It’s reversed psychology: ‘if they don’t join you they must be haters or phobes!’

But there are also very life-giving teachings available to people with same-sex attraction, especially among Catholics. And the idea that gay, lesbian or bisexual people should just go out and “live their sexuality” is potentially a very harmful teaching, among other reasons because living out your sexuality is just not associated with particularly good outcomes in terms of physical and psychological health.
The problem is quite complex; yet, the same reasoning persists (do you) which has had a detrimental effect on the Spiritual Life of Catholics and non-Catholics alike–take the 'kill the baby ‘cause it’s going to Heaven’ thing; yep, abortion is good cause it keeps unwanted children from being born into such bleak existence as that of our confused and dysfunctional world… yeah, and et is always going to travel the vast expanse of the universe to study our sub-light culture with awe and a generous heart!

…well, in a simplistic view, you are correct; yet, reality is more than just a cold shower… even heterosexuals who only engage in “heterosexual” sex can miss the boat through willful disobedience and rejection of God in oh so many aspects of their lives!

Yep; let’s play the ‘blame God’ game.

Did God compel Whitney Houston to dump her spiritual singing, embrace social entertainment, and proceed to marry into a destructive relationship, and then commit suicide (you can insert the name of most celebrities and the average joes/jills)?

God did not make a single person want to eat mice for lunch and smoked salmon for diner… ditto any other human condition, as attraction, love, hate…

God did set boundaries, as He did with Adam and Eve; God does allow man to choose to reject Him and everything that He has to offer:
19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.
You, as I and the rest of the world, are free to choose!

In 1933, the Nazis enacted the Law for the Prevention of Genetically Diseased Offspring (commonly known as the Sterilization Law) which allowed anyone with a hereditary disease to be sterilized. In 1939, they started a program to eradicate “genetic defective” and described the victims with the euphemism lebensunwertes Leben or “lives unworthy of living.” They started off by euthanizing “defective” children under three years of age and soon expanded this program to include adolescents, juvenile delinquents, Jewish children, and then adults.
…and Hillary Clinton and other elitist believe that they have the right to terminate life if they deem it not “perfect” or deficient… some are pushing for genetic control as in the movie “the Island” where clones are grown to specifications to be consumed through organ/parts and surrogacy… soon, if you are part of the elite, you will be able to call on your medical team to create “the perfect” child (perhaps this would give impoverished women the chance to contribute to the world by being the human test-tube baby-carriers for Hillary and her bunch).

Man’s determination to play god has never ceased nor is it limited to any arena.

I agree with Ben Shapiro (did I spell that right?) that the Church needs to get out of civil marriage contracts entirely. The secular world sees marriage as a social construct that exists because of civil laws. In other words, being married only means that you’ve entered into a civil contract with another person. So, in their mind, there is no objective substantial reality of the married state, only a socially constructed one which we can define. Thus, if people’s lives are being negatively affected by a lack of ability to enter into this civil contract AND no one is hurt by gay marriage, then there is no reason to not have gay marriages. And all arguments are about forcing your religion down non-religious people’s throats.
The problem is that homosexuals are not interested in civil rights; they want the Church to Bless their unions as “right” and “correct” with “God’s Blessings.”

This is the actual reality.

True marriage involves a totality of union of the person (AKA “a conjugal union”).

This union extends to all faculties of the body, including procreative functions.

Marriage is thus not just another more intimate form of a relationship, but a different kind of relationship.

The unity in a true marriage is as close to divine union as we can get on earth; 3 in a bed, with a complementarity of gifts, spilling over (by design, but not always in each case) with new life.

😨😰😭

That cannot ever happen!

Sharing DNA is wonderful… bananas: 50%; earthworms: 98%; cats: 90%… so should we eat dirt, lick our privates, and grow huge flowers and propagate by growing children in bunches/batches of tens, twenties or hundreds?

…there was a guy that stated: ‘never say never.’

…did you know that some “Christians” have homosexual bishops (both sexes) and that they boast about being the true church of Christ because God loves everyone as they are?

🤦. I was talking about the Roman Catholic Church. Hopefully it doesn’t legalize sodomy. God loves everyone, but there is this thing called sin, and sodomy is a sin. I don’t get how these Christians can say they follow God, yet they actively promote something that runs contrary to the purpose of God’s sacramental marriage

Hi, Joe!

Yeah, I understood… but I keep finding “Catholics” wanting to bend-over-backwards for the sake of “mercy” and “justice.”

Even the Pope continues to erode (by act or omission) the Doctrine of Faith as he introduces ideas and language that seems to support homosexuality, adultery, divorce, and remarriage…

I pray that the Holy Spirit take the reigns of our minds and hearts and guide to the Truth not the “feel-good-theology” that so many seem to be embracing.

You seem to be so so opinionated, on a subject for which there is zero evidence for, and reems against.
If the ‘argument’ is that you think people who do not interpret the ancient book the same way you do, will go to hell… are you against other religions as much as homosexuality.

Here is an absolute fact for you- no one chooses to be gay. It is not possible. I couldn’t chose to find someone I find abhorrent attractive. Could you?

