What we ALL agree on:
  1. We are all sinners - no better than she.
  2. God forgives those who repent. If she has repented, she is forgiven. That is between her & her confessor.
    3.Jesus welcomed sinners - The Church welcomes sinners - which is a good thing since #1 is true.
  3. Pregnancy is not a sin - but in the case it was the result of sin.
  4. Babies are ALWAYS beautiful gifts from God.
What we disagree on:
  1. Is she qualified to remain in her position as a hired youth director, serving as a role model for teens at this time.
  2. What effect positive/negative her obvious choice to have premarital sex will have on the teens she leads.

Thanks for summing it up so pointedly and stating it in this way.

I also wonder if we will even get the answer here.
All I know is we need to pray for the priest and the people of the parish that will decide this issue. Let’s just take a breath from all this heated discussions and pray for the people involved…the new mommy as well as the parish folk.
