I’m reading through the whole Bible. The reading plan that I’m using has you in the book of Psalms almost every day, which is cool. Psalms is my favorite book in the Bible.

Nice! Which plan are you using? I’ve been looking for a good reading plan. The last time I read through the Bible I just started at Genesis and went straight through. I did finish it, but it was a bit of a challenge, to say the least.

I’m using the plan in the ESV Study Bible. Every day, it has you go to four places:
  1. Psalms/ Wisdom Literature
  2. Pentateuch/History of Israel
  3. Chronicles/Prophets
  4. Gospels/Epistles.
You get a good amount of variety every day.

The bible, about to start Deuteronomy

Plus, the catechism of the Catholic Church

FOUR WITNESSES by Rod Bennett a Protestant author searching for the early Church, discovering the early Fathers which led to his conversion. WOW! So much history. Wonderful. As John Cardinal Newman said if you go deep into history, one will cease to be Protestant. If you want to discuss your Catholic beliefs with a Protestant, read this.

Covers Clement of Rome, Ignatious of Antioch, Justin Martyr, and Irenaeus of Lyons.

Star Wars: Tales from Jabba’s Palace

A collection of short stories about the different individuals/beings who were in Jabba’s palace around the time of Return of the Jedi.

Author Hudson Talbot - King Aurthor series

Finally, a book that makes my husband and little girls excited!

I think I’m gonna give Lord of the Rings another try. Also reading The Flowers of Evil by Baudelaire.

‘The Book of the Secret of Secrets and the Manifestation of Lights’ by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani [may Allah have mercy on him]. The title is quite a mouthful. It’s not a long book by any means, but it has a lot of wisdom in it.

THE PROTESTANT’S DILEMMA BY Devin Rose

Everyone, Catholic and Protestant, needs to read this. As a Catholic, I’m amazed at the differences. I would not give it to a Protestant but would only recommend it if he was sincerely interested in knowing Catholicism.

As I Lay Dying - Faulkner

Marianne Werefkin: Il Fervore Della Visione (using the Italian dictionary like crazy! agonizing) Va bene…!

Faulkner & Dostoevsky - interesting study which draws a parallel between the two. Dostoevsky was much more of a pronounced Christian, but the author contends (I think correctly) that Faulkner was kind of an atheist/agnonstic quasi-Christian: compassion, courage, honor, integrity, dignity, love, humility - this is what gives meaning to human existence. Just re-read Absalom, Absalom after about 10 years - a FANTASTIC book, just blew me away - if you are looking for a great book for the summer, go for it.

I’ve been trying to read ‘The Satanic Verses’ by Salman Rushdie but I can’t seem to get into it and/or see the point of it.

In some ways it’s gorgeously written but I can’t help but feel the characters he chose to create and write about don’t merit their own book.

Just finished In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O’Brien and am currently reading Embers by Sandor Marai.

following EWTN program Saints & Scoundrels …I picked up copy of Flannery O’Conner’s Collections . so far, brilliant writer!

I don’t understand the context, but my favorite book is the Glories of Mary by St. Liguori
