It’s possible. After all, the Jewish passover utilized the literal body and blood of the passover lamb.
Chris if you beleive then how can you not receive your Lord. I would think someone who beleives in the Real Presence would stop at nothing to go to the Lord and be filled with this Grace. What your doing is defiling the sacrafice our Lord went through.

The Eucharist is what will help you further your understanding in all the Catholic Doctrine…

Pray about it please>>>Peace***

Chris, I found you a link on excommunication

catholicdoors.com/faq/qu158.htm

Hope this helps you better understand the Church’s veiw. I must admit I learned a thing or two myself. I can defently understand your concerns much more now. Im glad you opened my eyes on this subject, Thank you…

Keep in mind that there is no public excommunication required. But I can see the advantage in doing it because I think it would open alot of eyes to the problem. But as of right now the Church isnt doing anything wrong. According to its own law its not required. With that being said maybe they should change the cannon law at least towards public figures who claim to be catholics.

Ps. I still think if you beleive in the Eucharist you should convert. That alone should make you want to be catholic…

Peace and Thanks Brother

I just don’t like the idea that the guy sitting next to me in the pew could be a practicing abortionist.

Hi Cris, 👋

If you go “anywhere” the guy sitting next to you could be a practicing abortionist, good reason to stay home isn’t it? Unless someone comes and visits or deliver food, they could be a practicing abortionist. Better head to Montana and live like a hermit. But don’t buy anything, the guy selling things to you might be a practicing abortionist! 🙂

Some people are too precious for words!😃 😃 😃

God Bless**

honestly. i’m beginning to think it’s comments like these that reveal a cry for attention, rather than a sincere dialogue about Jesus’ Church.

this is not the “convert Chris LaRock after he makes obvious excuses” thread.

Well I don’t see how anyone can judge another human being. How can anyone say who is worthy of going to communion. Who know what that person has confessed or hasn’t?
It seems pretty obvious by the way they speak and act in public. How can any educated Catholic say they are “pro-choice”?
Code:
Now if a person goes to communion and is in sin, and is not aware of it. that is another bag of worms. But any person who is Catholic and values the faith knows that they cannot go to communion if they are in a state of sin. And if they value their faith and know it why would they bring down that upon themsleves.
That is his point. These people don’t value themselves.
Code:
I mean what good would it do them. Again the Church teaches this, if you are in a state of sin, No communion. Thats it.
The issue is not about the Teaching of the Church, but the enforcement of the teaching. These people appear to be committing grave sins in public, then go to communion and behave as if they are right with God.
Code:
And I don't see when any of us can stand in judgement of another human being. Like my Mother said you confess your sins let me confess my own. And like my Dad always said when you get done with your own sins you won' t have time to worry about any one else.:D
LOL. Well, I agree with you, but Chris is much more pure of heart than you and I. He can afford to harbor righteous indignation against those who he perceives are not right with God,and insist that they be publicly shamed and separated from the Body in a most noticable manner. By this means of “aggression” he will know which is the true church.

Such a comment reveals a man that does not know his own shadow. Sitting next to a murderer gives you a chance to pray for him. Jesus did not spurn being crucified between criminals, so why should we think we deserve better? We are called to pour out our lives in service to the ungrateful.

While we were yet sinners, He died for us, and calls us to follow Him in this by taking up our cross, and followng Him. If he wants to seat us next to a murderer, then it behooves us to intercede for such a one.

This is part of laying down our lives for others - we give up all of our expectations and righteousness, and esteem others more worthy than ourselves to enter the kingdom before us. He who is forgiven much, loves much.

Well said…We are told to NOT partake in the sin but we are called to reach out to the sinners…

As St. Francis said, “There go I be it not for the Grace of God”

In other words Chris, that could be you sitting next to someone who hates you for being an abortionist if it wasn’t for God’s Grace.

21 Or has not the potter the right to make out of one part of his earth a vessel for honour, and out of another a vessel for shame?

Be greatful God made you in His Image and chose to make you a vessel for honour. Don’t let Him Down 😃

So tell me Chris what if you had free front row seats to the superbowl, but one catch, the guy sitting next to you was a practicing abortionist, would that keep you from going to the superbowl?:hmmm:

Or lets say someone you love confesses that at one time she had a abortion, don’t get me wrong I am against them but I am also against not being forgiven for making a horrible mistake. But lets say they tell you they did and can’t forgive themselves either, so they go to Church, confess, and ask God for forgiveness.:bighanky: What do you think father should do?:blackeye:

Good point rinnie! 👍

Or riding the bus, or sitting in class, etc. etc.

I am looking forward to a response to this. :clapping:

Greetings sister***

While I agree with you in about everything you say I researched what the teachings of the church are on abortion and forgiveness for such a crime against the innocense of humanity and I was surprised to say the least. I was always told when we sin we can confess our sins and be forgiven by a Priest of our choice. Well I found out that is not always the case. A Priest CAN"T forgive a person who has blood on there hands for an abortion in any fashion. Even if you took a person to get one or even told a person to get one your excommunicated if that person goes through it and if they do anything prior from that date it is null and void in the churches eyes. Only a Bishop can grant your forgiveness in this matter and reunite you to the Church. So even if you partake in an abortion and years later get married your not married in Gods eyes and your living in sin. This is the true teachings of the Church. So Chris makes a good point on why in the matter of an abortion there should be a greater out cry from its church to make the church teachings clear. All other sins can be forgiven but abortion can **not **be forgiven by your parish priest…

Peace unto you***

I didn’t know that either. But thank God for the leaders he left us! And thank God we don’t have to have that sin on us. But as much as I hate to say sometimes People don’t always have a choice. They can come from a very abusive home or be bullied by someone. Alot of people can be forced even today. Its easy for us to judge because we come from God loving homes. parents who would die for us. Sad to say not all of the world is like that.

I always think that it could have been me who was raped, pushed around told I was nothing. And if I felt I was trapped and really thought there was no way out, what would I do. Probally what I was told. I thank God I never knew that fear. Granted that is not always the case, but I like to think that people really woudn’t do it out if selfishness. But thats why I try not to judge. God was so good to me, and by having Mercy on people is a way of giving back a little.

Your right again 👍

I will say that I dont agree with this teaching. I beleive God’s Mercy will cover all sin. If of course there heart is truelly repentive. I don’t beleive the cannon law is always right. I think history can prove that. But with that being said until its changed God does desire obedience and we are suppose to be obedient to the Church and Her teachings.

I’m struggling with this. I want to be merciful but I also want to be obedient…

I wouldn’t feel any more comfortable sitting next to a racist, anti-semite, or anti-ctholic bigot either.

I’m being honest here. It would make me uncomfortable knowing that the guy sitting next to me in church was killing babies all week long, and then pretending to be a man of God on sunday.

Maybe Fr. Corapi should be Pope? I know he would uphold the Church’s teachings better than the current leadership. He’s tough.👍

So tell me Chris what if you had free front row seats to the superbowl, but one catch, the guy sitting next to you was a practicing abortionist, would that keep you from going to the superbowl?:hmmm:

(I get physically ill just seeing an abortion mill, so I don’t know how to answer that. I couldn’t be in the same room with an abortionist. They repulse me.)

(I don’t know. I would be sickened by it, and probably avoid them.)
