I thought Justice Thomas was a “RE-VERT” [not that I like the trm … it just seems to be common language 🤷 ]

But perhaps he was a convert 🙂 … left the faith  … then came back 👍
I’m not sure about Judge Thomas. I was just pointing out that Laura Ingraham, who is a convert, worked for him.🙂

Was Oscar Wilde a convert or a revert?
A convert, on his deathbed : he had started taking instruction (at the Brompton Oratory - one of the most wonderful Catholic churches and institutions in England) some decades earlier, but didn’t follow through and was never received into the faith at that time.

Ann Widdecombe (Conservative politician in the UK).

GK Chesterton (author and apologist)

King Charles II (possibly converted on his deathbed)

King James VII & II (Charles’ brother, definitely and very publicly a convert, for which he lost the British throne)

John Beccos, Patriarch of Constantinople and Michael VIII Paleologos, Byzantine Emperor, after the 2nd Council of Lyons in 1275!

The Kirishitan of Japan, including numerous daimyo, or feudal lords

And all these people:

I love that list! Neat!

[Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh quoted Chesterton. I’m wondering about Limbaugh; he sounds more Catholic than me.]

Columnist and TV political analyst Robert Novak.

Sir Alec Guinness

Source please. I don’t mean to be in your face but I read and love doing so about early American history. I have never seen that referenced even indirectly.
Well, we have a legend, but we don’t know for sure. So, maybe, and maybe not. It’s said to be a deathbed conversion.

So basically a “wive’s tale”. That is what I thought. Thank you for replying.

One of the actors who played one of the Romans who performed the scourging during the scourging scene, of “The Passion of the Christ” converted to Catholicism from Islam.

I found that out from reading an interview with Jim Caviezel who mentioned it.

John Wayne has a thing for hispanic women and culture. The Catholic thing does not surprise me. I met him when I was a kind entering a private club in my country were he owned property.
My now late Dad told me look, he is John Wayne, I had no idea who he was. He owned land in my country.

At the Battle of Fredricksburg during the civil war, a Union officer, maybe a general, watched as the Irish Brigade gathered for absolution just before their famous assault. This officer watched as the Brigade dropped on their knees as if shot and after their blessing went to their formations and did what the Brigade was famous for. This officer decided that he wanted to be part of this and converted. I have not yet found his name in my archives. Any help would be appreciated.
By the way the list of famous converts of the 20th century neglected to publish my name so I will have that corrected as soon as possible ( no less than 20 years).
