It was said that I was blashphemous in saying that Jesus wasn’t completely God. Well, I will not argue that He was fully divine and fully human, but he was separate from God. He said Himself that only God knew when the Son would return, the Son himself did not know. So, obviously, there is a separation between the Son and the Father. Explain to me how he can be God himself, yet not know when He would return? It is a hard topic to go in to, but ponder it.

So, that being said, I use it to make the point that Mary was not the Mother of God. She was the earthly mother of God’s Son. If anything, that would make her God’s wife. Hm?
Clearly, your problem is not with Mary. Your problem is with the Trinity and the Divinity of Christ.

BTW, Mary is referred to as the “spouse of the Holy Spirit.”

She said more specifically “generations shall call me blessed”. What does you denomination do to fulfill this passage today? And what denomination is that? Is it one of the religions that denies the Blessed Trinity. I’m just wondering since your screenname implies that.
WE CALL HER BLESSED.

My screen name implies salvation thru the blood of Jesus Only.

I honor Mary by recognizing her as blessed among women, a saint, and the Mother of God. That doesn’t mean that I am going to pray to or through her or to ascribe to her qualities and powers that are not established by Scripture.
You do understand that ALL Christians throughout all of history (including Luther and Calvin) prayed to the Mother of our Lord until recent times when men, with personal agendas, diverted from the original Christian teachings and started their own religions?

At that time, the Eastern Churches were not in schism with the Catholic Church like they are today. The Church was one.
Not to beat a dead horse, but it seems to me that to many, the Catholic Church = the Christians in communion with Rome. This is far from true, though. Who left the Church? The Pope and his church, not the Eastern church. He excommunicated the Ecumenical Patriarch; in other words, the Pope kicked the east away. Today, that is one Roman bishop vs. four Eastern bishops; where is the fullness? In the east, where the Patriarches have maintained the Truth of Christ. Hence there is the Orthodox CATHOLIC Church and the Roman Catholic Church (notice the latter is based in ONE city and has “developed” its doctrine.

Prayers and petitions,
Alexius:cool:

Can you please post a new thread about it, then? 🙂 This thread is about the concrete examples of how Protestants do or do not honor Mary.

You call her blessed, yet say she was stained by sin? Which particular denomination do you belong to? It’s always suspect when non-Catholics are unwilling to share the name of their religion.

Thank heavens! You believe in the Blessed Trinity! 👍
