You know here is an interesting twist also. You hear people say about the tv shows, etc. that if you dont like it turn the channel, or turn it off, or you dont have to watch it. But this is just an example of why i guess people want to get rid of these kind of shows. Look at the young people who can get lost. How such a wonderful gift that God gave a husband and wife SEX can be so dirty and degrading to some people. How they can turn something so beautiful and make it so ugly. Its just so sad that alot of these young people will never be able to see what a beautiful, loving contentment that sex and love together shared between 2 people can bring. . Just because of lust and what is the lust really for, Money. Thats it, these sites could care less what they do to these kids its all about money. All the devil again taking something so good and pure and making it dirty and ugly to just destroy something wonderful God made. How sad, such a miserable person as the devil can take alot of good people and tempt them just to destroy them.

I am gonna respond to this, as it was my doing that faqcorner brought this topic up (him and I discussed it on his forums in a small debate)

While faq was asking about it, It was I who brought it up in the first place.

The reason I bought it up was because I have taken a small interest in some fanfics about anime that people have written. The thing is, these fanfics are “lemons” (basically extremely descriptive scenes), specifically yaoi (man x man relationships).

I initially throught what I was doing was just venial, as I just read through it like I am just reading a novel. I don’t have any thoughts about committing acts to myself or to other people. I just read through it like I was reading a novel.

My initial thought was that what I was doing would be considered venial, because I, myself, was not doing it, felt no arousal when reading it, and just thought, “Oh. They might make a cute couple. Next chapter. Oh, that’s not good…actual story continues.” The venial part, in my mind, came in because it was, after all, two people of the same gender engaging in sexual intercourse with each other (I cannot find the passage, but someone told me there is a passage in the Bible about it).

To sum it up, my initial thought was that it was venial because it was 2 men, but it wasn’t a mortal sin because I didn’t do anything to myself or anyone else, as well as not having any type of arousal when reading out it.

But, that is just my case. I may be completely wrong about it all, and it may be a mortal sin no matter how one looks at it or the circumstances.

My take is that any picture can be porn if we make it porn.
So true!

But I recently saw an image of a vagina that was quite beautiful! Nothing hidden all there to see. Not in a sexual act, just displayed.

Being male I was aroused but also struck with the beauty of it. Michelangelos David may do the same thing for women.

I’ve seen pornography and can’t stomach it. It’s violent and uses peoples weakness for profit. It’s slavery in a sense.

But is “admiring” a vagina and yes wanting one day to be closer to one in marriage “lustful”?

“admiring” it? lol… Maybe; that could certainly be prone to lust in my opinion.

I think a good rule is that one should never “admire” body parts, but persons. The problem with pornography is it divorces a person from their body. It de-spiritualizes them, and that is gravely offensive to God.
The true beauty of any body is really found in the whole person.

Err… what if you were just looking at a list of those releases (H/porn/whatever) (no pictures), just looking at a list of them, (one of the reasons was to look for what they were, so that at other places I don’t accidently download and view them…

is that a sin ._.’… no thoughts about anything, or pictures ( I knew there wasn’t any pictures of it before it, so…it wasn’t like I was looking for any pics…)

I don’t THINK it would be considered as a sin, but always good to make sure just in case…i guess…

is it?

You want a new perspective on this, read Love and Responsibility by Pope John Paul II. Personally, I believe there are serious issues with this for two reasons.

First, how can your reasoning be anything but selfish when viewing porn? You’re essentially doing it to find happiness in the pleasure of looking at it (I would put that in the category of hedonism).

Second, the pleasures of sexuality are not for anything other than a full and complete love with another human being of the opposite sex, not a picture, video or otherwise. This would take porn completely into the realm of abuse of one of God’s gifts for us.

Third, look at it this way. Not only is it bad for you, but anytime you view it, you’re supporting the industry, an industry that causes a considerable amount of harm.

Fourth, why complicate your life with something that is only temporary, something which will never be satisfied, something which will only bring more pleasure by looking at it again? Set your sites higher than this. Seek the love that Christ offers in every relationship you have. Look to be more selfless in your thought and you’ll find something far more satisfying and rewarding than anything else you could imagine.

We’re not perfect and we have our faults, that’s true. However, God gave us a free will so that we had the chance to choose true love, that which resides in Christ.

So, in the end, it becomes a choice. Remain where you are or grow into something more. That’s your choice, regardless of what the addiction or inclination maybe.

Finally (you can stop here if you want, since I think I’ve made my point), but, finally, I’ve read something which I think applies to many areas of our lives. We, as human beings have a past, a present and a future. We can look back on our past and learn from what we see; our present, we are to live in; and our future is a matter of what we want for our lives, what we hope to become, what we dream for. When we live in the present only, we fall into materialism where we do not seek anymore than what we have or want today, without regard of our past or future. Think of it like sitting down playing a video game; even though, you perceive a progression, when the game is over, you are no better off than you were when you started playing. In other words, don’t rob yourself of your full potential by ignoring what is important. We were not put here to remain the same but to experience change and that change can either be positive or negative. The choice is ours.

God Bless

You’re kidding, right? A list of porn movie "titles"? We must avoid not only sin, but the “near occasion to sin.” Have you heard that phrase? It means you should avoid anything that might *lead *you to sin, thus *opening the door *to sin. Easier said than done, but stay vigilant.

Remember the words of God to Cain in Genesis 4, *before *he murdered Abel: “Sin is a demon lurking at your door, but you can be its master…” The problem is, where porn is concerned, we sometimes don’t want to be master.

I’m still wondering if this is a serious question. Brother, I struggle. Don’t kid yourself. You know that those titles are **highly **suggestive.

