Hi!
Sorry for the misunderstandings.
Um…actor is a job, gender is not necessary. And “sir”? What are you talking about? I need a context. Women don’t have to be sir, they are called “madam.” If sir is used then it’s the convention of the organization not have women members or have them in leadership positions. The Gloria Steinems of the world didn’t promote the idea of women being called sir. That’s just silly. You’re losing me…
I’m talking about the pseudo respect that it pretends; films and shows addressing women as “actor” or, in a military scene, as “sir” to pretend to denote respect for the female–yet this comes at the price of the female having to morph into a male personal.
No. Do you not see the hollowood syndrome being played out where the female must accept the womanizer, cheater, abuser, disabler or she has no value in a relationship? (Tangent: recently I was schooled on the evils of feminism; it seems that a man can’t slap a woman to put her in her place anymore–this is the romantic notion of machismo being translated to 'my baby’s father or my other baby’s father.)
So what is being sold, is that faux-diamond encrusted tiara (pretense of respect:
jcrichton:
Today more than any other time (internet) women, at least in the free world, can speak loudly against those issues and stop taking the faux diamond-encrusted tiara as the sign of respect.
Wut? Are you talking about pageants?
) and 'women can’t but accept ‘life as it is.’
Human dignity demands that females be treated with the same respect accorded to males–even if their job is simply (which is a misnomer) running the home.
Women have always been industrious. It has been certain cultures, patriarchal cultures that have diminished the roles women could have and blamed them for the failings of men. Big man-babies abused their physical strength and oppressed women. Men are willing to hand off power and some, most it seems, are really reluctant to share it with women
Exactly; what I am saying is that females must not emulate the wickedness of the morally corrupt but fight for their rights even if it means that they are not as well-off financially or even if their “progress” are met with scorn, disdain, and obstacles.
You know what? Bandages are probably all we got. It’s not like there is a one-size-fits-all solution. You may think “if only thus and so would happen then all would be swell” but it probably will suck for me. Your idea doesn’t have more credibility than mine, except that it will because you are a man. Two layers of superficiality: that your idea is better and it must be better because you are a man
But that’s just it; you should not accept that. You should challenge me (the world) but do so not to be me or allow me to patronize you… demand an equal exchange by proposing and doing what is conductive to human dignity.
Maran atha!
