At least you know it was her loss.Tell me about it. It’s only happend to me once, but I was still irritated. I thought we hit it off-I met her at a bookstore we talked for about an hour. Oh well, it was about ten years ago.
Still irritates me though.
Let me guess the rest of this. After you graduated from law school (or perhaps when it was obvious you were going to graduate) you suddenly became far more handsome and engaging than previously, and women finally noticed how good looking and charming you really are. Right? The only girl that was bona fide interested in me before I went to law school, I lost that number too. I still remember the name and surname and the street name over half a life later. I just couldn’t recall the house number and apartment number.
Let’s just say I had to remind myself of that!At least you know it was her loss.![]()
Great point.Wow! How brave. Now, this is just me, but if I gave a guy my number, unasked… well. It would be a situation where I’d never see him again if I didn’t do something and had already decided that he was godly and faithful and attractive. The pre-vetting is done. She’s already sized you up. You’re in, if you want to be. Give her a call.
And he was never heard from again…So what happen did you do it ???/and this is a question asked all the way from South Africa.waiting
Wow! I am so touched and amazed by stories like this. :extrahappy:I gave my number to a guy in a grocery store once. Now I’m married to him.![]()
I imagine that wasn’t on his list of things to get at the store. Maybe I’m shopping in the wrong store!I gave my number to a guy in a grocery store once. Now I’m married to him.![]()
Where do you live? I can understand women seeking men with good jobs, but having a preference for college seniors or Ph.D. candidates? I have never heard of that. Not that I blame women for that, because I sure don’t. Just part of the game.

First of all, thank you to all who have respondedSo what happen did you do it ???/and this is a question asked all the way from South Africa.waiting
She may be taken but perhaps unsure about the relationship so she’s “exploring other options”. Who knows, maybe her current b/f is not a good, Catholic-retreat-going person.First of all, thank you to all who have responded
Here’s an update:
I did, in fact, text her tuesday afternoon and talked to her for a little bit, but she eventually stopped responding which was odd. I found her Facebook profile Tuesday night and friend requested her. As of right now there has been no response to the friend request, nor has there been any other response via text message. Also, on her Facebook profile, I am able to look at a select few of her pictures and there are pictures with what appears to be a boyfriend.
The mystery/drama continues…
Now I’m SUPER confused
hahahaThrow the number in the garbage and join the monastery.
You will thank me in about 50 or 60 years.

As a kid I was basically non-attractive because I was first fat, later just plump, nearly always on a doctor’s leave from physical education classes and generally not very fit as a result. On the other hand, flirting would be used to obtain homework to copy from me, oh sure it was. In highschool, things improved because the perception of a girl that age was closer to that of an adult woman, so basically not being a sporstman could be a liability but wasn’t making you untouchable, and I became skinny. By the last year, friends would introduce me as “the biggest charmer of this school” but in truth I didn’t have a girlfriend for a split second throughout highschool, I had my heart broken a couple of times by unilateral affections, plus a complicated non-relationship with a former personal enemy.Let me guess the rest of this. After you graduated from law school (or perhaps when it was obvious you were going to graduate) you suddenly became far more handsome and engaging than previously, and women finally noticed how good looking and charming you really are. Right?Funny how that works. When I was a freshman in high school, I was anything but popular with girls. But as a senior, guaranteed of graduation, I suddenly became much more attractive. As a college freshman, it was hard to get a date. As a senior, it was hard to fight them off. Last year of grad school? Bachelor paradise. First paying job with prospects? They would accost you everywhere.
LOL, yeah, I use that when I coach people and there’s an anonymous questionnaire for students to fill. Both of the law firms where I worked sent me to get the results from the clerks of justice if a girl or some other guy couldn’t bring them. But by that time I was heartbroken enough to be dysfunctional. The combination of a suit and no wedding ring really do enhance a man’s appearance and personality.![]()
I don’t really either but if that’s the only thing they appreciate in the offer then I won’t be bothering them long. I’m ever so sligtly narcissistic, therefore I need the woman to put up at least a passable polite impression of being captivated with my personality. Not that I blame women for that, because I sure don’t. Just part of the game.
Oh boy, as the holder of a criminal law degree and thus an expert on human nature, I am happy to run to your aid.First of all, thank you to all who have responded
