Dates. She lived centuries before Islam. Muhammed wasn’t born until around 570 A.D. She died at least 500 years before that. It is impossible that she would have followed Muhammed.
Didn’t she not die??? I thought the Assumption was her being carried into heaven body + soul? 🤷

You are correct about the Assumption. However, the dogma does not say that she did or did not die, only that she was assumed.

I, for one, hold that she died a peaceful death just prior to the event. Her soul, however, never left her body before she was given her glorified form.

Me, I believe the Old Testament and New Testament of the Christian Bible to be the word of God.
You…didn’t really answer the question.

Do you believe the Koran to be the inspired word of God?

Why are you applying the ‘pbuh’ on Jesus and Mother Mary’s name?

Only muslims & islam does that.

Mother Mary WAS NOT a muslim

Our Lord Jesus Christ **WAS NOT **a muslim

The Isa in the koran is **NOT **our Lord Jesus Christ

The Mary in the koran is **NOT **our Mother Mary
I think * that clears it up.

‘Allah’ simply means God in Arabic.

The question points to the integrity and credibility of their prophet Muhammad and the specific author(s) of the Koran.

At this point, no. But Muslims do.

What does this mean? Are you considering converting?

Or were you once a Muslim?

I wasn’t sure.

I was aware of certain points in the Qu’ran where Mary is the human mother of (Isa pbuh) - keep in mind that in Islam Muslims view Jesus (Isa pbuh) as a messenger and a prophet and not according to His true nature
If poll people and ask them if King Arthur was real, what do you think they will say? I’ll tell you. They will say, yes. Do you know how this happened? The authors wrote him into history. They found points in history and decided to weave him (and his lineage) into it. Over time, the fiction was believed true.

Islam does the same thing. They are taking truth and attempting to weave the Qur’an into that truth to offer validity for the fiction.

Good, then you understand that Islam is newer than Christianity or Judaism, even though they may pick and choose some of our beliefs in which to believe.

I don’t see why it is necessary for a Christian to study lies. I would read, yes-for academic reasons, but study falsehood, no.
When I read what is said - I have to think critically and examine why it is called “lies” and “falsehood” .

I was curious about the Islamic view of the Virgin Mary.

No.

No.

On the other hand, you “could” study, explore, and learn about the Islamic faith.
I just wanted to know what your “At this point, no” meant. By phrasing it that way you implied that you might change your mind or had at one point believed the Quran to be the Word of God.

I’ve learned enough about Islam to know that it is false and Muhammad is a false prophet.

There is no issue with studying the Islamic faith. All of us should do so. However, we must keep something in mind when we do.

If Islam is inspired from God, Christianity is wrong. If Christianity is wrong, there is no reason to accept anything in the NT. If the NT is trown out, there is no reason to accept that Jesus lived at all. If Jesus did not exist, Islam cannot be right about Jesus. IF they are wrong about Jesus, Islam cannot be inspired by God.

If Islam is right, Judaism has been corrupted. If Judaism has been corrupted, there is no reason to accept the OT. IF the OT is thrown out, the claims made by the Qur’an about OT figures are fictional. IF that is the case, Islam cannot be right.

Stop right there.

Muhammed is NOT IN ANY WAY a Church Father. You cannot connect Islam and Christianity in that way. AT ALL. Even if you wanted to make him Christian, which he was not, he would have been teaching at least 5 heresies off the top of my head. Probably more if we tried to list them.

Muhammed has NO credentials in Christianity. Nothing that he says shines any light on the Gospels or the faith. It is a total waste of time to try to see him as such.
Makes sense.

If Islam is right, then Prophet Jesus (pbuh) will return to rule the world and NOT to deliver judgment on the rest of humanity because that prerogative will be exercised later on by the Master of the Day of Judgment.

What this means then is that if Islam is right, it just would not make any sense whatsoever for Jesus (pbuh) not to exist

I’m just curious, in Islamic thinking, why is Jesus the one to return to rule the world and not Muhammad?

That is his divine mission in life and hence Muslims believe that both his life and his mission are yet to be completed.

Nope and here is why.

The New Testement was put together to support the claims of Christianity that Jeus was the Messiah, the Son of God, and the second person of the Trinity who died for our sins, rose again, and ascended into heaven. Other than the New Testement, there is no proof for any of this. If Christianity is wrong about these points, and Islam says it is, there is NO reason to accept the NT as being true. IF that is the case, there is no proof for the existance of Jesus that would really matter. So, there is no reason to think that there was a Jesus to begin with.

It is like a court of law. Once you prove someone lied, everything that they say is no longer accepted automatically.
