This seems to be an argument for rigidity. What happens if one genuinely comes to the conclusion that the reforms one would desire to institute are no longer needed, or worse, perhaps you don’t even agree with your own goal? My world view has certainly changed over time, and I’d hate to imagine myself rigidly bound to the beliefs and philosophies I held when I was 20. Nor do I desire that I be so inflexible that my views are unaltered when I’m 70.

Time seems to be running out on this thread.

Last call for a source for this Chesterton quote:
I forgot to say, that Chesterton says Catholicism is like the former. Catholicism has wanted to paint the world blue for 2,000 years. Its had the same goal the whole time. And, we have made progess.
I have reason to question that it is from ORTHODOXY, but wherever it came from, I’d add it do my Chesterton quote file.

The progressive movement in our country isn’t in the business of good science or better health, instead it is in the form of moral decay. In my opinion, for some, that’s done on purpose to destroy the family and destroy the country.
Liberalism Is A Sin

https://www.ewtn.com/library/theology/libsin.HTM

Liberalism “is, therefore, the radical and universal denial of all divine truth and Christian dogma, the primal type of all heresy, and the supreme rebellion against the authority of God and His Church. As with Lucifer, its maxim is, ‘I will not serve.’”

Liberalism Is A Sin
That sure is an edgy piece of writing. I don’t think it applies to what we in the US would call liberalism today, mainly because, by definition, liberalism’s root word is liberty, which includes freedom of, and protection of religious freedoms.

The author, a Spanish priest circa 1880’s, seems to be advocating a marriage of religion and politics similar to that of what the religion of Islam has.
