“The wind was at first against the Christians, and it was feared that the Turks would be able to make contact before a line of battle could be formed. But around noon, shortly before contact, the wind shifted to favour the Christians, enabling most of the squadrons to reach their assigned position before contact.”

Notice how God merely changed the wind direction? He didn’t smite the Turks. God gave the Christians favorable conditions. He’s very precise and doesn’t interfere unnecessarily.

Not just the wind direction, but also the cover of fog. It was enough change to reverse the outcome and Christendom was saved.

I don’t believe that praying will do any good, but I certainly hope that Ireland votes no on abortion. Just because someone doesn’t believe in God, doesn’t mean they are for abortion. I for one am fully opposed to it.

Mark 4

37A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

Jesus knew the storm was coming. He waited for his confident Apostles to ask him to intervene. God does this throughout history. When we reject him, he allows us to muck things up. The Israelites constantly did this and suffered the consequences. Suffice it to say, HIS WAYS ARE THE BEST WAYS.

Matthew 7:7

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

He always answers the prayers and cries of His people; however, they’re not always answered the way we expect.

You lost on divorce. You lost on contraception. You lost on gay marriage. You are about to lose on abortion.

What conclusions can you draw from these defeats in one of the most Catholic countries on the planet?
Sadly, that a lot of people in Ireland very well might wind up in hell. 😦

i think i read 125,000 more people had registered to vote. i pray they will vote
against the referendum to repeal the 8th
amendment.
I pray too.

However, this also concerns me because conservatives typically view voting as a responsibility and would have been registers a long time ago.

Luke 23:34

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.

The majority of people don’t understand what it is they’re doing.

But I would well imagine that if you all prayed and abortion was voted down, then you would claim prayer worked. Would you not?
if the vote is no to abortion, then we will claim our prayer was answered the way we wanted it to be answered.

If the vote is yes to abortion, then we will know that our prayers were answered in a way we don’t understand.

But, even though our prayers were answered, we shouldn’t celebrate. We would continue to pray that God does His will and that abortion is ended.

So abortion being allowed is, in a way you don’t understand but do appreciate, God’s will. You should celebrate God’s will being done whatever the outcome.

Stop trying to trick us into saying that abortion is God’s will.

God wants abortion to stop. If, by the sins of humans, it is allowed to go through, then God will find a way to end it. We cannot celebrate sin, ever. Clear enough now?

Yeah, with significant twisting and strawmanning. You’re not being intellectually honest.

St. Brigid of Kildare, patron of newborn babies, pray for Éireann.
St. Patrick, Pray for Éireann.
Holy Innocents, Pray for Éireann

Holy Spirit, grant the voters your wisdom, counsel, understanding, knowledge, piety, fortitude, and fear of the Lord tomorrow; Infant Jesus, may your beautiful image be burned into their minds when they vote. Heavenly father, please protect the Irish unborn. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

So you taking something that in no way meant “God doesn’t know what to do” and saying it meant that isn’t a strawman? If not, it’s just blatantly lying.

If I say I’m going to find a way to repsond to your post, it means what to you? It should mean that I currently don’t have a response and I am going to have to look for one. If God is going to find a way to do something, then it means the same thing. Let me know if you have a different interpretation.

And no, it wasn’t a strawman. You’ll need to look it up I guess.
