A B-I-G D minus for this post:D I have God to thank for His Holy Word! It doesn’t really matter who put it together! The infallibility of men(including the pope) leads to possibilties of error! Actually, without Christ, I have nothing, and am nothing! Don’t hurt yourself patting your back!😛 You’re not shouting, are you?

The Old Testament prophets were not catholic, sounds like they were Jewish! And the apostles were all Jewish, who became believers in and followers of Jesus! So, maybe we can buythe theory that people whom you choose to call catholics, put the Bible, but it was inspired and spoken by God, through His prophets and apostles! I don’t believe there will be any religion in Heaven:thumbsup: Just saints praising their Saviour all day long(and all night, too!)

But you reject the CHurch, but you accept the authority that God had handed down to her to us in his written Word!

It is by the Church that we know what is the word of God, and the word of man. But you thank God for his word, but you do not thank God for his Church that reveals to us he true word??? Does not make sense to me at all.🤷 Sum Sing Wong:rotfl:

You condemn the Pope when it is indeed through the CC and her Popes and councils that gathered together and sifted the chaff from the wheat the false from the genuine.

It should matter to you who put it together, it sure did to God.

Tell me lb I am curious here, I will admit as a Catholic I do not need the bible I have the Catholic Church.

But what about you, where would you be without the bible that came from the CC? While I agree that we all have God to thank for his Holy Word, I also cannot see not being thankful for the CC for revealing his word. If you do not feel this was necessary why do you even need the bible then?

You tell me lb what does Man teach. I know what the Church teaches but you reject the teachings of the Church.

So now you tell me WHERE are we tested by the fire, Here on this earth? If so are you saying we have judgement day before we pass from this world. OR is it in heaven, Are you saying we are tested in heaven? Thats not what the CHurch teaches.

WHere does this final cleansing come from that the CHurch teaches and Gods word teaches?

In Matt 5:48 Jesus says be perfect even as your heavenly Father is perfect, We are only made perfect through purification, if that is not completed on earth it is continued in a transitional state we call purgatory. That is Catholic teaching that comes from the word of God. Tell me what is the word of man on that scripture?

So until you can show me where God gave you authority to teach above the Church, and since its report card time:D You got a F:p

Unless you can come back and show me where God gave you authority above the Church to teach Scripture. Then maybe after, that since the Church did answer the 64,000 question and you do not have the authority or grace from God to dispute it, you can drop off the CASH at the CHurch. Because the Church is who is the winner. The Church that has authority to speak for God, Not man!!😃

How true, how true. But Man, now thats a different story, Man will let you down everytime. That is why we do not put our faith in Man to teach us the word of God. We trust the CHurch that is led by the HS to lead US into all truth.👍

What are you saying that God Told you to read a book,can you show me from the Bible that God said to read a book
 
Could someone (catholic who knows) tell me about the process that the Church has of releasing a soul from purgatory? I can only guess that indulgences and the treasury of merit come into play. A little insight please.
