It would be best if all parties refrained from name-calling and other low-down activity so the thread may continue in a Christian manner.

Thank you, Ricko. I apologize if I offended anyone. You are a kind person. So are many, many Catholics. No surprise there.

If When God is with you who can be against you. Stand your ground next time.
I agree with the first above sentence. I had no need, however, to “stand my ground.” I have nothing to prove, no need to fight or bicker or name-call.

When the Bible says Christ taught with authority, not as the scribes, it was partly because He had studied the scriptures as a youth. So did I, and do it still. The Bible is a wonderful book, the word of God. My words carry conviction because I have knowledge of what I am talking about.

Of course not. I said I did not need to rely on Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon for that doctrine, because I know the doctrine for myself. I don’t know it for you or for anyone else, but for myself (and if my children asked about it, I could testify of it to them).

That is what personal revelation is all about. You folks have said you have personal revelation that guides your life. Well, then why are you asking me about this?
Because every so often a Mormon gets it into his head that his personal revelation makes him the new prophet and he goes off to form a splinter group (usually polygamous) and declares himself the mouthpiece of God etc, etc. We have had several of those here in the past few years - just wanted to know if your were another one, seeing as how you are so vocal about your revelations.

Catholics do get personal revelation - but we usually don’t talk about it ('cuz, you know, it’s personal).

Years before the alleged plates were found Joseph Smith already had fantasized in his mind the beginnings of the Book of Mormon:

For example, Lucy Smith wrote:

“During our evening conversations, Joseph would occasionally give us some of the most amusing recitals that could be imagined. He would describe the ancient inhabitants of this continent, their dress, mode of travelling, and the animals upon which they rode; their cities, their buildings, with every particular; their mode of warfare; and also their religious worship. This he would do with as much ease, seemingly, as if he had spent his whole life with them.”10
Rick,
His mother was writing about when Joseph would describe the visions and dreams he was allowed to envision during the time between when he had first been visited by the angel Moroni (who had been the last Book of Mormon prophet) in 1823, and four years later when he was finally allowed to obtain the sacred records. He was visited by the angel Moroni one day every year for three succeeding years, as requested by the angel. He was being instructed about the people he was going to be privileged to write about. He was excited the more he learned about them, and shared it with his family–another evidence that he did not “make up” or “plagiarize” the Book of Mormon.

Thanks again for your kind remark.

Yes, you do have to Stand your Ground. do you believe in the bible? if you do, then 1Peter 3:15 states: Always be Prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" Bible says you need to stand your ground and be ready. Paul said to timothy also to be ready to give an acount to all men. Bible says you must be ready and must stand your ground.

I will not refrain from Calling out Cowardice when it is Shown. Christ did not remain silent. He called out the Pharisees and demanded an answer. He called them Broods of Vipers. Hypocrites. You want this thread in a Christian manner prepare for war.

OK, so when I was told Catholics receive personal revelation, I was told wrong. I thought so…
You misread the quote:
"Throughout the ages, there have been so-called ‘private’ revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church.
The several approved apparitions of the Blessed Virgin are an example of approved private revelations (private revelations that were witnessed by many people and were subsequently judged by the Church to be not in conflict with accepted doctrine). The vast majority of private revelations are known only to the person who receives them. Unlike Mormons, we don’t talk or brag about them because they are private.

I had already given you the reason for the hope that I have–Christ is the reason.

Christ sought to bring peace, not war. You’re familiar with His teaching, “Peace I leave with you.” His gospel is a gospel of love. Love is the foundational principle. That is evident all through the New Testament.

You may want to learn about the “ignore” feature available on this forum; it is accessed from your profile. I have found it very useful and a great time-saver. 😉

Despite your “Bye”, I am glad to see that you seem to be sticking it out.

You have not been wasting your time. I have been reading your posts with great interest. I suspect that, like me, a lot of people on this forum do 100 times more reading than posting.

DarkKnight, as you have so dubbed him, seems to be quite a character. I believe he has presented you with some good opportunities to share your faith.

If I go straight to Hell for being a Mormon, as a non-demoinational Protestant megachurch pastor in my area assures everyone that I will, then I fully expect to meet DarkKnight there. It should be quite a row. I hope DarkKnight agrees that eyeballs gouged out must be handed back in a timely manner.

