Moses went and addressed the king (Pharoah). Jesus did nothing of the sort. the Pharaoh was considered a god to pagans. Jesus adressed Ceaser, considered god by the Roman pagans.
Moses led his people to freedom from the yoke of slavery. Jesus did nothing of the sort.

These words which I (Jesus)spoke to you while I was still with you that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses concerning me.”
Luke 24:44

John.5:46 “If you believed Moses, you would believe Me (Jesus), for he wrote about Me, but if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?

John.5:39 Jesus says, “You search the Scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and these are they that testify of me.

John.1:45 Philip found Nathaniel and said to him. “We have found him of whom the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth the son of Joseph.”

After Jesus did another miracle and fed thousands “Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “**This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world” **(John 6:14).

Acts 3:22 "For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. ‘And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ "Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. "You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. “’To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

In light of this, it cannot be said, twice in this thread, that the disciples did not say Jesus is the prophet foretold by Moses.

**If Jesus was the prophet like Moses, we do not see even a single example like Moses in Jesus. **
**

You are wrong. InJesus has listed so many it would be ludicrous for me to repeat them. Just read the thread.
Moses went and addressed the king (Pharoah).
**Jesus addressed the King of the this world, Satan. And he also addressed the King of Jerusalem, Pontius Pilate.
Jesus did nothing of the sort. Moses led his people to freedom from the yoke of slavery. Jesus did nothing of the sort.
Jesus freed us from the yoke of sin and slavery which Satan held upon us.
The Jews loved MOSES. But jesus was not loved by the Jews.
He was loved by His Jews. The Apostles and the Disciples.
The Jews were not happy with Jesus. They killed him. If Jesus was the like of Moses then Jews would have known it before any one else. That proves Jesus was not the like of Moses.
The Jews did know it before anyone else. He appeared first to the Jews.
But they (the Jews) denied him and abused him. I feel that Jesus was never the like of Moses. Please show me any verse of your bible which says that Jesus was the like of Moses. There is not such thing in bible.
The Bible tells us that Jesus was greater than Moses.

John 1 17 For the law was given by Moses; grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 3 3 For this man was counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by so much as he that hath built the house, hath greater honour than the house.

**
The Jews were waiting for three persons and none of them was to be a god at all. 1. Elias. 2. Messiah. 3. The Prophet. All these three persons were different. If Jesus was the Messiah then he was not that prophet. He denied being that prophet (please see John ch.1 verse 21.) Easy proof !! Jesus was only the Messiah. Please think over.
****Jesus never denied being that Prophet, nor the Messiah.

** **John 5 ** 46 For if you did believe Moses, you would perhaps believe me also; for he wrote of me.

Sincerely,

De Maria

**Please note that Jesus gave no law. Those were some words of advice that any common man would also give to people, i.e. about love. Love of mankind etc. Law is not only love. There come many things under the law. The various dealings with people. The prayers, the cleaniness, the awards and punishments.

Where are these in christianity. Jesus never gave any such thing. At least I do not see any law in bible (new testament).**
Dear Planten,

Jesus said “Love your enemy and pray for those who prosecute you.” Anybody ever give such kind of advise? Is it a common knowledge? Remember, it is more common that people said that the laws are made to be broken. That is why the world need lawyers and law enforcers. In your religion, the Quran gives the Sharia law, and some muslims even act as the law enforcers. Some of the muslims interpret the Jihadist verses in a certain way, while others interpret such verses differently. Otherwise, there would be no one ever use your Jihadist verses to justify suicide bombings. Why do you need to have a lengthy and so-called complete laws if those laws can be easily interpreted differently. In Mat 22:37-39 it is clear that Jesus meant “commandment” not advise. It consisted of only 2 items. Those 2 laws have to be followed concurrently and simultaneously. Can anybody interpret those 2 laws different that what was written?

When Christians say Jesus fulfilled the law they mean his incarnation, death and ressurrection fulfilled the old testament. We don’t see our relationship with God as keeping a set of laws, but a relationship with God through the saving life of God incarnate - Jesus.

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them,” Heb. 10:16.

This Scripture in Hebrews was spoken and written from what the Lord prophesied and said in Jer. 31:33-34 - “-----After those days, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Verse 34, “And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, know the Lord: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the Lord for I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more.”

… what Jesus shared with Moses was shared
To christians Jesus (p) is son of God , also God Himself . why are you comparing God with a human being ? If Jesus (p) is the Creator , it means he created Moses (p). You must not compare God with His creation.

to Christians Jesus is also a man but the comparision is not about the point you raised. So you believe, like us, that Jesus is a man and can be compared to Moses, but you diverge when you do not believe that Him being the Word of God born without a father has a meaning.

This discuss always seems ot come down to this fact: Christains look for spiritual ways Jesus and Moses are the same while Muslims look for physical ways. Now, this would not be a problem, except Muslims ignore the spiritual to make their case.

to Christians Jesus is also a man .
a Pastor told me Jesus (p) was always 100 % God. You must not compare God with His creation.

To Christians Jesus (p) was there since the beginning but Moses (p) was not . So , Jesus (p) is NOT like Moses (p).

** Moses was a leader who led his people and took them to safety. Muhammad did the same. But Jesus did not do any such thing. Moses was powerful and strong (fighter). Jesus was gentle and loving. Such a vast difference. Did Jesus have any spirit or soul? There is no match between a God and a man (Moses).**

And everything that you have cited is physical.

How about these:

Jesus freed us from Slavery to Sin where Moses Freed them from Slavery to Pharoe

Jesus worked great signs to show his authority, as did Moses.

Jesus taught us a new, higher law of love and forgiveness, Moses gave them the Law of the Old Covenant.

Jesus spoke to God face to face, Moses did as well.

Jesus was Priest, Prophet and King, as was Moses.

Spiritually how is Muhammed like Moses? DId he see God and speak to him face to face? Was he in the presence of God? Did he show us God’s love for us? What signs did he work to show his authority?

The problem with Christians is that either they do not read their own Bible… or they refuse to believe what is so clearly written in it.

**And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, **… Deuteronomy 34:10

This verse from Deuteronomy refutes the claim of “Prophet like unto Moses” to be Jesus (peace be upon them) as Jesus was one of the Prophets of Israel.

did someone tell you that Deuteronomy was written after Jesus?

did someone tell you that Deuteronomy was written after Jesus?
Deuternonmy 34:10 has to be a part of the prophecy then.

The point is → if Jesus really is the prophet like unto Moses (peace be upon them), then Deuteronomy 34:10 is definitely wrong.

Unless of course Christians can come up with a plausible explanation why verse 34:10 is in Deuteronomy in the first place.

**From Hamba:

And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, … Deuteronomy 34:10 **

This is a fact, whether we see it in past tense or future tense. Jesus is also not the like of Moses. The verse can be truely taken in praise of Moses. The reason:

Moses led the 12 tribes of the Jews from captivity into freedom. He commanded his people and led them to safety. Moses had to tackle the king Pharoah. He successfully handled all the Jews even punished them at times.

But look at Jesus. He did niether of these things. Jesus could not control and correct even the two tribes of the Jews who were in Kana’an at that time. We forget about the other ten tribes who were missing from the land. Whereas Moses handled the 12 tribes, Jesus could not control or handle the two tribes.

The words being in praise of Moses show that Jesus was not equal to Moses. he could not be the like of Moses, as nobody had been as good as Moses in the past, similarly, nobody after Moses also could be the like of Moses.
We see clearly that Jesus was no match to Moses or Muhammad.

I guess we will always be able to find similarities and differences between men.

Likewise we will always find similarities and differences between God and man, who was created in his image according to Genesis.
