People are now “allowed” to kill in Islam. They are allowed to fight if fighting is necessary, and sometimes war is necessary. The Qur’an regulates it. Killing innocent people is NEVER allowed in the Qur’an.
So what about that one British teacher, the Danish cartoon artist. Don’t say they are extremist. The Qur’an is way more violent than Deuteronomy.

Why should I have to justify stupidity or extremism? I won’t.

Islam is a religion of moderation and tolerance. Acts of extremism, terrorism, injustice, oppression, etc etc etc are ALL against Islam. Period.

Then why are their so many violent verses in the Koran?

“Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.” (Sura 2:216)

“They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.” (Sura 4:89)

By the way if you are such a good Muslim at least put it down for religion on your profile.

Check this out! Sheik “Explains” the Differences Between Men & Women. Well, he should think before he talks. Making a fool of himself and the religion of peace. So, how do you explain that video and the narrative below? And y’all western educated women here will go to great length to DECEIVE yourself that the prophet was right to call women “deficient.”
  • Volume 3, Book 48, Number 826: * Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
The Prophet said, “Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?” The women said, “Yes.” He said, “This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.”

What is your opinion of verses like this?

“Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four” (Sura 4:3)

“and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.” (Sura 4:34)

Not trying to be rude just wondering.
Surah 4:03 actually states:
And if you fear that you will not deal fairly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if you fear that you can not deal justly, then one only, or that your right hand possess. Thus it is more likely that you will not do injustice.

And in the Glorious Quran with commentary that whyislam distributes, it states in the commentary that polygamy is confirmed, however limitations are introduced…

Polygamy is permissible, not required. I don’t have a problem with this verse or even polygamy. I know that a man can not Islamically take another wife without permission of his first wife, and no woman is forced into a polygamous situation. There are also conditions that must be met if a man is to take more than one wife, he needs to treat them equally and provide them with separate but eqivalent accomodations.

4:34: Men are the protectors of women, because Allah has given the one more than the other, and because they spend of their property. So righteous women are the devoutly obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah had guarded. As for those from whom you fear disloyalty, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and beat them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. For Allah is High, Sublime.

And I know this has been explained already… *the sanction in the case of marriage is a last resort. The Prophet SAWS never hit any of his wives. He also warned the community that it is a donkey that beats his wife. If a man has to put his hands on his wife, it is supposed to be light and symbolic, and not leaving any type of marks. Hitting your wife is a last resort if she’s way out of control. Any man that hits and harms his wife beats her in the sense that comes to mind when you think of someone being beaten… that is wrong and it’s not permissible.

Why can God not beget. Are you saying that God is not all powerful?
He simply says Be and it is.

Surah 112:
“Say: He is Allah the One, the Only
Allah the Eternal, Absolute
He begetteth not, nor is He begotten.
There is none like unto Him.”

Surah 112:

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten.
There is none like unto Him.”
This quote is a reactionary quote to the Blessed Trinity. I know that the Blessed Trinity and Islam are not mixable, however answer my question. Could God beget if He wanted to?

I’m fascinated that you found tawheedah’s quote to be reactionary to the Trinity. It’s actually not–it was not revealed in response to Christians but to polytheists, but it basically refutes all the ways in which people incorrectly perceive God.

You asked why are there “so many violent verses” in the Qur’an.

One of the most powerful verses in the Qur’an, to me, is 4:75. And it gives the reason for “violence.” However, it is practically NEVER quoted to attack Islam.

And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!”

So why don’t you tell me, why people should not fight for those who are weak, ill-treated, and oppressed, begging Allah for rescue from their oppressors, begging Allah for a protector, for help. Tell me why you should not fight.

God explains many times in the Qur’an that it is not befitting His Majesty to beget a son.

