You must also keep in mind he says this word after the resurrection. Why use the word sin after the redemptive work of the cross is complete?
The Apostle John spoke of sin after the resurrection, but he taught this objective truth:1 John 2:1-2 "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for {those of} the whole world. The sacrificial death of Christ satisfied the offended holiness of God because of sins (propitiation), before and after the cross. Christ our High Priest in heaven is our (believer’s) Advocate with the Father, testifying to the fact that the believer who has sinned has been redeemed (purchased) and cleansed of all sins through His blood. And this was the Apostolic message to the world. But it’s a message concerning Christ and the cross that must be believed. They weren’t sent out to start a new “religion,” but to proclaim Christ and Him crucified and salvation through faith in Him alone.

From what I have read the specific instance you seek is not recorded but I do not find that to be an important piece of the puzzle.
Why not? If that was to be a specific function of theirs, as you point out by that verse in John, then one would surely find many accounts of them exercising activity in that capacity. But as you rightly admit - NONE!
I would rather look at what is written rather than what is not written. Looking for text that is not there let’s one off the hook easy.
But you should see evidence of your interpretation of that verse. You, admittedly, don’t.

moondweller;
Sure, the answer is “no.” They’re not literally found in Scripture.
So then, you’d have to agree that something doesn’t have to be found “in” Scripture to be believed by Christians then, right?
Although this argument has nothing to do with the price of tea in China.
Well, I don’t know what tea in China has to do with this, but what I asked you is directly related to your “not” believing something because you state that it’s not literally stated in Scripture.

So, now that you’ve confirmed that not all that Christianity believes is “in” Scripture,
you cannot use the fact that not everything that’s not stated “in” Scripture
cannot be believed because it’s not stated “in” Scripture.
Now, I’ll ask you: Is it true Satan is the fourth person of the Godhead?
Depends “which” godhead you’re referring to. I can’t speak for Satanism.

You only gave me a list of words.

I’ll answer this when you stop dodging my question.

Please, re-ask it.

I’ve looked back and didn’t see where I didn’t answer your question.

I’ll be glad to answer if once you show it to me.

Thank you.

2nd Gen,

Moondweller does alot of this and rambles on and on but when asking him literal scripture readings he comes back with some off the wall reading really having no context when read fully.

When the questions get direct and tough he goes to another thread

Esspecially in the area of “Faith Alone” right Moondweller?

Do you know what Moondweller as a Christian if you are part of an established church I find it hard to believe your Minister will tell you that. you are saved by faith alone.

Faith alone is quickly going away.

Moondweller,

Satan is not the 4th person of the Godhead.

The Blessed Trinity == Father,Son, and Holy Spirit. 3

You make false accusations.

Obviously you don’t know our “minister.”
Faith alone is quickly going away.
Then so is the way of salvation.

Thank you, but I’m waiting for 2nd Gen to give his/her answer.
I asked you twice to tell me which one. It took one of my brothers to tell me which one?

Besides, I did answer it and here was my answer:

There are several godheads (just in case you didn’t know that fact).

I stated that it depended on which godhead you were talking about. Being that you included Satan, I couldn’t tell you. I’m not as up on his godhead as you seemingly are.

(LOL! It’s hard to be mad at you anymore MD since you gave me props for my Templar icon! 👍 )

2nd Gen,

Are you Mormon?
LOL!

Here it comes…

Why in the world would you think that I’m a Mormon?
(I like to call them “MoreMan” because they had a man add another gospel to the bible)

What am I?

This is what I am…

LOL!

You need to educate yourself on the word “godhead”:

dictionary.reference.com/browse/godhead

There are different “godheads”. Eastern Indians have their own godhead.

Did you know that?

Since he asked me about a godhead involving Satan, I KNEW he couldn’t have been talking about The Godhead (notice the capitol “G” there).

So that’s why I asked “which” godhead he was referring.

Stay in school my friend!

Learn!

LOL!

Moondweller,

Do you have any idea what 2nd Gen is talking about? God Heads? If he is a Mormon --good catch–

I am sure though that you can see now where the Catholic Church is on Faith with Works gets it’s doctrine from now,

You may not agree so lets decide to agree that we do not agree.

Both we both agree there is no salvation without Jesus

God Bless You

You challenged my Catholicism, I proved to you that there are godheads in several religions and now you’re siding with the anti-Catholic?

Awww…are you pouting now because you got academically spanked?

See that? You were wrong. There are several beliefs (and definitions) for “godheads”.

Just accept it. Pride is a very infectious thing. It leads to more of the same.

Now, here’s a question for you…Is Christianity the only religion to believe in a godhead?

👍
