I was surely not apologizing for his thread, just trying to let others understand that people with certain conditions, especially if not treated will say and do things that are very inappropriate. Many of them get no help, as they can’t and sometimes won’t because they are incabable of seeking the proper help.I came late to this thread today. In short, I HATE the thread title!!! I can’t emphasize enough how disgusting it is and I reject any attempts to apologize for it. I don’t like it. As a Catholic, on behalf of many other Catholics, I apologize to my Protestant brothers and sisters in this room for this title and the tone of it. God bless you all!

Because right there it says anyone who believes SHOULD not perish. It does not say SHALL not, or WILL not, and the Douay-Rheims Bible has MAY not.
I guess by the way this thread is going I need to clarify my comment in support of the statement…
Not to be uncharitable, but if you read the whole thread you would understand that the OP has a mental illness. He needs prayers, not condemnation. Of course there many on the boards who are Catholic that are against what he wrote.This has got to be the very worst post I have ever seen here. It seems to be common place that Protestants are ridiculed, harrassed and hated here for ever reason imaginable, but this whole post just stinks of intolerance and misinformation.
It is very evident to see that you do not stop to recognize the many different Protestant churches and it is equally evident that you don’t care. You spew your venom at everyone who isn’t Roman Catholic. It’s sad that you would even believe for one minute that you can create meaningful dialogue this way. Shame on you!

I think CAF is one of the most understanding and caring forums I have seen. Try one of the protestants ones if you want venom. On these boards there will always be debate. Some people, Catholic, protestant, Orthodox or whatever can get too passionate and say things that are not Christian like. There is much meaningful dialogue on these boards and most Catholics here understand the difference between Baptists and Episcopalians.
You are not the only person who does not understand mental illness or maybe doesn’t care about it. I have no clue, I am assumming that you were not aware that he has problems just as others weren’t.
I am not agreeing with his posts, just feel that we really don’t understand where he is coming from. His post is not the typical posts I see on these forums.

I agree. Would you say CAF (or maybe I should say just the Non-Catholic Religions forum) is geared toward being anti-Protestant? I do see a lot of threads where there is civil discussion from both sides. Of course there are the threads that are not charitable also. That’s life.
