The Tide of Victory by Eric Flint and David Drake (Belisarius saga V)
Woah, that’s really funny, 'cos about a week ago I finished Love is Stronger than Death, by Cynthia Bourgeault. In the middle of Peter Kreeft’s “Love is Stronger than Death” right now. So far really enjoying it, just like I have all his other books.
I love how he can take deep philosophical topics and make them accessible to the average reader.
The entire book is like that, if memory serves, and the only reason I don’t recommend it to more people. The book itself is almost like The Big Bang Theory; one moment it’s hard science, the next we’ve got physical comedy. (And sometimes they combine together in explosions…)I finished “The Martian,” by Andy Weir.
A word of caution. The very first sentence of the book would be off-putting to someone who objects to bad language, but in today’s world, those five people won’t buy the book anyway.
