:tsktsk:
Fu’aad = Qalb, that’s what is mentioned in the following official Arabic dictionaries:
لسان العرب:
والقَلْبُ مُضْغةٌ من الفُؤَاد مُعَلَّقةٌ بالنِّياطِ. ابن سيده: القَلْبُ الفُؤَاد، مُذَكَّر، صَرَّح بذلك اللحياني، والجمع: أَقْلُبٌ وقُلوبٌ، الأُولى عن اللحياني.
الصّحّاح في اللغة:
القَلْب: الفؤاد، وقد يعبَّر به عن القلب
Source.
Its strange how Muslims will try to find any workaround or excuse when they find something illogical regarding Islam…
Must you always take a stab at Muslims. We cannot lie concerning Islam or the Qur’aan. This is something you need tO remember. Some Muslims are over enthusiastic and jump the gun like in this case (Qalb).
Now let me take a part of what you yourself typed from Al Sahhaah
الصّحّاح في اللغة:
القَلْب: الفؤاد، وقد يعبَّر به عن القلب
[/RIGHT]
What does that say? AlQalb: Al Fou’aad and it MAY be used to refer to as Al Qalb (Heart-Organ). Not that it IS the Heart but it MAY be used to refer to as the heart (Organ). In other words it
isnt the Organ - the Heart but can be used to refer to it. Isn’t this what I said in my post ? it can be
taken to mean the Heart.
Its primary meaning is
not the Organ-Heart however. Since you appear to be an Arabic speaker you should know exactly what heart means - the inner part or the inside of something.
When considering meanings and Alfaaz of the Qur’aan, the Qur;aan itself is the reference not linguists. You need to check and see the Qur’aan uses that word.
Which is what the very next sentence in Lisaan Al 3arab does. The vvery next sentence o the part you used that it is: Here it is:
**
وقوله تعالى: نَزَلَ به الرُّوحُ الأَمِـينُ على قَلْبك؛ قال الزجاج: معناه نَزَلَ به جبريلُ، عليه السلام، عليك، فَوَعاه قَلْبُك، وثَبَتَ فلا تَنْساه أَبداً.
**
And HIS saying (Allahs): Rooh Al Ameen (Spirit of Truth) descended with it (the Qur’aan) on your QALB. Now is the organ-heart a container for Revelation or any knowledge? Its just an Organ. Al Zajjaaj then comments saying, this means Gabriel descended with it/revealed it to you so your Qalb contains it hence you will never forget it.
Does this sound like the heart as in Organ ?
Some more examples from the Qur’aan.
002.204 وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يُعْجِبُكَ قَوْلُهُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا فِي
قَلْبِهِ وَهُوَ أَلَدُّ الْخِصَامِ
002.204 Wamina a(l)nn[a]si man yuAAjibuka qawluhu fee al[h]ay[a]ti a(l)dduny[a] wayushhidu All[a]ha AAal[a] m[a] fee
qalbihi wahuwa aladdu alkhi[sa]m(i)
And of people whose words you like in this world/life and Allah is a witness to what is in his** heart.**
Does this sound like the Organ ? Or is this his ‘inside’ ?
Incase all the above didn’t convince you although it should here is one that is indesputable. Allah uses both words in one verse.
006.110 وَ
نُقَلِّبُ أَفْئِدَتَهُمْ وَأَبْصَارَهُمْ كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَنَذَرُهُمْ فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
006.110 We (too) shall turn to (confusion) their hearts and their eyes, even as they refused to believe in this in the first instance: We shall leave them in their trespasses, to wander in distraction.
006.110
Wanuqallibu af-idatahum waab[sa]rahum kam[a] lam yu/minoo bihi awwala marratin wana[th]aruhum fee [t]ughy[a]nihim yaAAmahoon(a)
There you go, bot words used one after the other.
Wanuqallibu af-idatahum
Wanuqallibu from QALB - naqlibu means we revolve, we overturn/turn
af-idatahum af-idatahum - Their HEARTS
Clearly Allah can’t be using the word heart twice one after the other as in ‘thier hearts their hearts’ but look further how it is used, whats the next word ?
waab[sa]rahum and their site/vision.
We (QLB) revolve/change their (Fu’aad) hearts and (BaSar) vision.
It combined Heart (Fu’aad) and Vision one after the other as proof that these are sensory functions. Fu’aad - the real meaning of Heart is a sensory/physical thing hence it is lumped with BasAr (vision) which is another sensory function. Qalb is NEVER used that way in the Qur’aan. It is always used to define ‘the inside’ or in its varients to define revolving, over turning or switching. Nothing else.
Here is another example which is refering to sensory perception. Which ‘heart’ does it use ? Qalb or Fu’aad ?
017.036 وَلا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ إِنَّ** السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ** كُلُّ أُولَئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْئُولا
017.036 And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).
017.036 Wal[a] taqfu m[a] laysa laka bihi AAilmun inna** a(l)ssamAAa wa(a)lba
ara wa(a)lfu-[a]da** kullu ol[a]-ika k[a]na AAanhu mas-oola
When a verse is referring to sensory organs it used the Fu’aad not the Qalb. This is why it is used together with ‘hearing’ and ‘seeing’ in this verse because all sensory or organs. By now you should know why it didn’t use Qalb in this case.
You are a bit out of luck because thats what I’m doing - translate the Qur’aan so if you want to take this further I am more than willing to show how ever single occurrence of the root QLB in any verse in the Qur’aan is used and how every occurrence of Fu’aad (The real meaning of the organ heart) is used. Trust me there won’t be one occurrence in your favor.
This is the Qur’aan don’t forget.
