I wonder what his lowest age is for consent? Nieatheist, care to tell us?
It will probably be the age of consent made by the governmentI wonder what his lowest age is for consent? Nieatheist, care to tell us?
We live in supposedly free societies. Why should anyone have to keep this sort of thing “private”?Keep it private then.
If the behavior increases medical costs of which I share will you be willing to be put in a risk pool that covers those increases?
First of all, this is yet another example of reductio ad absurdum. But even if we go to that point, if three or more adults want to enter a sexual relationship, I have no personal objection. Polygamy is hardly some novel thing, and has been practiced by societies, including Judeo-Christian societies. The chief issue I have with polygamy, at least as it is practiced by some Mormon sects, is the issues of child brides, and the fate of young men, who are often pushed out of polygamist communes because the “elders” don’t want competition.niceatheist:![]()
Would you use that response for people who want to engage in polygamy? Incest? After all, if it’s whatever they want it to be then surely you would allow polygamy and incest. After all it’s their sexual organs. Right? They can do whatever they want as long as it’s consenting. Right? For consenting adults, it’s whatever they want it to be. Do you feel you have the authority to tell adults what to do with their sexual organs, or which organs they treat as sexual?
Just using your response here
They have a right to a family. Families have many different formations in time and space. I, for instance, was raised by my grandparents.
- Children have a right to their real mother and father. Children are best served in real families.
Sorry, I know enough failing marriages and the horrible things it does to children to know that no-fault divorce is the right way to go, and really, at-fault divorce jurisdictions simply forced couples who wanted to divorce to literally invent reasons to justify their divorce. Again, what other couples do isn’t your business, and it certainly isn’t the state’s. Providing there are laws that assure the care of children and reasonable division of assets, I think no-fault divorce is by far the preferable option. And really, do you honestly think that anyone is going to go back to the old days?2.Indeed, rather than lower the bar we should raise it. Real marriages and get rid of no-fault divorce if there are children. Work it out for their sake.
You’re going to have to show me the wrong here. Saying “God says so” won’t do it for me, and neither will invoking “natural law”, which is just “God says so”, but removing explicit mention of “God”.
- Again, two wrongs do not make a right.
So what? By that logic, anyone using contraception should be banned from being married, or any couple partaking of non-procreative sexual acts should also be banned from being married.
- No, the designed pleasure aspect induces procreation. Homosexual acts are always sterile.
This is not another example of reduction of absurdity niceatheist. There is problems when allowing people to do whatever they see fit. Who is encouraging Catholics to do anything wrong? If you don’t like same-sex marriage, don’t marry someone of your gender. Your religious views are still protected, you’re just not able to project them to other people. If you don’t like what God says, why post here? Catholics should not be encouraged to do wrong, much less anyone else.
It can be used for Stress Relief?Really? What else is it for? (Besides pleasure)
Homosexuality has not been illegal in the US for quite a while, since the last anti-sodomy laws were struck down. With freedom comes responsibility, what one ought to do. There are many things you are not “free” to do. You are asking for license. If you break laws there are consequences.
And it’s your right to believe that. What isn’t your right is to impose that belief on anyone else. There is no such thing as “same sex marriage.” I don’t care what they want to believe about it. Marriage is between one man and one woman. God ordained and sanctified marriage. Same sex couples have no right to try and change it.
Freedom of speech and the right to impose your beliefs are two very different things.I don’t have the same freedom of speech you do? I am able to project them to other people. Sort of absurd to think otherwise.