This reflects one of the many heresies that make up the patchwork that this islam. BTW many of these heresies came about, and were dealt with hundreds of years before Muhammad manufactured his religion. When we say Jesus is the Son of God we do not mean in the human sense (note the capital “S”). Jesus and the Father have always existed unlike in a human father-son relationship. They are co-eternal and equally infinite. We use the words like “Son” and “Word” of God as analogies. Since God is infinite and we are finite we will always have to use analogies to describe Him. You can look to Jesus as the second manifestation of God in our salvation history. It is the Spirit of God that dwelt in a human body. This manifestation had a complete human nature and a complete divine nature.

Most of these heresies were dealt with by the time St. Augustine died. The prevalence of these heresies points to the theory that the quran is actually a Syro-aramaic heretical document that was floating around at the time. Muhammad just adapted it to allow him to ascend to power and commit his murderous acts.

This quote is a reactionary quote to the Blessed Trinity. I know that the Blessed Trinity and Islam are not mixable, however answer my question. Could God beget if He wanted to?
Yes, the verse demolishes the belief in Trinity. We have to wonder. Does God really need a son?? God cannot need anything.
Your question: however answer my question. Could God beget if He wanted to?

There is a big IF there. It would be better first to ask God if he would like (or wanted) to beget and to be begotten. If the reply from your God is Yes, then the question will be answered easily.

As far as the Muslims are concerned, (It is written in the Quran) Allah is capable of doing everything that He wills. In the Quran Allah has told us that He does will to beget anyone.

WE have seen the beget and begat in the bible in Mathew Ist. Chapter: Abraham begat Issac. Issac begat Jacob. Jacob begat jehudah… That is begat etc. We do not feel that God begat Jesus in the language of the bible. That is not our fault or our mistake.

The proof of God begetting as per bible is not available in the bible. It is something symbolic and even the christian do not understand it. So what can we Muslims do about it?? I am sure that the Jews would also deny God begetting any one.

Hopefully these questions don’t sound silly. I know that the debate has taken a different turn but I still want to ask questions about Islam.

How do Muslims carry out their religious services? Is it similar to Christian services? Do you have a sermon or homily? Do you have the equivalent of a pastor?

How do Muslims view issues such as abortion? On what moral issues do Muslims agree with the Catholic Church?

Moses was given “thou shall not kill”

Not thou shall not kill except when…

The quran is clearly against Gods wish. God would not change his mind.
You tapped around the answer. I know what other texts say, if the quran is as perfect as you say why does it contradict Gods will?“thou shall not kill”

As for God protecting his “book”. This sounds like the Christian argument.
If the book was so protected why would Aisha’s goat have eaten some? Why have there been errors in text and those texts burned if they were so protected?

The worship of Muhammad is very rampant in Islam. Why do they kill / get angry over images of Muhamad but not Jesus or Moses?
God said that HE would preserve His word, that He would preserve the Qur’an. Is that not possible? Can God protect His Book from mistakes or not? He Can, and the Qur’an has been protected, while other texts have not been preserved because they are not final.

Now, the commandment given to Moses–in fact, the entire Torah was given to one man, Moses. The commandment is to not murder. And in the Qur’an it says that someone who kills an innocent person–it’s like he has killed ALL of mankind. And if he saves the life of one person, it’s like he has saved all of mankind.

If you read Deuteronomy, which I encourage you to do, you will find the death penalty prescribed for a number of offenses. If you continue reading the Old Testament you will find the Children of Israel being told to wipe out entire nations of people–men, women, children, even cattle!

People are now “allowed” to kill in Islam. They are allowed to fight if fighting is necessary, and sometimes war is necessary. The Qur’an regulates it. Killing innocent people is NEVER allowed in the Qur’an.

Because two wrongs dont make a right. Religious violence is an evil means of reaching a noble goal. The early christians, did they resort to violence? Martin Luther king, did he resort to violence? Gandhi? No they didnt, and for their peaceful methods, they not only NOT SMEARED the name of their religions, they were also greatly honored.

Also, religious violence means that murder is negotiable in your religion.

