I agree up to a point, Faqcorner. It’s true that we may all be attracted to different temptations/sin, but the topic here is porn. …But my point is, many men who start looking at porn casually, do end up with serious problems and even addictions.
Just a little friendly warning about playing with fire…
God bless …
well, I know now that it is, I looked into it a bit errrrrr…
before, but not at the moment… not interested in it now really…things turn kinda unattractive when they would damn one to hell…
and true, that many men who look at it casually can get addicted, but I have too many things that I don’t even care about it much anyways…and the fact it doesn’t look attractive now.
“If this isn’t a serious temptation, and you can walk away from it, that’s great.”
Yep. I can most likely walk away from it. like I said, I just use another thing that has more of a priority, or interest level (looking at it is judged really low in the first place…) that I’ll just do those instead of looking and doing that specific sin
"Thus, if you open that door of temptation, you are allowing the devil to let that type of sin seep into your life. "
true. though actually it did for a bit, but I forced it down now >.> so most of the things, once I found out that they were mortal sins, I force it down extremely, hopefully so it’ll not bother me again, though of course it’ll still be there, but extremely faint.
You are so right. Thank the good Lord that I am like you and have no desire to look at porn…Praise God!! BUT…I still have other struggles that I deal with daily. For these I use prayer and the Sacraments, especially Reconciliation and the Eucharist. I started praying the Liturgy of the Hours and this helps me in a big way…Keep up the good fight…teachccd
“…Thank the good Lord that I am like you and have no desire to look at porn…”
^ note: I did look into it and got a bit into it, but forced it down after I heard it was a sin, and now even MORE forced down when I find that it’s a grave matter
(really people, running a website when you are my age [middle of high school, not going to say with grade other than that] is quite a stretch and kinda hard for me to get people to come to my site, so I keep on having to do more and more updates, and then I get some people, and I still do more updates, etc, so my work there is almost never done until it’s extremely active ._.’… as well as I if that was fulfilled…if you know how many anime there is, and how many of them are comming each season…that’ll take a long time…as well as the fact that I want to subtitle them with takes even more of my time, and I have church and school anyways)
Anyone who thinks they can look at porn as defined above or even just erotic pictures of women without a problem is fooling themselves and Old Nick is just laughing his hinder off. I have been porn free for a little over forty years now and looking back I can say to anyone, that is not a place you want to go.My excuse was exactly like the list posted by one of the fellas above about all the “benefits”.
It starts out nice and easy. Kind of interesting and fun. Yeah, I could handle that stuff and learn a lot. As time passed I got to a point where just seeing a picture of a nude would make my heart pound and my breath to come in gasps. The pull to keep looking was unimaginable to anyone who has not been there. It took a combination of psychological counseling and a good confessor and lots of night sweats to beat the addiction. It can be beaten, but better to not go there in the first place. The Jesuits taught me about a concept called control of the eyes. It helped a lot.

However, you can’t judge someone based on using a regular model, apparently can’t you think that maybe I have some neurological problems with my brain that I just don’t care after I find out it isn’t, and the fact that something happened before that makes it so I don’t care much about what others do, so I’m less affected by peer pressure.
Yes. I have these “Asperger’s Syndrome” “Autism” “ADD” (similar to ADHD) and the fact that I tried to help some people before [my classmates] for something on the internet (running class website) and most of them left, and the ones that were still there were attacking me (flaming) on the class website with various untrue statements. Including “SPAM” over and over again, as well as explicit untrue statements.
Those kinda killed my care for peer pressure.

never happened to me. nor does it look like. my “addiction” more is along the lines of internet/computer/anime field, and really, those things help me with a new thing I’m doing for my church, so I see no problem in my addiction that much
and I force myself, I’m busy with projects and stuff, I have stuff to study, I have to worry about colleges, church stuff, music ministry, who would accept me, I want to get people to my site and stay there and be active, I like games, I like to watch anime, I like to make AMV’s, I like to do karaoke effects for various songs, I do subtitling for anime, etc.
way too busy to care about the subject sin we are talking about. [sin]
I never said I’m sin free, I just said I can resist it because of the knowledge and various other reasons.
