If you’re loyal the the teaching of the magisterium what is it you’re questioning?
Everything, Dokimas, everything.

Wasn’t it St. Augustine who coined the phrase,"Fides quaerens intellectum"?

(Faith seeking understanding)

I didn’t say that. I love each and every one of those verses. I just don’t know where it says that they’re core beliefs.

And, did you notice your core beliefs didn’t mention–not even once–LOVE?

That is simply mind-boggling that a Christian would not include love in his core beliefs.

I just am saying that you’re using something extra-biblical to determine what’s a core belief. [SIGN1]For the bible does not state at all–NOT EVEN ONCE!–what is a core belief.[/SIGN1]
My point was that you’re playing a game here. I just thought I’d join you in your fun.

So what doctrines of the CC have you found innaccurate?
Inaccurate? None.

Any complaint anyone has with the CC is akin to saying they have a complaint with Jesus. For, really, if they say, “I disagree with the CC’s teaching on, say, divorce” what they’re really saying is, “Jesus, I disagree with what you said about divorce.”

The CC is the only church which does not claim the right to edit God’s message. She simply delivers. 👍

Ok.

But I’m very competitive, Dokimas.

And I’m definitely winning! 😃

How 'bout Round 2?
Careful in your desire to win you don’t pass over truth.

BTW, before you declare yourself winner of round #1, I’d like your response ot my post #336.

So you either never really questioned or you’ve stopped questioning and I thought you said you’re ever questioning?

Because you think like this, you’ll always think you’re winning each round you’re in. Nothing will change your mind. Speaking of irony.

I do have struggle a bit with the CC’s teaching on artificial birth control.

There’s a few threads I’ve started, esp. in light of the AIDS epidemic in Africa and the Church’s teaching against condom use among married couples there, that helped me grapple with this teaching.

Perhaps if you did a search of threads started by me you could see what issues I’ve questioned. 👍

Well, I’m still waiting for your response to my post #213.

It sounds like you’re proposing* another* extra-biblical belief, which is: if it’s not found in the epistles then you don’t have to believe it. Mary is not mentioned in the epistles, therefore she’s not important.

Is that what you’re professing? If so, do you have a bible verse to support that?

Do you still question these things? If so, are you concerned you’re questioning Jesus?

You can’t claim victory unless you do a good job with my post #336. Your victory has nothing to do with my answers to your questions.

Yes, I do. And I indeed question Jesus about this often!
There is no sin in questioning–remember, it’s faith seeking understanding.

It’s when I decide, “I know better than you and your Body, the Church, Jesus” that the problem arises. (To the tune of 40,000 different decisions, I might add.)

Why would that matter? Is there something in your doctrines that say something must be stated in the epistles to be believed?

If something is mentioned in the OT, but not in the epistles, do you believe it?
What about if it’s in the Gospels, but not in the epistles?

Logic tells me if the early church taught what the CC teaches about Mary (things like: perpetual virginity, immaculate conception) then the first pope would have made comment on something sooo important. You’d think the Holy Spirit would have had Paul, James, Peter and the other apostles mentioned your teachings.

The doctrines of Mary that are in question are not in the OT either.

I’ll let the posts speak for themselves and the winner of my “game” can be declared by the readers.

Anyway, since 213 comes before 336, you’re up!

Now, now, now. Not so quick. It is YOU who claimed victory. BTW I’ve already commented on 213.😃

How’s this verse for a core belief for salvation?

John 3:16 "For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Oh! SOOOO, *another *extra-biblical belief you have. :tsktsk:

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Jesus is against artificial birth control.