I think the biggest shame for people like you is that you are twisted up over things that are none of your business, while married gay couples live happy lives.

The argument that marriage is about being able to procreate is absolutely absurd! I have three children. Are marriages with infertile couples nulled automatically? Thank God for all of the gay couples who adopt the children that careless straight people give away!

Try to not take the view that gay people ‘know what god wants but chose to ignore it’
And realise that gay people have no choice in who they find attractive, and if god made me in his image, he was gay too,

Imagine I had a book with said that if you participate in heterosexual behaviour you’d go to hell- you would disregard it, as you do not believe that it is true.

I hope that you follow every rule in the bible for yourself before you even consider casting the first stone. Are you wearing clothing of mixed fabrics? I guarantee it. That however is your business, whilst every one else’s genitals and what they do with them does not concern you.

God gave me free will right? That means you can chose your sexuality??? No. When did you decide to be straight?

You sound incredibly silly to the rest of the world I’m afraid.

Good look to you.

Intrigued,

I didn’t choose to find men attractive. Nevertheless I fail to understand how you get from that point to the claim that (a) I should be morally allowed to have sex with men, and (b) I should be allowed to marry a man. There are missing steps here.

Mind you, I assure you I’m not “twisted up” about couples in gay marriages. I wish them all the best. But I don’t see that as the best route for my life, and I do not see it as a wise choice for people like myself.

Marriage is a sexual relationship. Sexual relationships involving man+man and man+woman are objectively different, regardless of fertility considerations. This is a straightforward biological observation.

Hi!

Actually it does!

Reversed psychology is the tendency to convince others to join your team/mind set under the pretense that if they are not on your side/supportive then they must be “anti” you/your cause.

As a heterosexual I have been accosted more than once by homosexuals and “homosexual-friendly Catholics/Christians” with the homosexual agenda… from the active male homosexuals I have had invitations (at one time followed around) with the insinuation that I was too old fashioned not to try ('cause you don’t know what you’re missing) or with “complements” or with “pool party–lots of girls will be there” or “have a home…” It seems that if a man is not willing to “try” the “alternative” his really a homophobe (‘what are you afraid of…?’); the flip-side comes from “Catholics/Christians” who defend homosexuality as an extension of God’s Mercy/Love… ‘it’s not their fault… blah, blah, blah…’

I have had even the experience of a “devote” Catholic stop going to Mass (at least at the parish that I was visiting at the time) after an exchange where she wanted me to accept homosexuality as another means/lifestyle Blessed by God and welcomed, as it is, into Worship… when I refused to share her views… never saw her again (not during weekly Mass or Sunday Mass).

It seemed that I was wrong and judgmental and wrongfully sought to keep homosexuals from God:
Reverse psychology is a technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested. (https://www.bing.com/search?q=defin...&src=IE-TopResult&FORM=IETR02&conversationid=)
So if I want to be well with the world I must embrace the world’s principles.

As a Canadian Citizen who lives in such a multicultural society, where the views on gay “marriage” are different. I need facts to support why, as a Catholic, the Church cannot accept gay “marriage.” Also why gay marriage is wrong. The only reason (so far) why I think gay marriage is wrong is because it prevents procreation. Also didn’t God make it clear that same sex intercourse is wrong?

Any more reasons?
You don’t need a religious argument to speak about marriage. Revealed nature speaks for itself for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear (and sanity… and therein lies the problem)

It is not about interpretation: “abomination” cannot mean bad hosting!
Here is an absolute fact for you- no one chooses to be gay
Sexual attraction is not the same as observation of beauty. Sexual attraction is made with full knowledge of what/who the object of the attraction is and the expectation of the development of the relation.
you are twisted up over things that are none of your business, while married gay couples live happy lives.
I think the problem is that homosexuals continue to believe that if they say it is “right” God will acquiesce and capitulate.
Thank God for all of the gay couples who adopt the children that careless straight people give away!
I’m old enough to remember when dogs sticking their tongues out and slavering and tonguing people was not seen as a form of human affection–no matter how many people call their animals “my baby/ies” they remain animals.

You thank God that homosexuals are living it up in style against His Commandments (Romans 1)–did you know that people as you are also condemned by God for upholding such mindset? (Romans 1)
Try to not take the view that gay people ‘know what god wants but chose to ignore it’

And realise that gay people have no choice in who they find attractive, and if god made me in his image, he was gay too,
If I follow your lead, every married/single female that has/will approach me are fair game for me, right? God must simply put His Commandments aside when I respond to “their needs;” after all, I’m only human!
I hope that you follow every rule in the bible for yourself before you even consider casting the first stone. Are you wearing clothing of mixed fabrics? I guarantee it. That however is your business, whilst every one else’s genitals and what they do with them does not concern you.

Atheists always complain about a “God” that does this or that and the condemns to hell–I always present them with the good news that since they don’t believe, they don’t need to Obey; that’s the same for all of us! God Calls to Holiness. He does not forces anyone to it:
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
(Isaiah 1)