Hopefully these questions don’t sound silly. I know that the debate has taken a different turn but I still want to ask questions about Islam.

How do Muslims carry out their religious services? Is it similar to Christian services? Do you have a sermon or homily? Do you have the equivalent of a pastor?
Some mosques in America have someone on their payroll who has had extensive religious training (although there is no actual certification or hierarchy) who leads the prayers and gives sermons. That is sometimes the equivalent of a pastor. He is called on to provide religious instruction and information to the community, counseling, etc.

There are the five daily prayers held at a mosque all the time, where the Muslims will just come in and pray together and then leave.

But on Fridays, it is congregational prayer day, and everyone comes to the mosque to listen to a sermon and then pray a short ritual prayer together.

How do Muslims view issues such as abortion? On what moral issues do Muslims agree with the Catholic Church? There are differences of opinion on a number of issues, because sometimes there isn’t clearcut proof one way or another so scholars use different methods and arrive at different conclusions. Some allow abortion early in pregnancy, on the belief that the soul has not been placed in the body, but typically ONLY if the health of the mother is threatened. Others forbid it altogether. The Qur’an forbids Muslims from killing their children either out of fear that they (parents) will become poor, or that the children would have a bad life–God says that HE will take care of the children so this is not a valid excuse for an abortion.

Birth control is allowed in Islam usually (I think the Church forbids it?) but only if BOTH spouses agree on it.

Intimate relations are only allowed in the framework of marriage. Adultery/fornication is a major sin, as are any acts of homosexuality which fall in the same category of sex outside marriage. I can try to answer for other moral issues but I can’t think of any right now… just ask and God willing I can give you the answer.

Moses was given “thou shall not kill”

Not thou shall not kill except when…
I bet to differ. The command is “thou shalt not MURDER.”

Killing is allowed in some cases. Proof:
Leviticus 24:16 anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death. The entire assembly must stone him. Whether an alien or native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, he must be put to death.

Numbers 35:17 Or if anyone has a stone in his hand that could kill, and he strikes someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
The quran is clearly against Gods wish. God would not change his mind.
Actually, according to Christians, God did “change his mind” and the law changed a lot–like polygamy was allowed then it wasn’t, shellfish was prohibited then allowed, circumcision wasn’t commanded but then it was, people didn’t have to accept Jesus and now they do. Lots of changes.
You tapped around the answer. I know what other texts say, if the quran is as perfect as you say why does it contradict Gods will?“thou shall not kill”
Please, I beg you. Consult your Bible, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and see how many times the Israelites are commanded to kill.

As for God protecting his “book”. This sounds like the Christian argument.
?
If the book was so protected why would Aisha’s goat have eaten some?
I didn’t know Aisha had a goat. hehe. Never heard this story. Anyway, the original mushaf wasn’t stored with Aisha anyway, it was with Hafsah. The Qur’an has been preserved–I’m not talking about the pages of a book, but the words. The Qur’an was memorized by the Companions of Muhammad, and it was written down. People still memorize it today, word for word, exactly the same way they did then. When people wrote it down, though, they would write pieces of it on anything they could find.
Why have there been errors in text and those texts burned if they were so protected?
What was burned was the materials that had portions of the Qur’an. It wasn’t that they had errors, but when the first book version was made and distributed, all other written forms were destroyed so people wouldn’t be confused or read something that was mistaken. The preservation is in the memories, though, which aren’t burned.
The worship of Muhammad is very rampant in Islam.
In fact, if Muslims worshiped Muhammad then they would be damned to hell according to the Qur’an, for commiting the worst sin ever.
Why do they kill / get angry over images of Muhamad but not Jesus or Moses?
Did you know that there are pictures of Muhammad in the airport in Tehran? See people killing or getting angry over that? Of course not. What is so upsetting are the insulting images. And Muslims are just as upset about disrespect being shown to Moses or Jesus. It just tends to not make news.

Do you think that anyone should have fought the Nazis for what they were doing to the Jews?
