I expected Protestants to beat up on this thread. I do not believe a Protestant is healed by anyone other than a Catholic priest through which Jesus heals. If you are talking about people like Benny Hinn, who is a liar and a deceiver in his million dollar houses and thousand dollar suits, then I pity you. I will NEVER believe you.
About fifteen years ago there was a little girl in our church that drank some kitchen degreaser. It burnt her esophagus that she could not sollow. The doctors removed her esophagus and replaced it with part of her colon. The operation did not work. She lay near death for days.
Baptist Churches all over America were praying for her. God answered their prayers and healed her and today his is a nice young lady thar loves the Lord with all her heart.

A miracle I think

Hi,
I am in RCIA right now and yesterday during Opening the Word I was asking about this sort of thing; i.e. The Virgin Mary in stained glass, bleeding statues etc. I have honestly never heard that any Saints bodies were incorruptible. Maybe someone could offer more information about this, I am a reader so maybe a book that could help me understand why I should believe this or why it is significant.

To be honest, this is the sort of teaching that makes me pause… please explain!

Syele - were you a former Catholic ? Maybe the paperwork was a bit slow in getting through to head office ?

I’m only joking, it’s great to hear God working in personal ways.
If it’s not too personal can i ask if the cure what a result of a certain act or constant prayer ? Great news !

FOA, if your mother is speaking Hebrew then she sounds blessed as well. I am getting very jealous now. I guess my snoring isn’t so miraculous.

I am very much interested in the incorruptibles and thanks for the posts on Bobola Rightousness. Assuming they are miraculous, does anyone have an opinion on why incorruptibility exists ?

Could it be a sign from God personally or some sort of physical change of matter by holiness and how could that work ?
I really don’t know. God works His will in strange ways that we can’t hope to understand. However it is most certainly not a hoax as some of these bodies are from people who died in the 13th century. I seriously doubt the embalming techniques of that time were that good.

Which have you seen? Are we talking Benny Hinn or some other phony?
It seems that both Catholics and Protestants “beating up” on this thread. Some, though 👍 , have taken the high road:
Perhaps it is that our approaches to God are different, so He in turn approaches us differently.

I have a wonderful book titled “The Incorruptibles” by Joan Carroll Cruz. Please purchase it, you will be astonished by what you read. Documented cases.

Catholics if knowledgeable about their saints, should not beat up on this thread. Don’t believe I’ve read one yet.

I’m amazed at your post. You don’t believe a protestant is healed by anyone other than a Catholic priest (through which Jesus heals)? First, can you present an example from Tradition or Scripture that backs this up? If not, you should disavow this belief.

Second, do you think Catholics only are acceptable enough for God to heal them? What about Jews? Healing takes place every day among Protestants through Christ. He hears their prayers too. God can heal without a pastor/priest.

ps. Benny Hinn isn’t the only person in protestant circles who claims/does healing. Every week there is a healing service at the local ELCA Lutheran Church I attend.

Peace…

I am sorry, but a Catholic priest is the only one who can heal. He is the one with the authority to do this and yes, I have witnessed miracles from priests and yes, my aunt had MS and was a die hard Protestant. Her pastor tried to heal her but couldn’t (I give the guy credit tho…) She went to a priest and got up from her wheelchair and walked. BTW, a priest too only has the power to excorcise any demons from the human body. This is why Protestant pastors ask a priest to help them…This is well documented.
Sorry if I think everyone else is a phony.

I’m sorry you feel that way about healing and exorcisms. I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve been a conduit for healing and so have many, many others I know. I would tell you the stories, but you wouldn’t believe me anyway. I’ve exorcised countless demons and enlisted help from angels to do so. My experience, which is much more valuable to me than dogma, tells me a completely different story than what you have suggested.

I believe further discussion on the issues would be pointless, therefore I leave you with this post.

By the way, if the world waited for only Catholic priests to heal the world, then many, many people would go without the help they need. God isn’t just the God of Catholics, but the God of the universe that He created. He makes the sun shine on both the evil and the good.

