What do the non-Catholics here think of him? Not the office of pope, but of the man himself?
Just curious.
Just curious.
how about the muslim scandal? yeah i know for his followers, it aint the pope’s fault. but for me there are a gazillion ways of proving his point without giving a quote that demonizes muslims. if indeed he had no intention insulting anybody.Would you care to give us an example of his blunders?
I like him. I like how he has been vibrant and willing to be the face of RC after having to following someone like JP2. He’s brilliant, and his calls for revival, and his courage to stand up to militant Islam makes other world leaders look lazy and frightened. I am glad he has finally made a visit to America. What do the non-Catholics here think of him? Not the office of pope, but of the man himself?

I think he’s great and I hope he sticks to some old school values. People need to stop comparing him to JP2. They are 2 different people GOD chose for the ministry. What do the non-Catholics here think of him? Not the office of pope, but of the man himself?

Ok, you gave 1 so called blunder that was not a blunder but a statement of truth. Now how about some more examples, like always you can never back up your wordsTheres not much to know about the man except for the few blunders that he made recently. For me he has yet to earn his title. He has yet to make a difference.![]()
how about when he modified an old prayer so that its insulting to jews again? for his followers its not a blunder. but for the rest of us, its harharhar.Ok, you gave 1 so called blunder that was not a blunder but a statement of truth. You know I admired him the first time I heard that issue. But then he practically succumbed to muslim pressure…giving excuses for his actions. thats what made it a blunder. he should have stood his ground.and his courage to stand up to militant Islam makes other world leaders look lazy and frightened.
Escuse me have you even read the prayer, there is nothing insulting about it. Before you go off half cocked, why don’t you actually research something instead of listening to the Anti-Catholic media.how about when he modified an old prayer so that its insulting to jews again? for his followers its not a blunder. but for the rest of us, its harharhar.![]()
I see your point now. Right on target. You know I admired him the first time I heard that issue. But then he practically succumbed to muslim pressure…giving excuses for his actions. thats what made it a blunder. he should have stood his ground.
What kind of difference are you looking for? What do you think he should do?Theres not much to know about the man except for the few blunders that he made recently. For me he has yet to earn his title. He has yet to make a difference.![]()
its not wrong from the theological point of view. but from the public relations point of view, its not right. He himself has said he does not believe the Pope was wrong to bring back the old prayer.

i dont know. What kind of difference are you looking for? What do you think he should do?
You know this is typical of AgnosTheist, he continually recycles this type of stuff but never even researches anything. I have had many issues with him and have found that he is not only very anti-catholic but anti-christian as well, just look at his signature.AgnosTheist is recycling this double-standard since at least March. LINK. He himself has said he does not believe the Pope was wrong to bring back the old prayer.

My first impressions are good. My understanding is he was very instrumental in the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification when he was a Cardinal. Hope he continues to push Ecumenism. May God protect him. What do the non-Catholics here think of him? Not the office of pope, but of the man himself?

There has been no Muslim scandal. His speech was the best I’ve ever read on the subject and I pray he changes nothing. I’m trying to figure out what possible blunder there was in what he said.how about the muslim scandal? yeah i know for his followers, it aint the pope’s fault. but for me there are a gazillion ways of proving his point without giving a quote that demonizes muslims. if indeed he had no intention insulting anybody.
ah, no. He never apologized and never backed down. He simply re-iterated the source of the comments. I thought it was a brilliant move. Re-state the source. Re-state the comment. Don’t apologize. You know I admired him the first time I heard that issue. But then he practically succumbed to muslim pressure…giving excuses for his actions. thats what made it a blunder. he should have stood his ground.
