Oh, how convenient…
That’s what I was thinking…it took time to come up with
**
" There is no salvation outside of the Church``**

That kept a lot of people coming back…No?

Christ instituted the Sacraments. It took awhile for the Church to figure everything out. Just like when Jesus stated to His Apostles that they would understand His actions better AFTER His resurrection.

At that time when that was stated there was NO OTHER CHURCH but the CC.

Just like it took them 500 years to figure out Purgatory and 1800 years to figure out Papal Infallibility. Like I said, how convenient.

There is a difference when something was instituted and when it is DEFINED because of CHALLENGE. You don’t seem to get this like many protestants. You think Jesus DEFINED everything to a T when He instituted them? Nope.

This is precisely where I become cynical and skeptical. The Church has always interwoven themselves with the ruling class, the powerful elite, the state and with monarchies.

The Church seems to have controlled the laity by controlling their access to the gates of heaven and the promises of Christ.

Sad, but it is a compelling thought.

It is historically factual. Catholics just merely call that ignorance of Catholicism.:whacky:

Did he institute Penance? He sure as heck didn’t define it.

The Church was given the Sacraments of God’s Graces, by Jesus Himself, to be dispensed by the clergy as proven by scripture.

There will always be sinners in the Church, even clergy. Jesus warned about this. I’m not shocked at all.

so then, you aren’t shocked that 107 Catholic clergy have been convicted of sex crimes against minor children? OMG.:crying:

At around 250 AD. The mission of the Church, as instituted by Christ, cannot be trumped.
and Scripture depicts that as the Roman Catholic Church then? Can you show me where that is in Scripture?

I am horrified, but not surprised. Surprise is a better word. However, ever single church has had these problems and protestants hurt more children than Catholic clergy. The Anglicans and the Baptists are really bad.

1.) The word “Roman” was a protestant invention. You will never hear the Vatican use it except in DOCUMENTS mentioning the other rites of the Catholic Church, just for traditional distinction. Rome is where the Church was HEADQUARTERED, not founded.

2.) The Petrine verses are pretty clear enough.

3.) There was no other Church but the CC for the first 1,000 years of Christianity.

4.) Christianity did not come out of the bible, by the way.

Oh, so then you can show me something worse about these two denominations than $2 billion paid in lawsuits to victims of sex abuse? I’m just dying to see your information!

more word games. I expected that.

1.) Those churches don’t have nearly the clout of the CC. More clout = bigger rewards.

2.) The CC has always been hated for its staunch teachings of Christ, bringing much hatred from secular society. Thus more negative spotlight as a result. Other churches get a free pass.

3.) Why don’t you ask the Aussies what they think of the Anglican Church?

4.) stopbaptistpredators.org/index.htm
