It will happen and churches will eventually be forced by law to marry gays. That, of course, will force the RCC underground, going back to the days of the catacombs.

Loving v Virginia found that marriage is a basic right. However, I found this pretty ridiculous from the judge you quoted in the article: “creates an** irrational classification **on the basis of sexual orientation.”

What is “irrational” about defining marriage as the union of a man and a woman? :confused:

The argument that two people of the same sex can unite in a marriage seems more irrational to me. An alien from another planet studying our species would conclude rationally that such a pairing is abnormal. I’m not clear why human beings on our own planet don’t see it. 🤷

November is the last chance for the USA. If the left holds office, the USA will never be the same again. Yet, even if the right wins, the battles are enormous.

We had our house on the market for two years, and took it off because it wasn’t selling. During that time my husband got a great job with a GREAT Catholic company in San Diego. I feel it was a calling. Trust me, we wanted to leave, but it hasn’t worked out. And, we are still very faithful Christians.

I am heartbroken by all of this. I am beginning to feel a bit discouraged. What is the point in voting anymore. This is a sign of what is to come for everyone. On the other end I know only the devil wins when I feel discouraged. I just have to pray, offer it up, and trust God.

I think you are wrong. I can see tax exempt getting pulls at churches for “hate speech”. I can see schools getting very ugly. I can see folks freedom of speech being limited. There will be more…
 
This judge, and most of the left, is now saying that the very institution that helped literally build the entire western world is no longer worth protecting. The foundations of the west are being taken out from underneath the structure, which means the structure will collapse. The left will learn eventually what they have done, but it will be too late to change.

Civil Rights of a minority should never be voted on and dictated by the whims of the majority. Regardless of what SCOTUS rules, one day same sex marriage will be legal in every state.

I have lived in NOCA as well as SOCA. West LA is is gay as the Castro District in SF.

Why? Because the vote of the people was knocked down? Or the fact that the government is taking more and more away from the people? If they wanted it to change, then they should have got the people to vote again. Not forced more freedoms to be taken away.

Because the courts have taken a stand against discrimination, fear and hatred.

If the Left wins in November, you can put a fork in the USA, because we’re done. In a way this is hard to understand, because the Left is a minority in this country. The majority of people in the USA still believe in traditional values and morals, yet we are being pummeled into submission to their values, or lack thereof, and if we dare object, we are called racist, homophobic bigots. So we just cower and let them take over.

I feel with all my heart that the Catholic Church is the answer to all of this. If the Church would stand up and do what we are commanded to do by our Lord - preach the Gospel with force and conviction, and stop worrying about being so politically correct and not hurting anyone’s feelings, this country would turn around. In the Liturgy of the Hours, the Church is often called the gate of salvation to the world. Well, we certainly aren’t doing a very good job of leading people to that gate, are we.

Miracles are still possible, and I know there are millions of people praying for the physical and spiritual salvation of this country. But it’s not looking good. Please pray that Kagan will be rejected. If she is allowed to be on the Supreme Court, I don’t hold out much hope for us.