BTW: Your brief remark about paying a priest for forgiveness was discordant with the rest of your posts. This is not 1500.

Thanks for your posts.

William

Yet you also leave out the fact that Jesus, Said I come with a message of Peace, and he also said I came to divide, To set Father against Son, Mother Against Daughter, Brother Against Brother.

Love is a Foundational Principle yes. But Jesus Came to Heal the Broken and sick. We are the Broken and the Sick. When the Broken and Sick are healed under Jesus it is our Duty and our Right To preserve and Defend the word of God, even till Dea.th and Violently if necessary. The bible says Heaven Suffers Vio.lence , and Violent men take it by Force. As Catholics and Believers in the almighty word of God and Knights of our Faith it is Our Sacred duty to stop the fight against the Venomous lies of the Devil. That is exactly what the BOM is. A lie, A venomous one, Full of Blasphemy against God and Jesus Christ.

Some one said that they expect to see me in Hell. I doubt you will. Here is why. I know who I belong to. I belong to the God and Christ of the OT and NT. I am son of the King and Prince and Co-heir to Jesus Christ. I am a Knight in the Army of the King. I Know i can walk confidently into the throne room of Christ. I know this because the Love of God transcends all and while we were still Sinners Christ died for us. And according the To the bible I stand behind Jesus White Horse and not in front of him. Which is the Last place you want to be.

You all also seem to confuse my Zealotry with Hatred towards people. I dont Ha.te anyone. I Ha.te the lie. I only Called some one a coward because they did not answer up to the claims against them. I was a Coward too. I did not Answer him about the words on the temple. WE are all not perfect and there can never be Perfect Knights. I Ha.te the Lie of Mormonism. I will fight it till the day i die, Even if it costs me everything, even if it costs me my Name and pride. I will fight that lie till the father calls me Home and says "Well done Good and Faithful servant.

Knight, you seem to fight the “lie” of Mormonism with more lies, as you have yet to address the Satanic phrases found on the temple.

Here is another Part that makes Mormonism a lie.

Mormons Believe that Jesus Died on the Cross? Right?

Then he rose from the De.ad right?

THen he went to the Americas? right?

If that is all right, then either the word of God or the mormons are lying. One of them has too be. here is Why.

According to the Mormons Jesus and God are two different People. God is the only being that can be Omni Present. The bible says so. So that means that according mormons Jesus can not be in two places at once. That means when he told his Apostles he was going to heaven to prepare a place for us. That he went to heaven and is there now. because he said the next time he would leave heaven he would return upon a white horse in the clouds coming to judge the living and the de.ad . Mormons however say that he died and rose again and then went to america. why would he tell his Disciples that he is going to prepare a place for us and then go to America, that is Lying. He said one thing and did another. So either mormons are lying or Jesus is. which is it?

Your inability to answer a simple question, aka “what are the Witchcraft/Satanic phrases found on the temple, that you took pictures of and had analyzed by a Greek/Latin expert” speaks more than your copy/pasting of the typical anti-Mormon website information. At least you could read our actual beliefs from our actual sources and then come up with critical arguments. Please reread all of your questions, as they have many fundamental misunderstandings of LDS theology.

why don’t we start with your original statement-there is Satanic/Witchcraft writing/phrases on Mormon temples, or at least the one you went to. I say, there isn’t, as I have been to the temple many times and have never seen that. Now can you provide proof of your statement that began my questioning, or were you making that up?

Ok, so he was receiving visions in his dreams of what was to be? Is this documented somewhere?

I am biting my tongue.

I still have yet to see any explanation as to the use of Common Greek words like “Christ”, “Apostles”, and so forth when these “Jews” supposedly left Israel prior to the conquest of Alexander and the spread of Hellenism and the Greek language.

I still have yet to see an explanation of how Jesus’ name could be known to these “Jews” before it was announced to Mary by the angel or before His ministry in Israel.

I still have yet to see evidence that native americans spoke Greek or Hebrew or Aramaic or any derivative of these languages since they would have to be the descendents of, or would at least have definitely come in contact with, these “Jews”.
