This coming Friday Ireland is holding a referendum to repeal the 8th amendment. All media, Irish celebrities and the majority of those in government are in favour of repeal, which has been a very baised referendum from the off. On social media NO supporters are drowned out and somewhat ganged up on by YES supporters when they try to have a voice. Please think of Ireland in your prayers on Friday that abortion will not be passed.

Here’s what scares me: advertisements are being blocked for both sides on social media (Facebook, etc.) which pro Lifers claim was going to be their main platform. That means all of the info being relayed to Irish citizens is coming via Pro-“Choice” (really, it pains me to write choice, because it’s so distorted) >> http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/05/13/facebook-google-to-block-ads-leading-up-to-ireland-abortion-referendum.amp.html

The way the media portrays the abortion debate really terrifies me. For example, the other day, i read an article that claims abortion is not illegal in Ireland because the state has “a history of oppressing women.” (I can’t find it - it may have been a Times articles, which I’m out of free uses for today). Quotes like that sadden, scare me, and inflame me. Those who control the news arbitrarily decide that giving a woman a right to “terminate” (again - it really bugs me to use “their” terminology, especially because “they” don’t use ours - they use ‘anti-abortion’ instead of ‘pro life’) her pregnancy as “progress.”

You lost on divorce. You lost on contraception. You lost on gay marriage. You are about to lose on abortion.

What conclusions can you draw from these defeats in one of the most Catholic countries on the planet?

The Church in Ireland is sore and hurting over the abuse scandal.
It looks like they’re going to follow the well-worn path of turning around and throwing away the baby with the bath water.
I’m so sorry they’re going down this path. Abortion did absolutely nothing to make America a happier place, and it won’t help Ireland, either.

This is not a vote against the church. Women will vote for what they believe is the correct path. If it contradicts what the church teaches then It simply means that what the church teaches and what people believe do not align.

And people don’t vote on these matters to be happier.

If any Irish voters are reading here - - -

The fertilized egg has ALL the DNA and chromosomes of a SEPARATE human being. It is neither the mother nor the father but is totally dependent on the mother and the father. It is alive and growing. It is a human being.

Let your conscience be your guide. Should you vote to change the Irish Constitution to allow the killing of an innocent human being ? Would it have been OK with you if you were aborted?

Ireland has turned into a liberal, secular society which is owned by the EU and our government is nothing more than puppets to the elite. Many in this country sadly are easily lead and we have a very anti-Catholic media and government which doesn’t help.

Pro-life Brits stand with pro-life Irishmen!

If the referendum is lost then it will not be us that lose as much as the millions of little children that will be killed in their mothers wombs, often ripped to pieces limb by limb. They will be the ones who lose, they will be the ones who will pay the price should so-called ‘progressive’ views prevail. This is not about the Church, it is about innocent children’s lives. But I wouldnt start presuming victory for the “Yes” vote yet if I were you.

i think i read 125,000 more people had registered to vote. i pray they will vote
against the referendum to repeal the 8th
amendment.

Yes a large number have, many are coming home from abroad to vote aswell. Thanks I think it will be close but with prayer please God we will stop this.

i will be praying because i have been involved with 40 Days for Life for the past 6 years and i am very pro-life.

What does it mean to say “with prayer God will stop this”? Do you mean He will interfere with the free will of individual voters? What exactly are you praying for?

Kevin, abortion is wrong and extremely offensive to God. Have you ever looked up the power of prayer before? Miracles that have happened in countries through praying the Rosary? When something evil like this is trying to be legalised in a country there is absolutely without no doubt only satan is behind it. What I mean is God is powerful and through prayer we can pray asking Our Lady, the Saints to intercede for us to stop abortion coming into Ireland. “What am I praying for”? To stop abortion being legalised in this country. If this is passed into Ireland all unborn babies, up to birth, would have no constitutional protection against the legislation that this Government intends to introduce. The floodgates will well and truly be opened then.

I know what outcome you are praying for, but for God to achieve this He must necessarily interfere with the free will votes of enough people to achieve your desired result. Would you agree?
