But see I do not see where this is going against cannon law. If cannon law says a Bishop has to make the call, You donāt know what the Bishopās call is going to be. I am sure the Bishop is gonna be like this Why did you have an abortion lets say. And the person says well you know I had my job, money, selfish reasons and really isnt repentant. See what I mean, if someone really isnāt sorry or really donāt feel they did wrong, well then why should you be forgiven. See what I mean, because you canāt forgive someone who isnāt really sorry. So the Bishop will never kick this person out of Church, but no communion. Then we have the later and of course he says you are forgiven and go in peace. See what I mean? And remember the Bishop has one advocate on his side!Your right again
I will say that I dont agree with this teaching. I beleive Godās Mercy will cover all sin. If of course there heart is truelly repentive. I donāt beleive the cannon law is always right. I think history can prove that. But with that being said until its changed God does desire obedience and we are suppose to be obedient to the Church and Her teachings.
Iām struggling with this. I want to be merciful but I also want to be obedientā¦