Avoid the near occasions of sin – in other words, avoid all your “triggers.”
I try to read the whole thread before I contribute. Oops. Someone already gave you this advice. But it’s good advice!

Sorry, I ramble too long. This is important. Yes, avoid all occassions of sin, but also I want to train myself interiorly so that this is not a raging battle. We are called to master our sexuality through practice of chastity. If I don’t build up a spiritual life can I even walk past a Maxim cover in a 7-11 without going to confession?

Okay, you can all clobber me as a dirty old lecher now. :o
I won’t. I’m still praying for you.👍

^ only reason I was looking at the titles is that so I know what titles to avoid, not the ones I should look into.

as I look into RAWs/Untranslated videos, which tend to be more unfiltered between H / non-H videos.

basicly it’s a torrent collection website that has ALL of the kinds
some of the titles of the videos/things over there, that an extremely small portion of it can actually be…err >.>’…H/porn content…

though of course, not all of them (only a few of them), and usually they are easy to know if they are or not, but I look at it to make sure of any that are of that sort so I don’t look into them (as a semi precaution kinda thing)

note to self: reread Genesis

…and no, using what I said above…again, looking at the titles is not a trigger…let me emphasis a point I said
one of the reasons was to look for what they were, so that at other places I don’t accidently download and view them
and I can master it, did you read the past pages of what I was saying this whole time in this topic?

@ seren1ty : already solved. I’m somehow guessing you read only the first posts and then didn’t bother reading the rest of the pages…

@Norn: wow, triple post, huh…

Keep your sarcasm.

Seems to me, there’s a lot of questions here for you. You do not seem to be worried about anything. The facts appear to be this: If there is a question you have about “porn”/“pornography”, you need to think about what that ACTUALLY is because I’m not sure you see it yourself.

The question you have with pornography is not a matter of “accidentally” downloading or not downloading, accidentally viewing or not. Seems to be more a matter of, “if I come across it, can I peek without it being a problem?”

Well, the clue is thought and where you’re going with it. Doesn’t matter what I or anyone else thinks. It’s between you and God. Don’t confuse yourself.

ive been doing it for almost a year now and i just found out its a mortal sin. I stoped as soon as i found out it was mortal, but i still have the urge in my to watch it. I dont think im going to be able to keep this up. I started to sweat at night and its realy hard to stop. like i said…i havent watched in a while but i dont think i will be ale to keep it up…help me please

Let me ask you this question. How would you feel if you popped in a porn and saw your mother servicing men and women from years ago? How about popping in a porn and seeing your daughter servicing men and women, or your sister?

What would your objection be?

Simply put, porn is bad.

However, at the risk of making light of a serious subject, it might be in order to ask, “What is pornography?”

My godson’s wife destroyed some legitimate medical texts because “there were pictures of people with their clothes off.” I pointed out that some of the pictures showed people with their skin off, too. One could suppose that she would be very offended by some of the art and statues on display in the Vatican, but like medical texts, those art works are not intended to titilate.

Simple nakedness is not a sin nor is it pornographic.

Exploitation of the human body, created by God in His own image, is a sin.

It is a mortal sin to watch porn…aswell with masterbation.

If you are struggling with porn, dont give up, keep praying that the Lord gives you strength and you should probably say a novena to St. Jude, he is the saint for struggle and desperate situations. It helps!

God bless!

The sixth commandment (FORBIDS ALL WORDS LOOKS AND ACTIONS ) contrary to holy purity.
The Ninth forbids(ALL IMPURE THOUGHTS AND DESIRES ) willfully entertained or concented to.

It is a Mortal Sin.

  3. No STDs
  4. No telling a girl you love her just to get sex
  5. Men know that if you don’t have a sexual release then it drives you crazy, Porn is just a visual aid to a natural process.
Just being honest."

I give you credit for being honest, and I say this without trying to pick a fight, but lets look at this from the woman’s point of view.

I had to post a forum on here to get help about my husband’s addiction to pornography, which we both found wrong. He doesn’t know this, but to find out that he needs to watch that to get his “tension” released when he has me is about the most degrading thing ever. Also, even if we weren’t married, I would still find it very degrading. To me, he is watching these very skinny, beautiful, and sexually talented women that I could never live up to. And maybe he isn’t asking me to, but even so, I know it’s in the back of his mind. And I don’t want my husband to act like a porn star, I find it very dirty. All of that stuff makes me want to puke, knowing that my husband has a problem watching it. It brings lust to your heart and when you are watching it and getting whatever out of it you get, you are watching it with sinful intents. If you want to learn about, fall in love with someone, get married and practice it then. It’s fun learning together! So yes, it is wrong… especially when it hurts others in the meanwhile and as far as I see it, there is no moral reason that anyone can give that would justify it.

P.S. - what you get out of it, is supposed to be directly related to sex. Sex was given by God to those who are married to become intimate together and to bring children. It is not for personal gratification!

When an individual “uses” or “enjoys” porn–hang on. I’m trying to find the right verb appropriate for porn. Those two don’t work. Ah, I have it.

When an individual desecrates his sexuality and wounds his soul with porn, he joins his own sin with the sin of many others, validating it. Those who “act” in pornography, those who film it, produce it, distribute it–they are all caught in the same terrible destruction. By helping to make the industry profitable, an individual encouraging sin in countless others, beyond simply crushing his own soul.

The consequences of pornography are horrific. They pervade our culture, and they affect the individual in ways he may not realize for a very long time. It poisons our relationships, it makes it difficult to see Christ in our brothers and (especially) sisters.

Don’t think for a moment that pornography is a victimless crime.
