoying that so many are in films that families or just individuals not expecting nudity might view. It’s caused some embarrassing situations for me when viewing a movie with a family group.

The movies have a long tradition of throwing titillating scenes like a woman undressing into a film to get attention. When the censors were not allowing actual nudity or sex, the filmmakers came up with all sorts of subtle allusions to sex where everybody stayed dressed or the nakedness happened off screen. Often these scenes were sexier or more effective than if they showed a naked woman, as they left it to the viewer’s imagination. But this sort of hinting seems to be a lost art.

Plus there is a huge double standard in US films whereby it’s okay to show female nakedness, but showing a full frontal of a naked man makes it into porn. I don’t see any difference between the two.
 
Sad isn’t it.
I chose not to have tv for years,selected DVDs and used the remote fast forward…or just flicked it of as soon as the movie looked off.Wouldnt look at someone in real life naked,so don’t do it on the screen.

This is becoming more common. This is HBOs modus operandi. It is at best lazy. There is simply a lot of garbage out there. I find very little television or movies worth watching anymore.
 
You might consider watching less television and/or movies. It may be difficult, especially when family or SO have favorite shows or are in the habit of watching anything. You could start by turning off the TV for meals or during certain hours. Put away other flat-screen devices as well. You’ll be glad you did.

In my own experience, this created a sort of “positive feedback loop.” The less I watched, the more I became aware of how shallow, inane, unimaginative, and psychologically manipulative most TV shows and many movies are. This made it easier to cut back.

I hardly watch any television anymore. The only reason I still keep cable is for news, sports, occasiobal true crime, and the occasional old movie or old TV show from my childhood. There have been less than five series in the last 20 years I’ve wanted to see. It’s not so much because of naked ladies as it is just boring and I don’t have the time to watch it.

This is true for me as well. But, I still find myself surfing (Netflix now since we no longer have cable) looking for something to watch. My point is while I don’t watch much I can still find myself wasting time looking for something to watch. So it would seem it is important to find new ways to fill that time.

Yes, even knowing about it, sometimes I still fall for it. At the moment, we have neither cable nor Netflix, but when we visit my in-laws or stay in a motel, I feel the pull.
 
I can’t remember the last time I saw a naked woman in a film, as for seeing women’s privates in a film I don’t think ever.
 
One of the reasons why I very rarely watch television and hardly go to the movies at all is just this kind of shock factor rubbish. There was a time when I would speak to people who didn’t imbibe television on a regular basis and wonder how on earth they did it, but have found that just having the self control to turn off the set a few times means I watch less, and the less I watch, the less I want to watch. Very handy.

I mostly listen to the radio, and my station of choice is a classical music one. Thankfully you’d have to work pretty darn hard to shoehorn a shock explicit reference into that!

This is true for me as well, and in fact the original post kind of surprised me. Are these R-rated movies?

Definitely not the type of things I see in films.

Unfortunately what is worse and in abundance in the UK at the moment is gay men kissing each other, even in adverts now.
 
sex is being sold everyyyywhere. watched any burger commercials lately? crazy.
 
I agree. It’s not uncommon to see a woman’s chest exposed in films, but full on nudity? You still don’t see that in mainstream films. I go to the movies a lot… once or twice a month and watch a wide variety of genres.
Now television is different. HBO, as another poster mentioned, often shows nudity but even then I don’t think they go so far as to show “private parts” - chest or rear for men and women perhaps.
 
HBO does, Game of Thrones doesn’t do it frequently but you see everything on both the men and the women.
 
We are increasingly avoiding TV etc because of this sort of content being ever more impossible to avoid.
 
I wouldn’t watch any of that garbage. Nowadays people are watching Game of Thrones which is the most trashy worthless piece of garbage concocted by Satan! Sex sells and I’m not buying any of it. Man or woman it doesn’t matter. It’s not modest and Jesus certainly wouldn’t watch this filth! Would the Blessed Mother approve? I think not.

That’s the reality of the world.

Sex sells; young sex sells more.

Feminists would have a hard time with you as a member… they think that self-exploitation is ok because it ‘empowers women.’ It is the reason why you don’t find them fight hollowood’s debasing of women.

…but don’t be hard on the bad scripts and poor plots… hollowood believes that people are not intelligent enough to handle anything but boobs and butts and profanity… it does not matter that things don’t make sense; all that matters is that tickets/air time sells.

Sadly, the Catholic Church and the rest of Christendom are not united enough to create a family medium (movies, shows, programing) that can counter the sexually charged programs (which includes commercials and children’s programs).

The best I can offer is pre-view movies and programs before you watch with your children.
