This seems to be an argument for rigidity. What happens if one genuinely comes to the conclusion that the reforms one would desire to institute are no longer needed, or worse, perhaps you don’t even agree with your own goal? My world view has certainly changed over time, and I’d hate to imagine myself rigidly bound to the beliefs and philosophies I held when I was 20. Nor do I desire that I be so inflexible that my views are unaltered when I’m 70.
