Then the truth must lie in Judaism, because throughout the ages the Jews have been the most despised of all peoples.

Do you think absolute truth cannot be attained?
I think that there are some absolute truths that can be attained, but I don’t think that all absolute truth can be attained. Further, I would say that there are some truths which are not absolute.

I’m not sure what these numbers are supposed to mean, but Brazil is a very large country, with some areas densely populated, while Salt Lake City is one City in Utah. I think there’s a significant difference in population.

I am not sure that is true today, but maybe. Today the most hated country is Russia. At least in the USA. Trump meddles in the internal affairs of France, Obama meddles in the internal affairs of Great Britain, Bush meddles in the internal affairs of Iraq and that is all just fine. But it is a big crime which must be punished if a Russian makes a comment about an American running for office. Russians are also hated because many of them live in Ukraine and speak Russian. And of course, they are disliked because they have the best national anthem in the world and no one else likes having an inferior national anthem. According to wikipedia, in October 2004, the International Gallup Organization announced that according to its poll, anti-Russia sentiment remained fairly strong throughout Europe and the West in general. It found that Russia was the least popular G-8 country globally.
Here is Heinrich Himmler’s speech at Posen on October 4, 1943:

“What happens to a Russian, to a Czech, does not interest me in the slightest. What the nations can offer in good blood of our type, we will take, if necessary by kidnapping their children and raising them with us. Whether nations live in prosperity or starve to death interests me only in so far as we need them as slaves for our culture; otherwise, it is of no interest to me. Whether 10,000 Russian females fall down from exhaustion while digging an anti-tank ditch interest me only in so far as the anti-tank ditch for Germany is finished. We shall never be rough and heartless when it is not necessary, that is clear. We Germans, who are the only people in the world who have a decent attitude towards animals, will also assume a decent attitude towards these human animals.”
The second most hated country around the world is Britain. At least it is hated by many of the various commonwealth countries that it has ruled.

I agree but not in context of salvation. Either you have it and should profess it clear enough for the unlearned to undestand or you dont. “Read the bible and listen to the Holy Spirit” without clarification, as the other poster was suggesting, only leads to confusion and uncertainty, nothing that could come from a loving God.

Im pretty sure you or he do not go around preaching “Jesus is sort of the way, kind of the truth and some of the life”.

Peace!!!

Why not go to CARM and ask them, “Where does the Bible say it has to be in the Bible in order to be true?” It doesn’t.

I’m not joining that forum. My apologetics isn’t good enough to argue with them.

Matt Slick participated on the Amazon Discussion Forums a few months before Amazon discontinued them. Much to the delight of the customer who invited him there, his views of Catholics were more than evident.

I think our moderators just don’t put up with just blatant disrespect like they do on CARM.

I was responding to @hope1960 when she asked why “they hate us so much”. One of the reasons that people can hate Catholics without public shame is that it is acceptable to be prejudice against Catholics.

Because Calvin did. The original Westminster Confession referred to the Pope as the Antichrist and the Church as the Whore of Babylon. Those claims were only removed in the 1900s. A loathing of Catholicism is deeply ingrained in the Presbyterian worldview.

We have a Presbyterian Church nearby, too. I know nothing about their religion, never been there. Are they Calvinists?

The Presbyterians are Calvinist, though different branches of Presbyterianism have accepted the new perspective on Paul to greater or lesser degrees, so not only is there significant disagreement among Presbyterian denominations regarding Christian moral teaching, but also significant disagreement regarding the basics of justification.