Peace…

Wrong. God IS the God of Catholics, you just cannot see this…

A question, are relics of the incorruptible saints placed under altars or is that reserved for corruptible saints?

Thanks in advance.

Is this suppose to be funny?? If not, there are only incorruptible saints. (Is this tunnel vision again?)

What is the point? Is there something wrong with you? This is only a couple from thousands of Saints who gave their life up for the faith.
Christ gives us the relics of saints as health giving springs through which flow blessings and healing. THIS SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED. For if at God’s word water gushed from hard rock in the wilderness—yes, and from an ***'s jawbone when Samson was thirsty–why then should it seem incredible that healing medicine should distill from the relics of saints?
Their are also mysterious perfumes that is a frequently reported phenomenon. It has been recorded.
Another condition which defies explanation is the flow of fresh blood that proceeded from a number of these bodies many years after death.
Why shouldn’t it be doubted?

have in my possession an actual healing taking place while the minister is teaching a class against divine healing. Whispering into a microphone because his voice box was permantly injured for over three 3 yrs. and because of it he had to give his pastoret, was miraclously healed as he spoke. I have it on tape. He voice is as good as new. All documented by physicians and universities.

No Priest; no anointing with oil or laying on of hands by another person and no prayer of any kind offered up in his behalf. I’d be more than happy to send any one a copy.

I have no idea why I am jumping in here, but it is different than talking the Trinity with Muslims.

To all Catholic Posters: God is the God of the Universe. He is God to all who call on him. He can choose to perform miracles through any vessels he sees fit. To limit this ability is to limit God.

To all Protestant Posters: The incorruptibilty of a saint is considered a sign of that person’s holiness. That their body did not decay by normal means is considered a sign that sin did not have a full destructive hold over them. Not all saints are incorrupt. I for one tend not to discuss this. I like pointing out what these people did while they were alive. Even if you deny their miracles, almost all saints lived exempluraly lives of faith.

To everyone: I am so happy that some of you have seen God’s power manifest in your lives. Please remember that just because our prayers are not answered as we want them to be does not mean they are not heard by God. Further, just because one is healed and another is not does not mean God hates one or that God loves one better. I also want to point out that a majority of miracles recorded in the Bible had a message. Usually, it was of repentance. Please spread the news that we should give Glory to God AND we should turn from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.

Finally, to Ormly, hello and welcome. That is an interesting story. I am not doubting you at all. God seems to enjoy irony, and that certainly is ironic. Is there a web-site that I can go to to read about it?

Who is john vianny
Saint John Vianney, priest (patron of priests) universally known as the “Cure of Ars”.
Saint John Mary Vianney was ordained a priest in 1815, three years later he was made parish priest of Ars, a remote French village, where his reputation as a “confessor” and director of souls made him known throughout the christian world. His life was one of extreme mortification.
Accustomed to the most severe austerities, beleagured by swarms of penitents, and besieged by the devil, this great mystic manifested a imperturbable patience.
He heard confessions of people from all over the world for sixteen hours a day. His life was filled with works of charity and love.
It is recorded that even the staunchest of sinners were converted at his mere word.
He died August 4, 1859 and was Canonized May 31, 1925.

He so loved the blessed mother, hence his middle name “Mary”.

I was asking a question. The last thing I saw that was supposed to be a relic of a saint was a bone. No flesh attached. As I understood this thread incorruptible saints is a term used for those who do not decay upon death. Hence their flesh is still intact.

Since the dedication of a Catholic altar requires the use of relics of a saint.I believe properly at least two, and they can be such things as clothing or body parts.

I was wondering if the body parts of incorruptible saints, that is those to whom the flesh does not decay are used in altars in Roman Catholic Churches or if only body parts like bones are used.

Well, there are saints who are full in body, and there are saints who we have as relics. Such as a bone, a hand, an elbow. These are preserved because that is all they have of a saint.
Some bodies are placed under an altar at a church where perhaps that saint had a vision of christ or the Blessed Mother, but saints are not used as altars.
