I’m sorry that you have lost 2 friends as a result of coming to Christ. It always seems so strange to me that this happens, and yet it does repeatedly and the Bible warns us that this will be the case for those who follow Christ.

Be not afraid, said a great man, quoting another great man.

Thank you. I’m sorry too. I’m sorry for the lost friendship, but I’m mostly sorry that they can’t/won’t see what G-d has blessed me to be able to see. I will pray for them.

Welcome home, my dear brother in the Lord. Sweet smell of roses while praying to our Blessed Mother? - You are most blessed indeed!!

Personally, I LOVE to hear the names Yeshua and Miriam used.
Thank you! Me too! They’re beautifful names, aren’t they? 😃

…My exam went very well. I think I got an A!
Congratulations. What was it in?
I just got the book in the mail a few minutes ago.
Wow, that was quick. You’ll have to let me know what you think about it. Also, take a quick look at the authors autograph. I asked him to write a generic one, since I suspected it might be shared.

PS, I also have a piece I wrote on the Eucharist that I should have tossed in. Duh!

Remember that you have been given a very special gift and that even when you had an open heart and were merely Seeking, you still were hesitant to believe what your heart was telling you. Be extremely patient with them and give them time to seek out what changed your mind. Help them to understand that it was a change in your heart that started things, more even than the change in your mind.

Did you say that you had originally converted to Judaism?

Well, God Bless,

Thank you! It was in French, and I’m glad it’s over!

I’ll definitely let you know how I like the book. I’ve already read the author’s autograph, and noticed it was a bit generic. I suspected that was why! Thank you very much!
As for the Eucharist, I’ve been reading about it online. It sounds interesting, even though I don’t understand it. I guess understanding will come in time, though.

Do you realize that in the Eucharist we have been given Christ himself, the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ so that we might join ourselves with him in the Sacrifice of Calvary? The veil between heaven and earth is drawn aside and he comes to us miraculously in the humble form of bread at each Mass.

This was foreshadowed time and again in the Old Testament, with the Manna in the desert being bread for the single day, given to sustain life, retained in the Tabernacle, in the Ark of the Covenant. The new bread is to sustain eternal life as Christ told us himself. Read John 6:25 - 71. In it you will find the story where Jesus first tells his disciples that they will need to eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life with him. Notice that Jesus speaks of 3 different levels of faith among those who come to hear him. Those who come because of signs (a level 2 degree of faith) vs. those who merely come because they heard that he provided food (a level 1 degree of faith). Now he is asking for a deeper faith yet. A faith that requires letting go and believing God in ways that go beyond reason (but never against reason). This faith requires that we believe that is it possible for God to be present in the appearance of Bread and Wine. This requires Faith, given to us by the Grace of God. It requires that we cooperate with this Grace.

There is something that I want to say very badly. I believe that the time has come for me to post it here, on this thread. After researching the Church, praying, talking on here, reading the Gospels, and talking to my two priest friends:

I BELIEVE THAT YESHUA IS THE FULFILLMENT OF ALL THE PROPHECIES IN THE TANAKH. I BELIEVE THAT HE WAS CRUCIFIED, DIED, AND ROSE ON THE THIRD DAY IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ME WITH ETERNAL LIFE WITH G-D. I BELIEVE THAT HE WAS BORN TO THE VIRGIN MIRIAM, AND THAT SHE HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN HEAVEN AND WATCHES OVER ALL THOSE WHO LOVE HER. I BELIEVE THAT YESHUA AND MIRIAM LOVE ME, AND WANT ME TO SPENT ETERNITY WITH THEM AND G-D IN HEAVEN.

My hands were shaking like crazy as I typed this!
All praise and glory be to the Lord Jesus Christ. As it was in the begining is now, and ever shall be!!!

I’ve heard about the Real Presence in the Eucharist, but I’m not sure how it happens, and I don’t know how to back it up with Scripture. I don’t understand it, I guess. Also, I’ve never heard of these levels of faith. I’m not sure that I understand those either.

Hi Jew_man,

I have been following this thread since it was moved to apologetics. As you can see from my post count, I don’t currently post a lot (I am reading a lot right now - I am a cradle Catholic who is learning more about my faith). I just had to say though, how inspiring this thread has been. You are indeed blessed and God is with you.

My husband (who is in the process of converting to the Catholic faith) has had a similar experience as you… he felt a hand on his head in the church while praying, on two separate occassions. He also heard a voice telling him to share his experience (we were at a retreat that day) with the others after prayer. I guess I am just telling you that to say that I also believe your experience.

I have been praying for you as well. Welcome home! 🙂 :clapping: And please keep sharing… I love reading this thread.

Thanks for your post. It’s encouraging to know that there are people who believe mae, and who’ve had similar experiences. Thank you for your prayers too. It’s amazing that there are people who ahve been praying for me, and I didn’t even know it! I love postring on this thread, and reading the responses from the other posters. I’ve learned alot, and it’s been a great blessing to me. I hope it goes on for quite a while longer!
The people here have been great, as have the people at the parish here in my town. Just today, the RCIA director gave me her cell phone number and told me to call here anytime of the day or night, with any questions I might have, or if I just needed to talk about something.
The outpouring of love has been tremendous. :bounce:

Oh JM your story brought tears to my eyes - I am so happy for you, welcome home. :amen:

God Bless you. :clapping:

No, I haven’t had a chance yet. I’m going to talk to him tomorrow after Mass.

This is where you can use prayer to your advantage. Pray about it before hand and then continue to pray as you tell him your story and while you’re listening to his response. Pray that the Holy Spirit guide the both of you, that you say everything you should say, in a way that he can understand, but that you only say what you need to say (I have to add this to my prayers). Pray that the priest be receiptive to what you are sharing and Pray that the Holy Spirit allow the communication between the two of you to bear abundant fruit. Then pray that you accept whatever happens as a result, even if it’s a great big NOTHING.
